Black Shirts Kerry Wein- master (51) and James Wightman (59) come in to survey the damage. Sophomore split end Tim Smith (84) got the first touchdown of his college career Saturday when he caught this six-yard pass from Tom Sorley mid-way in the fourth quarter. Husker quarterback Tom Sorley (12) goes in for the this second quarter TD, but it's too late as Sorley has first ot his two touchdowns Saturday afternoon against already crossed into the end zone to put the Huskers Indiana. He s all wrapped up by Hoosier defenders in ahead *17-7 With 5:24 left in the first quarter. Nebraska got an easy two points as Hoosier quarterback Scott Arnett (16) slips in the end zone. Surrounding him are Huskers George Andrews (96) and Tony Samuel (98). An easy 2 points % Confusion reigns near goal line The camera proves the officials made a proper ruling on a Nebraska touchdown try late in the third quarter. NU’s Isaiah Hipp (upside down with feet in the air) loses control of the ball (1) just before crossing the goal line. The ball rolls loose in the end zone (2) where Indiana recovered. The touchback would have given Indiana possession on its 20-yard line, but the Hoosiers were ruled offside on the play, giving Nebraska a second chance - which also failed. II Hipp had crossed the goal line before fumbling, a Husker touchdown would have resulted regardless of the rniscue.
