I March 11, 1967 -V v. i Wi wPX v- Marincello Thoroughfare Taking Shape Grading is almost completed on the first phase of the main thoroughfare through cello, the planned community to be constructed in Southern headlands. The new Marincello Boulevard intersects with nessee Valley Road in the lower central part of this photograph by Aero Photographers of Sausalito. This one-and-a-half-mile section of the new boulevard ends at the ridge bordering the main Marincello Valley. Through most of its length, the highway is five lanes wide and is designed for a speed of 35 miles per hour.
Beyond the ridge, the second phase of the boulevard construction, which will be started soon, will wind down into the main valley along the general line of present one-lane access road. Eventually a community of 25,000 persons, living in widely space high-rise apartment buildings and individual homes will occupy the lonely and barren area. Despite the number of residents anticipated, Marincello will be one of the few low-density areas in the count under present county zoning..
