The Santa Ana students are the first amateur company ever to attempt it. More than 90 students will appear on the stage in the cast and choruses of the operetta.

Miss Nada Smith, as and Roger Hearn, as have the leading roles. As the title implies, the plot deals with village life, which might be found in any section of New England, but this particular village happens to be located near Boston. There are plots and subplots galore the action centers about the love between Dave Wiggins" and Saunders. Captain Fenton, played by Clarence Slddoway. the villian, does his worst to cut out with resulting complications, involving other members of the cast.

Without exaggeration, so far as acting is concerned, Tibblns, the constable, taken by William Warren, is two-thirds of the show himself. Every time he appears on the stage, he causes a furore or laughter. Catchy tunes, rollicking fun and a complicated plot are all to be found in the operetta. Santa Ana high school orchestra plays the accompaniment. Mustol will lead the orchestra and direct the action.

Banker Pays $250 Fine to Escape Heavy Jail Term A check for $250 received today by Justice Kenneth Morrison from G. G. Greenwood, vice president of the Pacific Southwest Trust and Savings bank, Los Angeles, officially closed the reckless driving case of the banker so far as the Santa Ana justice court was concerned, Morrison said.

Greenwood was arrested on March 27 by E. G. Sawyer, state traffic officer, who charged him with speeding 70 miles an hour and driving. The offense was to have been committed on the Irvine boulevard. Justice Morrison gave Greenwood his choice of spending 10 days jn jail here or paying a fine of $250.

Recommendations increasing the maximum rates of salaries in the Santa Ana city high school district as well as granting certain allowances to supervisors, heads of departments and directors of subject conferences, were adopted last night at a special meeting of the Santa Ana city hoard of education.

The recommendations were submitted by the teachers committee, composed of Mrs. Clara W. Wilson and Dr. John D. Ball.
