The Huskers scored against Oklahoma with the same setup, Allen Zlk- mund reaching back and grabbing a ball that Jack thought he had intercepted. This was the second time all season that a team has been able to blast its way thru the Husker line for points, Minnesota accom- pli.shmg it in the first game of the season.

The remainder of the quarter was without incident excepting one play when Butch Luther started as tho on his pet reverse, only to fade back and throw a pass intended for Prochaska. But it was short and picked off by Jack Stetler. the first pass that Luther had ever thrown for the Huskers. The Panthers were alert, however, having two men with Prochaska. It was evident at once that a placeklck would be forthcoming and Vike Francis had his big chance to redeem that miss on the extra point. He made the most of it. With Knight holding, the ball carried over the top of the standards and thru the bars.

The referee's arm went up without any hesitation. Biff substituted his second unit as a team only once, giving the first string some rest in the first half. But a.s it was last Saturday, it was Pitt, a team that should have been weakening, carrying the fight to the Huskers. Rush Right Tackle. The Panthers were powering their way over the Husker right tackle on that last drive which was neatly mixed with passes, when they reached the Nebraska 3, a change in tactics lost tw'o yards when Bonelli, a hard running reserve back, tried to go wide.

Then came that dramatic place- kick which failed. Pitt backers were already second guessing on what would have happened had big George Kracum been given a chance inside the tackles. The 22,000 who braved the cold, raw wind to watch this contest will never forget not a single spectator left until the final minute. No matter what previous record may have been, the Panthers were a great team Saturday. They fought it out to the last ditch and it required everything the Huskers had to stave off that last minute bid for victory.
