Rebman, 88, of 405 Hovey Normal, will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Kibler-Smlth Memorial Home, John, Roanoke; four sisters, Mattle Schirtz, Eureka; Ada Kennell and Freda Reiff, both of Goshen, and Wilma Stealy, Elkhart, and two grandchildren. He was preceded ln death by two sisters. Mr.

Imhoff was a member of the Metamora Mennonite Church, a past member of the church's Building Committee and the chairman of the church's Organ Committee. He was a past member and secretary of the Roanoke-Benson school board and the Illinois Mennonite Historical and Genealogical Society and its Building Committee. He was also a member of the board of Eureka Etcetera Shop. He was a retired farmer and the founder of Swiss Bell Farms, Roanoke. Memorials may be made to his church's organ fund or to Goshen College.

Campfire ignites Pontiac barn PONTIAC High winds yesterday apparently rekindled a transient's campfire, setting a barn ln rural Pontiac on fire. No one was injured ln the blaze. Pontiac firefighters were called to the scene, which was nearly one mile north of Pontiac, at 7:38 a.m. yesterday. The barn, which is owned by Robert E.

Dlemer of rural Pontiac, sustained "moderate" damage, meaning the damage equaled 25 to 50 percent of the building's assessed valuation, firefighters said. They declined to release an exact damage estimate. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze in about two hours. Livingston County sheriff's deputies said a transient was found walking about a half-mile north of the fire scene at 2:40 p.m. The man told police he had been staying ln the barn for eight days and he believed be had extinguished a campfire before leaving.

Police said no criminal charges will be filed because Dlemer did not want to prosecute and the fire is believed to be accidental. B-N man charged with bar damage A Bloomington man was accused yesterday of causing $750 damage to a window at a Bloomington bar Saturday. Wagner Wood, 39, of 1 White Place was released on a $3,000 personal recognizance bond after a court appearance yesterday afternoon. He is to appear in court again April 21. Bloomington police said Wood threw a rock through the window at Twenty Grand Tap, 101 E.

Front shortly after midnight Saturday. Area residents' relative dies in Urbana hospital PONTIAC Eugene S. Hays, 50, Rantoul, son and brother of area residents, died at 3:05 a.m. yesterday (March 28, 1988) at Mercy Hospital, Urbana. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m.

Thursday at Heath Sons Funeral Home, Champaign. Burial will be ln East Lawn Cemetery, Urbana. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Area survivors include his mother, Mildred Hays, and brother, Larry, both of Pontiac.

Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Champaign, or to Mercy Hospital. B-N man's mother dies in Michigan Elizabeth B. Busse, 84, St. Joseph, mother of Edward E.

Busse, 1906 Owens Drive, Bloomington, died Sunday (March 27, 1988) in Shoreham Terrace Nursing Home, St. Joseph. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Joseph.

Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at Dey-Florin Funeral Home, St. Joseph.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. ACTIVITIES Fashion show PONTIAC "My Fair Lady" will be the theme of the annual Pontiac Women's Club fashion show at 9 a.m. April 12 at the Elks Country Club. Nine Pontiac stores will show spring fashions, and Richard Hoerner will play the organ. A continental breakfast will be served before the show.

Tickets cost $3.50 and may be purchased in advance at Holiday House. Group sale Heritage Manor, 700 E. Walnut Bloomington, will have a group sale April 6 and 7 to raise money for a Christmas party and gifts for its residents. Homemade bakery goods, white elephant items and clothing will be sold from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

He will be cremated. Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, is ln charge of arrangements. Mr. Hall was born April 8, 1928, ln Cumberland, Ohio, a son of Edward and Dora Mae Lehigh Hall. He married Karen S.

DeHart. She died Nov. 13, 1974 He married Aretha Marie Wlkoff on Aug. 26, 1975, in Wenona. She survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Cynthia R. Davis, 808 E. Monroe Bloomington, and Valerie S. Hall, at home; four sons, David Hall, Silver Springs, William C. Hall.

Downs; Robert A. Davis, 14 Northmeadow Village, Normal; and Trent C. Davis, at home; two brothers, Edward, Barbourville, and Frank, Cincinnati, Ohio; two sisters, Helen Howard, East Bernstadt, and Jo Ann Sumler, New Richmond, Ohio; and five grandchildren. He was preceded ln death by his parents and one brother. He was employed as a concrete finisher in Bloomington-Normal and surrounding areas for many years.

He was a member of Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Local 152, Bloomington. He was an avid fisherman and a member of the Bloomington Bass Club. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Memorials may be made to his church or to the American Cancer Society. James W.

Goodin CHENOA James W. Goodin, 77, of Chenoa died at 6:15 a.m. yesterday (March 28, 1988) at Brokaw Hospital, Normal. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Chenoa, the Rev.

Grant Sen-sion officiating. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the memorial home. He was born March 18, 1911, at Adair, a son of Henry C. and Estella Curry Goodin.

He jjiarried Mary D. Bauman on May 25, 1937, at Ottawa. She died Oct. 18, 1987. Surviving are one daughter, Paula Hughes, Westville; two sons, Larry Big Rock, and Robert Chenoa; four sisters, Clara Sutter, a resident of Mennonite Hospital's Long Term Care Unit; Gladys Lamkin, Phoenix, Rita Sutter, 1201 Beech Normal; and Oma Wellenreiter, 2820 Coventry Court, Bloomington; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, one sister and one great-grandson. Mr. Goodin lived more than 50 years in the Chenoa area. He had been a service station owner before retirement. He was a member of the Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Chenoa Ambulance Service Association or to a charity of the donor's choice. Clarence Imhoff ROANOKE Clarence E. Imhoff, 78, of rural Roanoke died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday (March 27, 1988) at Eureka Hospital. His funeral will be at 11 a.m.

Wednesday at Metamora Mennonite Church, the Rev. Jack Stalter and Gail Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery, Metamora. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today at Mason Funeral Home, Metamora, and one hour before services at the church.

Mr. Imhoff was born Aug. 3, 1909, in Roanoke Township, a son of John and Bertha Schirtz Imhoff. She married Mae Orendorff on June 22, 1947, in Flanagan. She survives.

Survivors also include two daughters, Phyllis Wulliman, Goshen, and Georgia Imhoff-Smith, Madison, one son, Katie A. Reeb EUREKA Katie A. Reeb, 95, of Maple Lawn Home, Eureka, formerly of Roanoke, died at 2:50 p.m. Sunday (March 27, 1988) at the home. Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday at the Linn Amlsh Mennonite Church, Roanoke, Steve Ulrich officiating. Burial will be at Roanoke Mennonite Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight in the assembly room at Maple Lawn Home and for one hour before services at the church Wednesday. There also will be a memorial service at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the home's assembly room, the Rev.

Robert Harnish officiating. Mason Funeral Home, Metamora, has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Reeb was born May 14, 1892, in Roanoke Township, a daughter of Peter W. and Phoebe Iegsti Ken-nell.

She married Henry C. Reeb on Sept. 12, 1912, ln Roanoke Township. He died Oct. 19, 1971.

Survivors include two daughters, Verna Bachman, Lowpoint, and Nellie Schirtz, Metamora; two sons, Arthur Carlsbad, N.M., and John Metamora; one sister, Sadie Kennell, Eureka; 15 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and one grandchild. Mrs. Reeb was a member of the Linn Amlsh Mennonite Church. Memorials may be made to Maple Lawn Home, Gideons International or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mildred L. Bree LINCOLN Mildred L. Bree, 79, of Lincoln died at 6:45 a.m. yesterday (March 28, 1988) at St. John's Hospital, Springfield.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church, Lincoln, the Rev. Arnold Krugler officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.

Wednesday at Holland Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln. She was born July 24, 1908, at Hartland, a daughter of Charles and Emma Kressin Klug. She married Paul Bree on Nov. 29, 1928, at Milwaukee, Wis. He died July 7, 1961.

Surviving are one son, Don, Searcy, two daughters, Lorraine Martinie, Simpsonville, S.C., and Twila Sullivan, Walnut Creek, two sisters, Ethel Hill, Hopkins, and Alice Bublitz, Saukville, seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mrs. Bree was a retired cook, having worked at Lincoln Community High School. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, to which memorials may be made. Levi Staker MORTON Levi Staker, 85, formerly of Morton, died at 4:45 a.m.

yesterday (March 28, 1988) at Fon-dulac Nursing Home, East Peoria, where he was a resident. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home, Morton, the Rev. Ralph Bauer officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Morton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born May 15, 1902, in Tremont, a son of Christian and Lena Pfister Staker. He married Lena M. Guengerich in February 1924.

She died Dec. 3, 1987. Survivors include a son, Ray, Bozeman, seven daughters, Vera Buchanan and Hilda Ahten, both of Pekin; Alice Heisel, Win-throp, Helen Buchanan, Morton; Betty Ernst, Washington; Lila Bauer, Trinidad, West Indies; and Mary Schwartz, Placentia, 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and two grandchildren. Mr.

Staker farmed in the Groveland and Spring Lake areas for many years. He attended Zion Evangelical United Methodist Church In Groveland, to which memorials may be made. Bloomington. The Rev. Donald Nester will officiate, with burial in Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.

Visitation will be from 8 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. He died at Mr. Rebman 6:40 a.m. Sunday (March 27, 1988) at Mennonite Hospital Long Term Care Unit, Bloomington.

Mr. Rebman was born June 20, 1899, ln Bloomington, a son of Peter and Elizabeth Ehrmantaut Rebman. He married Nellie Rae Cain on June 14, 1921, in Springfield. She died Feb. 7, 1976.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathleen Milburn, 405 Hovey Normal; a granddaughter; and a great-granddaughter. Five brothers and two sisters preceded him ln death. Mr. Rebman was a retired blacksmith for the former Gulf Mobile and Ohio Railroad and Chicago and Midland Railroad. He was a lifetime member of the Moose Lodge.

Memorials may be made to the Mennonite Long Term Care Unit activity fund. Ida P. Drane Ida P. Drane, 77, Portage, formerly of Bloomington, died at 12:52 a.m. Saturday (March 26, 1988) at St.

Mary Medical Center, Hobart, Ind. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. today at Rees Funeral Home, Olson Chapel, Portage. Burial will be in Calumet Park Cemetery, Mer-rillville, Ind. She was born May 27, 1910, in Breckinridge County, a daughter of Clint and Iva Problus Drane.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Louise Nelson, Portage; three brothers, Vernie Drane, Ely, Earl Drane, 1517 S. Wilson Bloomington; and Alvin Drane, Phoenix, two sisters, Edith Jones, Lincoln Towers, Bloomington, and Betty Anderson, Lexington; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was a nurse's aid at McLean County Nursing Home for many years. Harold Hartzler Harold Hartzler, 72, formerly of 1205 Greenlawn Drive, Bloomington, died at 3:50 p.m. yesterday (March 28, 1988) at the McLean County Nursing Home, where he had been a resident.

He was taken to Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington. Rachel Leach Rachel Leach, 95, of Joliet and formerly of Bloomington, died at 1:40 a.m. yesterday (March 28, 1988) at Silver Cross Hospital, Joliet. She will be taken to Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. 2 women charged in credit card case Two women were charged yesterday with violating the credit card act after they used a card improperly to get merchandise valued together at $3,800 during the past six months, Normal police said.

One of the women apparently allowed the other to use her credit card and sign her name to credit card bills, police said. Julie Smith, 21, of 612 N. McLean Bloomington, who police said owned the credit card, was released on a $2,500 personal recognizance bond following a court appearance yesterday. Margaret Hodges, 34, of 610 S. Clayton Bloomington, who police said used the card, was returned to jail in lieu of $3,000.

Both are to appear in court again April 21. Central Illinois Charley Scott KENNEY The funeral of Charley Scott, 89, of Kenney will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Her-lngton-Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. Robert Guy will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. He died at 1:20 a.m. Sunday (March 27, 1988) at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton.

Mr. Scott was born Jan. 23, 1899, In Washington County, a son of James and Alice Harmon Scott. He married Georgia May Wheeler on March 27, 1918, in Clinton. She survives.

Also surviving are three sons, Lien Earl, Kenney; Nolan Eugene, Maroa; and Charlie Bernard, Clinton; three daughters, Oleta Baker, Weldon; Nova Hale, Kenney; and Oma Kartawich, Clinton; 36 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sons, two daughters, three brothers, one sister, two grandsons and one great-granddaughter. 1 Mr. Scott was a member of Kenney Christian Church. He was employed as a maintenance man for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad and was a member of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way of ICG.

He retired in 1985 after 48 years of service. Mr. Scott died on his 70th wedding anniversary. Memorials may be made to the Kenney Christian Church. Robert Travers PONTIAC The funeral of Robert W.

Travers, 86, of Pontiac will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Duffy Funeral Home, Pontiac, the Rev. E. Edward Higgins officiating. Burial will be in St.

Mary's Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with the rosary recited at 7 p.m. Mr. Travers died at 8:15 p.m.

Saturday (March 26, 1988) at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center, Bloomington. He was born Sept. 22, 1901, in Lexington, a son of James and Catherine Quaid Travers. He married Zelma Swearingen on Feb.

3, 1946, in Burlington, Iowa. She died Oct. 6, 1970. He is survived by one son, Robert "Mick," Odell; one brother, Frank, Lexington; one sister, Catherine Kauth, El Paso; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Mr. Travers attended grade and high schools in Lexington and one semester at St. Bede in Peru. He was employed by the Illinois Department of Corrections in Menard and later in Pontiac. He was last employed with Johnson Press for eight years.

He was a member of the American Legion in Pontiac. Ernest Bess I FAIRBURY Ernest Bess, 90, of Fairbury died at 1 p.m. yesterday (March 28, 1988) at the Fairview Haven Nursing Home, Fairbury, tyhere he had resided the pasi. 17 months. He was taken to Diggle Funeral Home-Stiver Chapel, Fairbury.

Thursday at Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac, the Rev. William Smith, his nephew of Frankfort, officiating. Burial will be in Southside Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday at the funeral home. He was born Oct. 5, 1900, ln Golden Gate, a son of William and Martha Hodges Smith. He married Lucille Bodokis on March 26, 1942, in Effingham. She died in 1969.

Surviving are two sons, Ronald Aledo, and Terry Pensacola, a daughter, Cheryl Livesay, Kankakee; a sister, Mabel Vaughn, Fairbury; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. An infant daughter, a brother and four sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Smith was educated in Golden Gate schools and farmed north of Pontiac for most of his life. He later owned and operated the Log Cabin Mobile Home Court, retiring in 1967.

During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Pontiac. Bloomington-Normal Carl Stringfield The funeral of Carl E. Stringfield, 70, of 104 E.

Wood Bloomington, will be at 2 p.m. today at Froelich Memorial Home, El Paso, the Rev. Vernon Rayphole officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, El Paso.

Visitation will be one hour before the service today. Mr. Stringfield died at 6:40 p.m. Saturday (March 26, 1988) at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington, after a brief illness. He was born March 5, 1918, in Ohio County, a son of Will and Annie Logsdon Stringfield.

He married Jessie Phelps on March 11, 1940, in Hartford, Ky. She survives. Also surviving are one son, Carl El Paso; one daughter, Carley Huff, Kenosha, three brothers, Bill, Overland Park, Tommy, Caneyville, and Dar-rel, Detroit, three sisters, Ruby Russell and Opal Her, both of Riverside, and Loretta Hatler, Rosine, eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son. Mr.

Stringfield was a member of the Foursquare Gospel Church, Bloomington. He worked as a brick layer in the Hudson and Bloomington areas. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
