VANAUSDOLL tGravemann Photo) Holy Ghost Hall in Jerseyville was illuminated only by candlelight last night, because of the failure of elc-ctric power, for the wedding reception of Donald L. Vanausdoll and his bride of Wednesday afternoon, Ihe former Miss Joan Arter.

The couple received relatives and friends, and a buffet supper was served to guests Irom 6-S o'clock, amid decorations of white streamers, flowers and wedding hells. A four tier cake- encircled with flowers centered the serving table. Assisting with serving were Mrs. James Abbott of Norfolk, sister of the bridegroom, Mrs. Fred Zipprich and Mrs.

George Depper. both of Alton. Miss Diane Bur-wig was in charge of the guest book. Mrs. Vanausdoll is the daughter of Mr.

and. Mrs. Edward Arter of Jerseyville, and her husband is the son of Mrs. K. C.

Vanausdoll oL Kane, and the late Mr. Vanausdoll. They were married at -I o'clock in a double ring nere- rriony read by the Rev. John J. Clancy in St.

Francis Xavier Church, Jerseyville. Escorted by her father, the bride was attended by her sister, Mrs. Gerald Heitzig, matron of honor. MJ-. Heitzig was best man, and Darrell Vanaus- doll, brother of the bridegroom, and Joe Welch, cousin of the bride, seated guests.

The candles were lighted by Miss Marlene Vanausdoll. sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Betty KrausR. The bride appeared a waltz length ol: Chantilly lace over tulle and taffeta. 'It was designed with portrait neckline edged with pearls and iridescents. scalloped el- how length sleeves and a full scalloped skirt extended over- hoops.

She won- matching white lace gauntlets edged with seed pearls and iridescrnts and a crown of pearls and irides- cents, from which fell a fingertip veil. A white prayer book adorned with a white orchid and cascading lilic.s-ol'-ihe-valley was carried by the bride, who piaced'a bouquet of flowers on the Blessed Virgin's altar while Edward Bunse, vocal soloist, sang "Mother At Thy Feet Is Kneeling." Other musical selections included "Dear- Lady of Fatiirm" and an "Avo sung by Mr. Bunse. accompanied by Mrs. James Walsh, organist.

Mrs. Heilxig wore a length sown of avacaelo green faille, styled in similar fashion to the bride's, with portrait neckline, short sleeves, full skirt and a bow in hack. Her costume was completed with gauntlets and a picture hat matching her gown, and she carried a drop bouquet of pompons. Also gownt.d in faille were the candlciighlci'S, who wore scarlet red waltz length dresses, made with portrait neeklint's, short sleeves and full skirts, and matching gauntlets, Their- headdresses were bands of while pompons. Decorating tho high altar of the church were bouquets eif white chrysanthemums and bronze and scar Jet wheat.

Center aisle were marked with tapers, trimmed with white gladioli, bronze and scarlet wheat and white bows. After a northern honeymoon, the couple will reside with the bridegroom's mother on a farm northeast of Jerseyville. Mr. Vanausdoll has been engaged in since his discharge from the Air Forse last January, after four years service. He and his bride are 1949 graduates ol Jersey Community High School.
