Thursday, November 30.1972 Wqt (ftangoit Section One Page 11 Tidbits here and there By CAROL CRAIN THE HOLIDAY GAME NIGHT is scheduled Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the West Texas State University Activities Center ballroom. The evening of games for being sponsored by the Federated Council of Club. Each $1 ticket entitles the participant to dessert and choice of beverages.

Proceeds from the evening will be given to the Canyon Op portunity Plan. Dress in your favorite holiday fashion and plan to attend! This evening will serve to get Canyonites together for an enjoyable time and serve a good cause at the same time. FORGET THE CHRISTMAS BAZAAR being held tomorrow and Saturday at the old bank building on the square. There will be everything from baked Christmas decorations to clever sewed items and a picture booth with Santa. The Eastern Star is in charge of the bazaar and the Rainbow girls will sell sandwiches and coffee.

I can hardly wait to see what will be featured on the table labeled Junque! Hours are 1 to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. THE FLEA MARKET will be held Saturday at the Flea Market, by the way! from 8 a.m.

to 6 p.m. at the Bull Barn. Plan to do some of your Christmas shopping at these two events plus at the CANYON around town this weekend and avoid the rush. The 17 Canyon students selected for the All-Region Choir will go to Pampa Friday and Saturday to take part in a clinic and concert to be under direction of Gene Kenney of Texas Tech.

The concert is to be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Brown Auditorium. On Dec. 4 and 5, members of the choir will try out for parts in the musical, which is to be presented in the high school auditorium Feb. 22,23 and 24.

That production will be a combined effort between the choir group and the speech and drama department. December 5 will be an extremely busy date for the group and in addition to the try-outs for the musical, the Show Choir is scheduled to give performances at both an annual banquet for Northwest Texas Hospital nurses and at the Canyon school Christmas dinner. The hospital banquet and school board dinner are almost simultaneous and may present a problem, said choir director Tom Jennings. we can make he added. Harry Wilfred Gaume Sept. 4, 1904 in Danville, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1957. She was a member of the St. Catholic Church in Canyon.

Survivors include daughters, Sister Virginia Gaume of Dubuque, Iowa; Misy Matilda Gaume of 2514 5th and Mrs. Delpha Gard of 411 Thompson Lane; a sister, Mrs. Paul Olivier of Long Beach, and a brother, Robert Smithheisler of Tonkaawa, Okla. Cook onion and green pepper in bacon fat until tender. Add seasonings and shrimp and heat. Combine eggs, cream, Worcestershire sauce, any bacon. Add to shrimp mixture and cook until eggs are firm, stirring occasionally. Makes six servings.

Sharon Lindemann won the 1st door prize and Mrs. John Beckman won the 2nd door prize. In the raffle Mrs. Elmer Reinart from Hereford, won 1st prize, Mrs. Henry Bracht won 2nd prize and Mrs.

and Mrs. Billy Hill and family, from Canyon, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Birkenfeld and Hines To Host Garden Club Canyon Garden meeting, originally scheduled for Dec. 1, has been set for 7:30 p.m.

on Friday, Dec. 8 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. K.E. Hines, west of Canyon.

A program of Christmas carols and a gift exchange are planned. Co-hosting for the evening will be Mr. and Mrs. V.B. Hubbard.

Kent Named To Tennis Group West Texas State University tennis coach David Kent has been named to the executive committee of the Texas Tennis Association, the controlling body of tennis in the state. Leonard Batenhorst are grandparents again. Their daughter, Mrs. Tom Kellerman presented them with a grandson Monday evening ft Neblett Memorial Hospital. The paternal grandparents are Dr. and Mrs.

C.C. Kellerman of Canvon. MR. AND MRS. Marion Hicks are parents of a baby boy who arrived at Neblett Memorial Hospital on Tuesday morning.

The Lewie Raefs of Umbarger are the maternal grandparents and Mr. and Mrs. M.W. Hicks of Rt. 1 are the paternal grandparents.

MR. AND MRS. Henry Bracht went to Wichita Falls to attend the funeral of Mrs aunt, Miss Laura Berend. Laura was housekeeper for the late Father J.J, Dolje for some 30 years. ALL PERSONS INTERESTED in volleyball be at the gym Thursday night at 7:30.
