was born January 29, 1910, at Schaumburg. She received her education at the Schaumburg Lutheran School and was confirmed at the Schaumburg Lutheran church by Rev. Theiss. On November 10, 1929, she was united in marriage to Louis A. Winkelmann at the Winkelman residence on Higgins road: this couple have always made their home at this place.

After an illness of quite some time Mrs. Winkelmann passed away at an Elgin hospital on Sunday morning at the age of 36 years and 25 dav's. She leaves to mourn her early departure her husband, Louis A. Whnkelmann and five children, Louis, Alice, Jean, Betty and George: her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs.

Gordon Sturm Serving in the Italian campaign for eight months, Sgt. Gordon Sturm died suddenly at Fort Bragg, N. Sunday, February n. He was born in Ela township October 15, 1915, of a family of cloven children of Mr.

and Mrs. Jacob Sturm. He was confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Paul church. Palatine, April 13, 1930, and atlcndc-d the Palatine public school.

February 26, 1940, he married Miss Pearl Ehlers of Chicago. March 8, 1944, he entered the army and served his country for two years. He went overseas in December, 1944, and served as cook in the Italian campaign. He was raise to the rank of T-4 and the Good Conduct ribbon, the Victory Medal, and the European theatre ribbon, returning to the United States in August, 1945. Since then he has been i at Fort Bragg, N.

C. He was to be discharged in another three weeks. He died at the age of thirty years and four months. Funeral will be held Friday in that city. Mrs. Shirra was the wife of Attorney Shirra. w'ho was active in Heights civic affairs 35 years ago. They moved to Evanston about 25 years ago.

Svetanoff and Mrs. Kuhl wore corsages of carnations. A reception was held at the fieldhouse for 400 guests. The young couple left for a short honeymoon. Mr.
