At the close of the program open swimming proved to be the real highlight of the warm day. INCLUDED IN the club layout are dressing rooms, showers, locker facilities and pool offices in a building next to the 84-feet long pool.

A club house, with two giant 36x60 club rooms, snack shop, washrooms and offices, faces the pool. Pool depth ranges to 12 feet. Parking lot for the club is paved. Facilities are provided for about 125 cars. Future plans of the club include baseball diamonds and tennis courts.

A skating rink will be available during the winter. The bylaws of the club permit enlargement of the membership to 300.

Additional memberships may be opened as the demand for more facilities arises. While swimming will be the main club attraction during the summer months, plans are based on a year-round program. Coming special programs are set for July 4 with an Independence Day parade and events' and for August 12 with a Hawaiian Holiday party. Youth and teen-age activities will be promoted. Among tentative activities set for the club are dancing, games, singing groups, handicraft, baseball, badminton, card games, lectures and classes, square dancing and outdoor games.

PRESIDENT of the club Is Jim Manly. Other officers are Harlan Besse, vice president; Howard Johnson, secretary; and Ed Prest, treasurer. In addition to the officers the club boafd of directors includes Howard Alton, Ralph Anderson James Holman, Robert Muchow, Glen Nielsen, Edward Strauss and Francis Yeazel. Director of the club is Roy Kearns of Plum Grove. Kearns holds a masters degree in physical education.

Kearns is swimming coach at Maine West high school. Highlight of the Sunday program was several water ballet numbers performed by Penny Brandon, Chris Michalsen and Sue Merle.
