Hickman, 77, of Grand Valley RD 1, wife of William Hickman and sister of several local residents, died Saturday afternoon in the Grandview Convalescent Home at Titusville.

She was born June 8, 1894, in Oil City, a daughter of Charles and Bertha Welms Kulling. She was married November 17, 1915, to William Hickman, who survives. Mrs. Hickman was a former member of New London Grange and a member of the Pleasantville Community Church. She had resided in Titusville, Oil City and McGraw areas.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Harold Hickman of Tidioute; three daughters, Mrs. Allen (Rachael) Wright, Mrs. Leo (Doris) Jackson, both of Orlando, and Mrs. Dale (Wilda) Coker of Athens, three brothers, Paul and Louis Kulling, both of Oil City and Adolf Kulling of Tampa, five sisters, Mrs. Hattie Felmlee of Erie, Mrs.

Mildred Keifer of Emlenton, Mrs. Laura Hill, Miss Irene Kulling, and Mrs. Ruth Como, all of Oil City'; 16 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A daughter, Dorothy, and a sister, Ethel Hurlburt, preceded her in death. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.

m. today at the Raymond W. Arnold Funeral Home, Titusville. Funeral services will be hem at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev.

James Nelson of the Pleasantville Community Church officiating. Interment will be in Rynd Farm Cemetery. OC schools suggested for funds OIL CITY Additional state subsidies totaling $260,680 have been proposed for the Oil City Area School District by State Senator Jeanette F. Reibman D-Northampton-Monroe chairman of the jSenate Education Committee. Her proposal is nearly $100,000 above the $162,800 recommended for the district by Gov.

Shapp's Commission on School Finance for distribution of additioal school subsidies. Sen. Reibman has recommended a plan whereby small cities, suburban and rural school districts would receive more than half of the additional subsidies. The commission's plan would earmark more than half of the new money to Philadelphia and Pittsburgh school districts. Sen.

Reibman is a member of the commission established to recommend to the Legislature an equitable system to allocate additional subsidies for 1971-72, and also recommend long-range changes in the state school subisdy law. Miss O'Donnell weds Saturday In Arlington Miss Katharine Patricia O'Donnell, daughter of the late John O'Donnell, managing editor of The Derrick, was married Saturday morning in Arlington, to Edward B. Lockett of Washington, D. C. The new Mrs.

Lockett received her education at Ursuline Academy in Pittsburgh and George Washington University. She joined the staff of the National Geographic Magazine in 1927, and retired in 1968. Mr. Lockett is a newspaper and magazine reporter, was White House correspondent for International News Service and later Time Magazine, and was the Time, Inc. London bureau chief in 1942 and 1943.

Summerville, 44, of 201 W. 7th a veteran of World War II, died at 1:25 p.m. I Sunday in Oil City Hospital, where he was admitted Saturday night. He was born February 9, 1927, at Butler, a son of Mrs. Nancv M.

Cooper Summerville and the late Donald F. Summerville. He had resided in Oil City for the past four years, moving here from Erie and Baltimore, Md. Mr. Summerville, in ill health for three years, had been employed as a sales representative for DuBois Chemical, a division W.

R. Grace Co. He last worked in August 1968. A veteran of World War II, he "was inducted into the U.S. Army on May 9, 1945, at Pittsuburgh and was discharged January 28, I 1949, at Fort Eustace, Va.

He "served as a corporal in Germany. Mr. Summerville was married April 10, 1948, to the former Mary Clare D' Antony, who survives. was a member of St. Stephen Church and the local of C.

7- In addition to his widow, Mary Clare, and his mother, Mrs. Nancy Summerville of Butler, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Catherine) Titus of Oil City and Anna Marie, at home; and two brothers, William and John D. Summerville, both of Butler. Butler.

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today at the Louis H. Osenider Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Tuesday. -Mrs. Emma Ebert OIL CITY Mrs. Emma H. Ebert, 90, formerly of Youngsville, died at 4:05 a.

m. Saturday in the Grandview Convalescent Home, Oil City. 1 She was born February 21 1881, in Berne, Switzerland, a daughter of the late Frederick and Elizabeth Yonker. She arrived in the U.S. with her fami'y at the age of nine.

She was married to George W. Ebert, and they lived In Oil City for 30 years. Mr. Ebert had been employed at Quaker State. 'He preceded her in death October 11, 1964.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Martha Allebach of Pittsburg, and Mrs. Marian Johnson of Irvine; one son, George Ebert of Titusville; one sister, Martha Kantz of Akron, Ohio; four grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren. Private funeral services were held today in Youngsville with Rev. Eugene Donelson, pastor of the Corry United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Warren County Memorial Park, Star- brick. MR. AND MRS. Married 45 years Mr. and Mrs.

Vincent V. Wnuk of 306 Jefferson St. are observing their 45th wedding anniversary today. The couple was honored at a family dinner Sunday at the Cross Creek Motor Lodge. Mr.

Wnuk and the former Crash victims is listed in fair condition Claude Grove, 83, of 608 Superior Titusville, is reported in fair condition in the intensive care unit of Hamot Hospital, Erie, following a two-car crash in Hydetown Saturday afternoon. Grove was taken to Titusville Hospital with facial lacerations and a fractured hip following the accident He was later transferred to Hamot Hospital. State police said Grove failed to stop for a stop sign and The Grove car traveled down a 22-foot embankment and overturned in Thompson Run. Admitted Michael Klingensmith, Franklin Star Route. Philbert Sterner, Oil City RD 1. Festival plans to be finalized Plans will be finalized for the 1971 Summer Festival of St. Joseph Church at a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Room 10 of the school. The remaining chairmen for the various booths and attractions will be appointed.

Chairmen also will be asked for the lists of their workers. A progress report will be made on the various advance projects, including the $1,500 in cash prizes, the "Bushel of Cheer," the portable cassette recorder player, the super colossal giant bull and the "Mile of Pennies." This year's festival will be held Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, July 14th through 17th, on the church grounds. In case of rain on any one of these eveings, the closing night automatically will become Sunday, July 18th. Proceeds will go towards the cost of repairs to the Church steeples and for work already done to repair the Rose Window. In addition, improvements must be made this summer in the school auditorium.

Fox. Miss Reed is a 1967 graduate of Oil City High School and attended Robert Morris Junior College. She is employed by the General Telephone Co. Mr. Fox is a 1965 graduate of Oil City High School and is employed by Manion Steel Barrel Works.

An August 7 wedding is planned. Farewell set for pastor A farewell reception for Rev. John Dollinger, former pastor of the Help of Christians Church, will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the parish hall. The reception is also to welcome Rev.

Richard Butryn, new pastor. VINCENT V. WNUK Mary Malek were united in marriage in the Assumption B. V. M.

Church in Oil City on June 14, 1926, by the Rev. J. M. Blacho of Dunkirk, N. Y.

Mr. Wnuk was retired from the Penn-Central Railroad in July 1970. The couple has two children, Mrs. Edward (Mary Jane) Gabrys of Franklin and Vincent J. Wnuk of Oil City.

They also have five grandchildren. Auxiliary sets picnic supper The OCAW Ladies Pennzoil Auxiliary, Local 8455, will hold a picnic supper at 6 p. m. Wednesday in Hasson Park. Janet Craft will bring the award and members are asked to remember their capsule friends.

SHARP SENTENCE ISLE OF GUERNSEY, England (UPI) Magistrate Guy Blampied sentenced an 18-year-old youth to eight strokes of a birch branch Friday on conviction of traffic violations, disorderly behavior and resisting arrest. Judge Blampied suggested a stretch the young man had already served in reform school seemed to have done no good. "A short, sharp sentence might do the trick," he said. NOON THIS CHARLES HOFFMAN Store manager OIL CITY Wolf Furniture Co. today announced the appointment of Charles Hoffman, former manager of Wolf Furniture, Brookville, as manager of the new Wolf's store at 299 Seneca St Hoffman has been with the company for 17 years and served in DuBois as assistant manager and was manager of Nanto Glo, Clarion and Brookville Wolf Furniture store.

A native of Johnstown, he attended Johnstown area schools. He and his wife, Betty, have two children; Doug and Brenda, and plan to move to Oil City. Wolf Furniture Oil City store is the company's 26th location. They serve Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. A brand name award winning retailer six of the last seven years, Wolf officials have assured this same brand name assortment for their Oil City store.

The store has located in the former Michaels Furniture Co. and will open at noon Thursday in the completely remodeled interior. The exterior of the building also has been remodeled. Earl Bechtels plan golden wedding fete Mr. and Mrs.

Earl N. Bechtel of 106 E. Seventh St. will be honored at an open reception from 1 30 to 4 30 p.m. Saturday, June 19, at the Seneca Fire Hall in observance of their 50th wedding anniversary.

The reception will be hosted by their children, Miss Helen L. Bechtel of McMinnville, Jack E. Bechtel of Erie and Earl N. Bechtel Jr. The reception is open to friends and neighbors of the couple.

Judge reports rule is vague PITTSBURGH (UPI) State Superior Court Judge Harry M. Montgomery, who celebrates his 70th birthday today, may have found a loophole in a state mandate which would require him to retire at that age. Montgomery said Friday he would assume his regular duties at the bench Monday because the state statute calling for mandatory retirement at age 70 is too "vague." He said he would step down only if the state Supreme Court issued an order outlining the full retirement procedure. Montgomery, a resident of nearby McCandless served as an Allegheny County judge before being elected to Superior Court in 1959. Third miner dies of injuries MORGANTOWN, W.Va.

(UPI) -Stephen Schuman, 29, of Fairmont died here Sunday, becoming the third victim of a roof fall Friday at the Federal No. 2 mine at Wana. Schuman had been listed in serious condition at University Hospital after his leg was amputated. Another miner hurt in the roof collapse, Robert Lee Strakel, 24, of Cassville, remained in fair condition with a back injury. Mine foreman Don Levelle, 41, of Mannington and Richard McCauley, 43, of Cassville, were killed when slate and coal fell about 830 feet inside the mine west of here.

Sunday.

Mrs. Craig is an employe of Venango Federal and her husband is a teacher in the Oil City Area School District. Other survivors along with Mrs. Robert (Nancy) Craig are Mr. Altman's wife, Mrs.

Blanche Altman, and two sons, Donald Altman of Richmond, and Willis Altman of Pitts-field, and seven grandchildren. Friends are being received in the Fox Fiuieral Home in Saxonburg. Howard Reardon Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Charles A. Morrison Funeral Home for Howard W.

Reardon, 63, of 118 Central retired refinery worker. Mr. Reardon died unexpectedly in his home Thursday. Rev. F.

LeRoy Sarver, pastor of the Good Hope Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Mr. Reardon was born in Phillipston April 14, 1908, a son of Robert R. and Anna Traister Reardon.

A veteran of World War II, he retired in June 1970 after 40 years' service with Wolf's Head Refinery. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Doris R. Hauschild of Pasco, two brothers, Norman T.

Reardon of Cleveland and Paul L. Reardon of Pasco, and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call any time today at the funeral home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p. m. today.

i Iniunes fatal to young girl The daughter of a former Oil City couple was fatally injured Friday night in a traffic accident at Chapel Hill, N.C. Pamela Jean Duncan, 18, youngest daughter of Col. and Mrs. James R. Duncan, died at 11 p.m.

Friday of injuries received in the crash less than three hours earlier. The Duncans reside at 409 Yorktown Chapel Hill. Chapel Hill. Pamela Jean was bom April 'i, 1953, and had graduated from high school last week. In addition to her parents, Col.

James R. and Jean Hanna Duncan, she is survived by two sisters, Joyce and Michelle. Services vwerej held at 11 a.m. today in St. Thomas Moore Church, Chapel Hill.

Best man at the wedding was Cabell Phillips of the New York Times. Mrs. K. R. Belch of Sloan O'Donnell of Lock Haven, gave his sister in marriage.
