Far more retired people contributed to College Republicans than to any other independent political committee regulated by the Internal Revenue Service, the tax agency's records indicate. Of the top 50 donors, the median age was 85 and 14 were 90 or older. The group campaigns for GOP causes and candidates on campus and goes door-to-door at dormitories and fraternity and sorority houses to register voters and recruit volunteers.
