He went to England to supervise the building of the long, slender and heavily powered Turbinia and came back to Canada on the steamer's maiden voyage. Leaving Sir George Witliams College in October, 1940, to join the R.C.A.F., he won his wings at Brantford, in June, 1941, and proceeded overseas. I. Trudeau Dies In 75th Year Isaiah Trudeau, manager of the department of the T. decorating, in this city for many years. died in his 75th year at his home, 5263 Cartier street, yesterday.

He had been ill for some time. Mr. Trudeau was born in Belle Riviere, and was educated at Pointe-aux-Trembles College. In 1911 he joined the staff of Goodwin's, Limited, as an executive officer, and remained with that firm until it merged with the T. Eaton Company, In 1925, at which time he was appointed manager of the decorating department.

He retained this post until two years ago, when he was granted sick leave. In 1894 he married the former Lillian Arthur of Montreal, who died in 1942. Active community work, he was a life member of Waverly Lodge, A.F.A.M.; a member of the Fairmount Chapter, Royal Arch Mason; a Shriner; and a member Melita Preceptory. Mr. Trudeau leaves: a son, Victor; two daughters, Mrs.

Hayward Dansereau and Miss Olive Trudeau; a brother, Elie, of Dominion Oil Cloth Linoleum and a granddaughter, Miss Audrey Dansereau. Rev. Harvey Campbell will conduct the funeral service, to be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow in Emmanuel Church. Burial will be in Belle Riviere.

P. Rothschild, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Rothschild, of Montreal, and St. Johns, been reported severely wounded in France according to word received here by his parents.

A graduate of Westmount High School, McGill University, and Royal Military College, he enlisted at the outbreak of war and was posted on the Atlantic Coast as anti-aircraft gunner instructor. Major Rothschild was a member of the Canadian advance party that left Canada for overseas in November, 1939, to prepare for arrival of first contingent. He is a graduate of the first Canadian Junior Officers' Staff College in England. Woman Dies After Ontario Boat Rescue MINAKI, Ont, Aug. 8 (C.P.) Mrs.

Harriet Campbell, 52, of Winnipeg, died of a heart attack here Sunday following sinking of the Holst Point boat on which she had been a passenger. The boat hit a submerged rock and sank almost immediately. All 17 passengers on board reached shore safely. Mrs, Campbell died three hours later. The sinking occurred late Sunday afternoon and the passengers were taken to Holst Point in boats which came to their aid.

Nonswimmers were assisted by those who could swim until the rescue boats arrived. Bomb Explodes Killing Youngster UPPER BELMONT, N.S., Aug. 8 -(CP)-A trench mortar bomb exploded when two youngsters tried to dismantle it in a barn here last night, killing one of the youngsters and critically injuring the other. Nine-year-old Eric Staples was killed almost instantly and Frank Staples, 14, his cousin, was seriously hurt when the bomb went off as they tinkered with it after clamping it in a vise. The boys had found the missile while playing about the Staples home in this village near Truro.

Air Marshal Boyd Dies in Britain LONDON, Aug. 8-(B. U. Air Marshal Owen Tudor Boyd, 54, who was captured in Sicily in 1940 and escaped from an Italian prison camp, died Saturday, his family announced today. With Gen.

Sir Richard O'Connor and Lieut. -Gen. Philip Neame he escaped from prison camp at the time of Italy's surrender. His duties since his escape and the cause of his death were not announced. Fernand Dostie, 28, who has been reported wounded in Normandy, according to word received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexandre Dostle, of 3702 St. Denis street. After two years with the McGill C.O.T.C., he took an O.T.C.

course at Brockville, where he was commissioned in 1942. He went overseas in 1943 and was posted to Les Fusiliers MontRoyal.
