William Baird Killed Overseas Sgt. William Douglas Baird, 33, R.C.A.F., has been killed active service overseas, according to an official report received by his wife who lives at 215G street west. He- wast the son Mr. Norman Baird, of Toronto, and o. the late Mrs.

Baird. His death occurred in England and burial 1 0 0 place at Harrogate, Yorkshire, Sgt. W. D. Baird in the R.A.F.

cemetery plot. Enlisting in August, 1942, Sergeant Baird trained at Jarvis and Toronto and received his bombardier's wing at Malton, going overseas in November, 1943. His wife was formerly Miss Dorothy Hillhouse, of Waterloo, Ont. Four Fishermen Drown in N.B. RICHIBUCTO, N.B., June 14-- (C.P.) Four fishermen from Richibucto Cape were drowned in Northumberland Strait yesterday when their motorboat capsized in heavy seas.

The victims were Gilbert Belliveau, 69, Simon Allain, 46, Yvon Richard, 19, and Norman Babineau, 18. A fifth occupant of the boat, Arthur Richard, fat? or of Yvon, was rescued. Walter, Goalen. who was born and educated in this city and whose father, Frederick Lawford, was a well-known Montreal architect for many years, died recently at Epsom, Surrey, England. She had been residing with her sister, Miss Frederica E. Lawford, and had been active in voluntary war work until the time of her death. Her brother, the late.

John B. Lawford, a surgeon who practised in London for many years, wAs a graduate of McGill University, who was given an honorary LL.D. in 1921. She is survived by several relatives. Among them are two cousins, C.

H. Low and G. S. Low, of Chambly. Ross MacLeod Dies at Quebec QUEBEC, June Ross MacLeod, Quebec chairman of the English unit of the National War Finance Committee, died yesterday when he fell from the roof of his home here.

Mr. MacLeod was fixing an aerial when he fell to a first storey balcony where he was found a few hours later. It was believed he had suffered a heart attack. A well-known Quebec businessman, he was associated with the Canadian Alliance Corporation here for about 40 years he also was a past president of the Kiwanis Club. Maj.

Unidentified Body, Found in River QUEBEC, June -The unidentified body of a man was discovered floating in the St. Lawrence River yesterday by the crew of a small schooner.

The man is belleved to be one of the six crew members, drowned last week when the schooner Frisedale sunk off Berthier, 30 miles east of Quebec on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River. Three bodies were found to date.
