KILLED IN ACTION: Capt. Jesse Whittingham, who had served 14 years with the 7th Rec'ce Regiment (17th Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars), has been killed in action. He had been overseas since August, 1941. Besides his parents Mr. and Mrs.

E. J. Doulton, of 672 First avenue, Verdun, he is survived his wife, the former Hazel Skates; three sisters, Mrs. N. B.

Ashton, Mrs. R. Eaglesham and Miss Peggie Doulton, of Verdun; and a brother, Lieut. C. W.

Doulton, serving in the Hussars overseas. Before going on active service, he was on the staff of the Sun Life Assurance Company, of Canada. Pte. L. V.

He was serving on the Western Front, Private Porter, 26, formerly of The Black Watch, was serving in the Princess Louise Dragoon Guards in Italy, The son of Mrs. Jessie Porter, of Montreal, he received his education at the Institut Evangelique and Mont. St. College.

Private Morantz, R.C.0.C., is the son of, Mr. and Mrs. B. Morantz, 5438 Esplanade avenue. He enlisted in 1942 and went overseas to the Western Front six months later, Private McGuigan, of the Lincoln and Welland Regiment, was serving on the Western Front.

He is the son of Mrs. J. McGuigan, and the late James McGuigan. His wife and infant live at 5164 Decarie boulevard. He enlisted in September, 1943, and went overseas last August.

Cpl. J. A. McKenzie Reported Killed Cpl. J.

A. H. McKenzie, 22, of the 7th Ree'ce Regiment (17th Duke of York's Royal Canadian Hussars) is reported to have killed on the Western Front. He had only returned to his unit after suffering wounds a few days before being killed. The son of Mr.

and Mrs. J. K. McKenzie, of 4058 Grey Cpl. J.

McKenzie avenue, Corporal McKenzie was a member' of Dominion Douglas Church. He received his education at the High School of Montreal and Westmount High, and was employed by the Royal Bank of Canada when he enlisted in May, 1941, at the age of 18. He had been overseas since August of that year. SBA Harold Chizy Dies Overseas SBA H. I.

Chizy Sick Berth Attendant Harold Irving Chizy, 20, R.C.N.V.R., whose death overseas was reported Saturday, but was not explained in a despatch which recorded the funeral of 10 Canadians and four British sailors at Dunfermline, Scotland. Son of Abraham Chizy, of 4883 Clark street, recation Mount ceived his, eduRoyal public won a scholarship to Strathearn High School, and then went to Commercial High and McGill University. He had been only a year at McGill when joined the R.C.N.V.R. at the age of 18. He was serving on a British warship when he died.

Roger Morin, 22, R.C.A.F., has been reported killed action on the Western Front. Son of Mr. and Mrs. C. Morin, of 5559 Laurendeau street, he enlisted the air force in 1942 and went overseas early this year.

He has two brothers in the service, Viateur Morin and WO Hector Morin, both wireless air gunners. A. Sugden Reported Dead Staff Sgt. Albert Sugden, Royal Canadian Artillery, is repor LO have died on active service overseas. He was serving on the Western Front.

Born in Valleyfield, he received hi education at the Gault Institute and entlisted in the Canadian Army Sept. 4, 1939. He had been ovrseas since January, 1940, Staff Sergeant Sugden a A. Sugden married overseas, and is survived by his wife and a small daughter living in England. Also surviving are his parents, Mr.

and Mrs. Samuel Sugden, of Valleyfield, a brother, Percy, and a sister, Mrs. W. 'Allen Walsh, of Montreal. Nestruck WOUNDED: Two local soldiers wounded in action overseas are shown above. Sergeant Blake, an outstanding athlete and member of the C.P.R. Athletic Association, was serving with The Black Watch (R.H.R.) of Canada. His wife lives at 36 Boulevard St. Rose, St.

Rose. Sergeant Blake joined up in 1941 and went overseas early in 1943. He was born in Farnham and educated there and in Montreal. It was only on Saturday that official notification came that he had been awarded the Military Medal for outstanding leadership and gallantry. Sergeant Nestruck, 25, formerly of the Royal Montreal Regiment (M.G.) with which he went overseas in 1939, was serving with the 7th Ree'ce Regiment (17th Duke of York's R.C.H.).
