The scheme of Combined Operations is so simple that all school children, except those of the youngest grades, can follow every detail. Yet it is devised to teach the broad strategy of modern warfare. So much SO that parents have remarked that their youngsters are often inclined to know more about certain aspects of invasion and field manoeuvres than they do themselves. In essence the game is similar to the older one of "dressing a soldier." In that game, a soldier in G.I. underwear was dressed garment by garment as each item was paid for in war savings stamps.

In the game, values are assigned to various sectors of territory, and progress is assessed in terms of stamps bought. KILLED: E.
