League Needs $150,000 To Continue Its Work With the aid of the new photofluoroscopic apparatus obtained by the Montreal Anti-Tuberculosis League, Incorporated 1,500 employes of the Robert Mitchel! Company have been X-rayed within two weeks and when the slightest indication of tuberculosis is to detected steps are taken not only the cure the patient but to prevent spread of the disease among other workers, In contrast with the rapidity of this examination the league points out that in the previous eight months 3,000 em ployes were examined at clinics. The new apparatus is taken to plant, and it is the desire of the league to purchase another machine. To do this the league is making an appeal for $150,000 for it. work during the coming year, and although the campaign has been in progress for a month the results to date are not satisfactory. It was stated today that hardly two-fifths of those solicited had answered the appeal and it is hoped that now that the Christmas rush is over the public will remember the league and respond generously.

Indicative of appreciation of the public was an incident at the Royal Edward Laurentian Hospital, where one of the many citizens who are helping the league dropped in to talk with the sick children there. The children asked if some Christmas seals could be brought to them. and the following day the little patients, ranging from seven to 12 years. bought Christmas Seals. This so touched the salesman that he bought Christmas trees to decorate the rooms.

The campaign directors suggest that the public should follow the example set by the children and do what they can to help protect their own lives and those of their wives and Wedd Suggested As Agent-General TORONTO, Dec. 29--(C.
