Words Music By JOHN B. CALLAGHAN With the coming of fall, there's one musical treat that a lot of sports fans have to look forward to and that's the school marching band. No matter what happens in the game, there's sure to be a lot of fun and festivity generated by the half-time and "time out" entertainment of the school bands. Today's school and college. bands are a far cry from those of yesterday.

Once upon a time it was enough for the marching band to march in a straight line over the field, turn around and come back again playing the school song and maybe couple standard Sousa marches. Then things started to get a little more showmanlike. Bands would form letters and other patterns and the repertoire was expanded. Today's marching school bands even do dance steps while they play and march. And their music runs the full course from the school song to the latest popular hit with some "classics" thrown in.

All of this is done, mind you, with only a relatively short period of rehearsals to learn to play and march In perfect co-ordination. That's real musical achievement! For wonderful musical achievement of another kind, we invite you to come in and try the amazing HAMMOND Electric Organ, You can play yourself without any previous music instruction. And there's a Hammond model for every purpose. PENLONG BEACH. Atlantic NEY-OWSLEY MUSIC, co.
