Ernest E. Fairman, Rosemount avenue, are expected home next Monday, after spending month in Atlantic City, guests at the Marlborough Blenheim. Mrs. Campbell MacDougall and Miss Beatrice MacDougall, who are guests at present at the Hotel Dennis, Atlantic City, are expected home about April 14. Mrs.

L. A. Taschereau, of Quebec, who has been visiting her daughter, Mra. Louis P. Gelinas, leaving tonight for Atlantic City.

Mr. and Mrs. Gelinas will spend Easter there. Mr. and Mrs.

Crawford Johnson, who are at present in New York, after spending several weeks in Bermuda, guests at the Elbow Beach Hotel, are expected home on Friday morning. Mr. and Mrs. E. W.

Gilman have returned from Augusta, Georgia, where they spent some time and have again taken up their residence at the Ritz-Carlton. The inaugural luncheon of the American Women's Club is being held on Wednesday, April 16, at one 0 clock In the Rose Room of the Windsor Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. F.

E. Murray Smith and Miss Joan Murray Smith are at Virginia Beach, guests at the Cavalier, and will be away until the middie of next week. Mrs. William Sistrom, of Hollywood, California, is arriving in the city today and will be the guest of her sister, Mrs. Neil A.

Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Alves, who have been guests at the Brandon Inn, Erandon, for the last two weeks, have returned to town. Mr.

and Mrs. Russell D. Bell have returned from Jamaica and Nassau, the Bahamas, where they spent several weeks. Mr. Jules Hamel and Mr.

Alphonse Jongers arrived home this after a month's trip to Demerara, passengers on the Lady Mr. and Mra. Warwick F. Chipman arrived home this morning after a month's stay in Bermuda. They were accompanied by their four children.

Miss Betty Jamieson 19 arriving home today from Compton to spend the Easter holidays with her mother, Mrs. C. C. Alloway. Mr.

and Mrs. Keith Mercer and Major and Mrs. P. A. Curry are leaving on Saturday by motor for a week's stay in Atlantic City.

Mr. and Mra. John F. Savage, Miss Betty Savage, and Mr. Gordon Savage are leaving today to spend a week in Atlantic City.

Dr. and Mra. H. A. Sinclair have returned to town after a short trip to New York and Atlantic City, Mr.

and Mrs. W. O. Ryde are at Virginia Beach, guests at the Cavalier, and will bo away until after Easter. Mra.

C. M. Hays and Miss Hays, who have been spending the winter in Pasadena, California, are expected home on April 27. Mrs. A.

M. Mackay, Montclair avenue, sailed yesterday from New York for Italy and an extended trip on the Continent. Mrs. J. J.

Todd, Ontario avenue, who is visiting her sister, Mrs. Leonard Hancock in England, is expected home on Easter Monday, Mrs. William Wright, Metcalfe Avenue, Westmount, is spending three months with her sister, Mrs. Gates, at Araconda, Montana. Mrs.

R. C. Ronalds returned home this morning from North Carolina, where ahe spent a month. Miss Hazel Ibbotson1 visiting Mrs. Paul Powis in Dundas, Ont.

AT THE CAPITAL OTTAWA, April Robert and Lady Borden returned home yesterday after spending the past few months in the Southern States. The Hon. R. B. Bennett intends leaving at the end of the week for the West and Miss Mildred Bennett will Sackville, N.B., to spend the Easter holidays.

Miss Elizabeth Bishop, who has been spending the winter in Denver, Colorado, with her sister, Mra. Robinson, has returned to town. Miss Jessie Buxton-Smith, of Kingston, is the guest of Colonel and Mrs. Boak and will return to her home at the end of the weelt. Miss Laura Smith is spending seveval weeks in Atlantic City.

Finnie are back in town again after a few weeks' bollday in Bermuda. Miss Mildred Bennett WAS hostess yesterday at a very delightful luncheon in honor of the wives of some of the Members of Parliament, who are spending the, sessional months in town. The luncheon was given in the Tudor room at the Chateau Laurier and the table was artistically arranged with pale yellow linen and large bowls filled with white calla lillies. Covers were laid for thirty-four. A bridge and tea was given yesterday afternoon in the Quebec suite of the Chateau Laurier by Mrs.

F. W. Gershaw, wife of the Member of Parlament for Medicine Hat, who was wearing a lovely dres of cornflower blue with a black hat: Mrs. J. Fred Johnston, wife of the Member of Parliament for Long Lake, in beige lace with a black hat, and Mrs.

C. E. Bothwell, wife of the Member for Swift Current, wearing a black flowered silk and black hat. At the tea hour the pretty table was presided over by Mrs. T.

A. Crerar, Mrs. Charles Stewart, Mrs. Robert Forke and Mrs. John Millar, assisted by Miss Kathleen Stewart, Miss Margaret Shaw, of Toronto, Miss Gladys Northcott and Miss Helen Byrnes.

The Ottawa branch of the Canadian Women's Press Club held the last of their meetings in the Daffodil Tea Room last night, a large number being present. Miss Isabel Armatrong presided and the address was given by Mrs. I. M. B.

Thompson. Several visitors were present including Mrs. Charles Stewart, Dr. Henderson, who is in town from Australia; Mr. Thorson, M.P., and Mrs.

Thorson, and Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Deachman.

It was announced that one of the members, Mrs. C. B. Waagen, has been chosen to attend the meeting of the Imperial Red Cross in London, England, and will leave shortly. And a note of wympathy was sent to Miss Marshall Saunders, of Toronto, who de in town this week, having come to attend the funeral of her brother, Mr.

The marriage of Mrs. Rockett Power of Quebec, to Mr. E. L. Johnston, also of this city, will take place very quietly in June.

TORONTO. Awakening to find herself violently Ill from coal fumes escaping from the furnace, Mrs. Leonard Duffy dragged herself from her bed to the telephone and called for aid. When police responded her two children, three and ten years of age, were unconscious, but later recovered in hospital. Major and Mrs. Cowan will be In town the end of May. IN TORONTO TORONTO, April mourning having been ordered in connection with the death of the late Queen Victoria of Sweden, all official and social functions at Government House have been cancelled until and inciuding the 16th instant: and His Honor the Lieutenant-Governor has accordingly cancelled all engagements previously made within that period. For this reason the Lieutenant-Governer and Mrs. Ross did not attend the performance of "Poverello" at the Princess Theatre last night.

Mr. J. E. Ganong returned on Sunday after spending several weeks in Florida. Mrs.

HON. J. E. ROBERGE IN MOTOR MISHAP QUEBEC, April Special)Hon. J.

E. Roberge is in hospital as the result of an automobile accident on Monday afternoon. Mr. Roberge who was alighting. from his car, was struck by another machine, and thrown to the ground.

Ross Malcolm, have returned to their home in Toronto. They recently arrived back from a trip to Havana and the West Indies, via New York.
