The News Tribune Sunday October 19 1997 C3 Aces get mad and get even with Sahercats: Jaw Lmraci The News Tribune posure We finally lost ours We started yelling at the referee and Anchorage got some momentum going We just couldnt stop On a power play to open the third period Anchorage scored again This time Dean Lareon deflected a shot in the slot at 1:04 to make it 5-3 they came in a bunch but dont blame Simchuk The first goal came during a five-on-three situation with Sean Rowe burying a shot blocker pad at 3:06 of the second period At 1034 Rowe tied the game alter some sloppy Tacoma play at mid-ice Dean Larson picked up a loose puck and fed Rowe fin a breakaway goal He faked Simchuk to the ke and clanked a shot from right wing offthe left poet and it was quickly 2-2 Anchorage goon Chad Richards went berserk and attacked center Dan Shermerhom and was given seven minutes in penalties Jim Gattolliat converted the power play goal from the point at 1222 for a 3-2 lead However Alexei Podalinski promptly gave away a five-minute assist with a nice centering pas from left wing The irony was that the goals came on first two power plays-though the Sabercats were con-' stantly slashed and roughed by the Aces while referee Blade Wallace let it go Notes Simchuk got called up to the Lai Vfegu Thunder but only for one gamer Hell be bed Monday and reedy for the' Sabercats' game at Boise Wednesday against tip Idaho Steelheads Defenseman Brent Bilodeau eras also called up because of an injury problem at Vegas Bilodeau's return is not certain The first question after Simchuk's play here was: he doing at this level?
