THE PANTAGRAPH, MONDAY, MAY 23, 1983 DEATHS CENTRAL ILLINOIS Mildred Sparks FISHER (PNS) Mildred Beatrice Sparks, 75, Fisher, died yesterday (May 22, 1983) at Mercy Hospital, Urbana. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lux Memorial Chapel, Rantoul, the Rev. Don Wilkin officiating. Burial will be in Willow Brook Cemetery, Fisher.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the memorial chapel. She was born Sept. 20, 1907, at Mattoon, a daughter of William A. and Almeda Etta Ellis Shadwick. She married Leslie C.

Sparks Jan. 24, 1926, at Mattoon. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, Kenneth M. and Robert both of Fisher; a sister, Mrs.

Paul Wright, Neoga; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Four brothers preceded her in death. Mrs. Sparks and her husband owned the Fisher Reporter until their retirement in 1973. She was a member of Fisher Woman's Club.

Memorials may be made to Mercy Hospital's Hospice Program, Urbana. Ruth P. Prather MAROA Ruth P. Prather, 85, R.R. 2, died at 6:20 p.m.

Saturday (May 21, 1983) at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Her funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dawson and Wikoff Funeral Home, the Rev. Duey Zinn officiating. Burial will be in Maroa Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born Sept. 18, 1897, in the daughter of Harry and Emma Myers Sheilds. She married Roy Prather Feb.

23, 1916, in Decatur. He survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Esther Brown, Urbana, and Louise Bloom, Fort Meade, and a brother, Harry Sheilds, Fort Meade, Fla. A brother and two sisters preceded her in death. She was a member of Boiling Springs Church of God, Decatur.

Michael Cobb CLINTON Michael Allen Cobb, 20, of 417 W. Washington was dead at 6:09 a.m. yesterday (May 22, 1983) in his car. A gun was found nearby. Foul play is not suspected.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Clinton Free Methodist Church, the Rev. Dale V. Griggs officiating. Burial will be in Baptist Cemetery, Kenney.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Herington-Calvert Funeral Home. He was born May 18, 1963, in Clinton, the son of James and Joan Bass Cobb. They survive.

Also surviving are a brother, James L. Cobb, Clinton; and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Edison Cobb, Clinton; and Pauline Bass, Kampsville. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather.

Mr. Cobb was member of Lane Christian Church and was a 1981 graduate of Clinton Community High School. He was employed at the Kerr-McGee Service Station, Clinton. Memorials may be made to the Clinton Ambulance Service. William E.

Schwering STREATOR (PNS) William E. Schwering, 22, R.R. 3, died at 11 a.m. yesterday (May 22, 1983) at his home. He had been under a doctor's care.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Church, Eagle Township, the Rev. James Swaner officiating. Burial will be in Lostlands Cemetery, rural Streator. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m.

Tuesday at Solon Funeral Home, where a wake service will be at 7 p.m. He was born Aug. 10, 1960, at Streator, a son of Harry and Anna Eisert Schwering. Surviving are his parents, Streator; and a sister, Nancy Shute, Ottawa. Mr.

Schwering was a lifelong Streator-area resident. He owned and operated Kangley Inn. He was a 1978 graduate of Streator High School. He was a member of Annunciation Church and the Knights of Columbus. STREATOR (PNS) Ruth Javorsky, 82, of 915 Charles died at 3 a.m.

yesterday (May 22, 1983) at St. Mary's Hospital. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Solon Funeral Home. Burial will be in St.

Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born Jan. 23, 1901, at Magnolia, a daughter of George and Louise Defenbaugh Hull.

She married John Javorsky Sept. 21, 1920, at Streator. He died in 1952. Surviving are a daughter, Betty Maskel, Streator; a brother, Marion Hull, DeKalb; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Mrs.

Javorsky was a member of Streator Royal Neighbors of America. Fern Miller Ruth Javorsky DANVERS (PNS) The funeral of Fern Miller, 90, of 305 E. Exchange who died Saturday (May 21, 1983), will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Danvers, the Rev. Elmer Wall and the Rev.

George Classen officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. She was born June 28, 1892, at Covell, a daughter of John and Emma Piper Barclay. She married Edwin Miller March 5, 1919, at Carlock.

He survives. Also surviving are a niece, whom she raised, Evelyn Gaskill, Decatur; and a sister, Aurelle Bannister, Lansing, Mich. A nephew, whom she raised, and a brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Miller was a member of the Christian Church.

She attended North Danvers Mennonite Church. She and her husband farmed northwest of Normal for 52 years, moving to Danvers in 1971. A Stanford High School graduate, she had been a member of McLean County Home Extension since 1919, and was a member of Garfield Social Club. Memorials may be made to Danvers Ambulance Squad or a charity of the donor's choice. Madison died at 6:30 p.m. Saturday (May 21, 1983) at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mason Funeral Home, the Rev. Bob Rezash officiating.

Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. He was born May 7, 1913, at DuQuoin, a son of Robert and Emma Head Glidewell. He married Denise Gosson Sept. 5, 1945, at Liancourt, France.

She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Marsha Bussen, Peoria; two sons, John, Metamora, and Michael, with the U.S. Army in Aschaffenburg, Germany; a brother, Rufus, Indianapolis; and a grandson. A brother and four sisters preceded him in death. Mr.

Glidewell was a World War II Army veteran and was a retired truck driver for McBride Shoff Machine Shop, Metamora. John William Cox WAYNESVILLE John William Cox, 76, of Waynesville, died at 2:10 p.m. Saturday (May 21, 1983) at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Lincoln, where he had been a patient two weeks. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Quiram Funeral Home, the Rev.

Gary Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. He was born July 1, 1906, at rural Atlanta, the son of William and Emma McCance Cox. He married Effie Mildred Rich October 1925 at Waukegan.

She survives. Also surviving are a son, John Lincoln; two daughters, Lila Bruns, Hartsburg; and Janette Evans, Atlanta; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and a granddaughter. Mr. Cox was a retired farmer and implement dealer.

He was a member of Waynesville Christian Church. Memorials may be made to the church or the American Heart Association. Larry Lee Heath LINCOLN Larry Lee Heath, 26, Lincoln, died at 8:10 a.m. yesterday (May 22, 1983) in the cab of a truck in the garage at his home. Logan Couny Coroner Edward Barry said death appeared to be due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fricke-CalvertSchrader Funeral Home, the Rev. Van J. Frownfelter officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. He was born Jan. 7, 1957, at Lincoln, a son of Harley and Irene Mammen Heath Jr. He married Rhonda Carlin Jan.

Also surviving are his parents, Lincoln; a daughter, Sondra, at home: two brothers, his twin, Terry, and Jerry, both of Lincoln; a sister, Judy Mileham, Lincoln; a half brother, Ronald Patterson, Normal; and grandparents, Anna Mammen, Lincoln; Midge Lazzell, Phoenix, and Harley Heath Phoenix. His maternal granfather preceded him in death. Mr.

Heath was a carpenter for R.B. Evans, Springfield. Etta Rabideau GILMAN (PNS) Etta Rabideau, 90, of Gilman died at 4:45 p.m. yesterday (May 22, 1983) at Gilman Nursing home, where she was a resident. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Gilman, the Rev. Dominic Morrissette officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, L'Erable. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Tuesday at Reilly Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. She was born March 23, 1893, in Ashkum Township, a daughter of John and Mary Langele Delahaute. She married Calyx Rabideau Aug. 22, 1909, at L'Erable. He died Nov.

3, 1956. Surviving are two daughters, Beulah Geegan, Oracle, and Marjorie Geegan, Phoenix, seven grandchildren; 12 greatgrandchildren; and a great-greatgrandchild. She was preceded in death by two sons, a daughter, two brothers, two sisters and a great great grandchild. Mrs. Rabideau had attended Ashkum rural schools.

She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Gilbert M. Johnson COLFAX (PNS) Gilbert M. Johnson, 59, of 312 Euclid a teacher at Octavia High School, died Sunday (May 22, 1983) at his home, after suffering an apparent heart attack. His funeral will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Rev. Gerald Verdun officiating. Burial will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Streator.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Duffy- Funeral Home, Colfax, where a Christian wake service will be at 7 p.m. He was born April 29, 1924, at Cornell, a son of Harm Henry and Mary C. Limberg Johnson. He married Frances Venegone Aug.

30, 1947, in Eagle Township, near Streator. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Regina C. Bellott, Streator; a son, Byron Mount Sterling; four brothers, Orville and Irwin, both of Cornell; Harold, Streator; and Clarence, Long Point; two sisters, Evelyn Folkes and Vera Love, both of Streator; and seven grandchildren. His parents and two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Johnson was a World War II Marine Air Corps veteran. He taught social studies for 34 years at Octavia High School. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, where he served as a parish trustee.

He also was a member of Illinois, National and Octavia educational associations. Memorials may be made to the church, the religious education center of the church or Eastern McLean County Ambulance Association. REPORTED SUNDAY FRANK G. today at Sunnyslope Cemetery. GILBERT E. CASE, 77, Long Point, died Friday (May 20, 1983). His funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Winterrowd Funeral Home.

Burial will be in Long Point Cemetery. JOEL F. GUDEMAN, 87, Fairbury, died Thursday (May 19, 1983). His funeral will be at 10 a.m. today at Elgin Apostolic Christian Church.

Tuesday at Froelich Memorial Home, Gridley. Burial will be in Gridley Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the memorial home.

Ex-Ford Co. official Marshall Bute dies KEMPTON (PNS) Marshall K. Bute, 74, of Kempton, a former member of the Ford County Board, died at 4:20 a.m. yesterday (May 22, 1983) at St. James Hospital, Pontiac, where he had been a pateint three days.

His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, Cullom, the Rev. Marvin Ackerman and the Rev. Irvin Kearns officiting.

Burial will be in Kempton Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Stewart Funeral Home, and an hour before the service at the church. He was born Sept.

18, 1908, at Kempton, a son of Elmer K. and Gertrude Weirs Bute. He married Irene Wagner June 10, 1939, at Cullom. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Marsha Kye Gualandi of Kempton; a brother, L.

Maxwell Bute of San Francisco; and a grandson. In addition to serving on the County Board until 1982, Mr. Bute was a former trustee of Mona Township, a trustee of the Kempton Fire Protection District, a former member of the Kempton Village Board, a former member. of the board of trustees of the Kempton Co-op and a former member of the board of Farmers Pioneer Insurance Co. He also was a member of St.

John's Lutheran Church and Moose Lodge No. 802, and was president of the board of trustees of Kempton Hill Cemetery.
