failures much higher Canadian Press TORONTO Liabilities of Canadian companies which declared bankruptcy in the first quarter of 1970 increased 715 per cent from the debit figures of businesses which went belly-up in the corresponding period of last year Statistics released by Dun and Bradstreet of Canada Ltd Toronto show liabilities of $69519000 among 621 business failures in the first three months of the year up from $40528000 among 550 bankruptcies in the similar period of 1969 Ontario and Quebec accounted for a total of 552 of the first-quarter failures The four Maritime provinces
