Ron was the owner and sole proprietor of ASHCO a HVACR installation and service company. His specialty was commercial restaurant equipment, the service master of his field. A family man, who loved his home, Ron was easy to please.

BLOOMINGTON-NORMAL Ronald 'Ron' L. Ashenbremer te-a- BLOOMING-P TON Ronald "Ron" L. Ashenbremer, 66, of Bloomington passed away suddenly on Tuesday (Oct.

29, 2013) at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center, Normal. church. The family suggests memorials be given to Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury, or Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest. Mrs. Kupferschmid-Kyburz was born May 17, 1911, in Francesville, the daughter of William and Ida Alt Bachtold.

She married William Kupfer-schmid on May 16, 1937. He died Aug. 27, 1980. She then married John Kyburz on Sept. 30, 1987.

He died June 22, 1993. Survivors include her children, Orville (Mar-lene) Kupferschmid, Pontiac; Marilyn (Fred) Ruegsegger, Bay City, Velda (Don) Hish, Normal; Betty Ifft, Cornell; Bill (Celeste) Kupferschmid, Fairbury; Dean (Robin) Kupferschmid, Forrest; Richard (Maribeth) Kupferschmid, Eureka; and Alfred (Wanda) Kupferschmid, Forrest; two stepchildren, Marjorie (Henry) Friedman, Fairbury, and Marilyn (Harold) Scott of Maine; 29 grandchildren; 14 stepgrandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; many stepgreat-grandchildren; 12 great-greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Laura Kupferschmid, Eureka, and Juanita Koehl of Ohio. She was preceded in death by one son and daughter-in-law, Gary (Rebecca Kaisner) Kupferschmid; son-in-law, Warren Ifft; eight brothers; two sisters; one stepdaughter; three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren Mrs. Kupferschmid-Kyburz was a homemaker and worked at Fairview Haven Retirement Community for a number of years. Her hobbies included needle work.

She was a member of Apostolic Christian Church, Forrest. Her life was a display of love for the Lord, her church and her family. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. Saturday (Nov. 2, 2013) at his home. A Mass a 1 Home, Robert Kline Bishop Aaron Sorenson will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, LeRoy. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m.

He married Dora Jean Waters on Dec. 4, 1947, in Normal. She passed away Feb. 12, 1981. He later married Carol J.

Chicquette on June 12, 1982, in Bloomington. She survives in Bloomington. Survivors include one son, Edward (Vicki) Kline, LeRoy; three daughters, Katherine (Terry Ankrom) Kline, Decatur; Martha (Brian) Sorenson, Fallon, and Linda (Greg) Whitaker, Fallon, one stepdaughter, Barbara (Duane) Terrell, Coastville, one stepson, Dean (Linda) Chicquette, Maricopa, 13 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; nine stepgreat -grandchildren; two brothers, Harry (Barbara) Kline and John (Betty) Kline, all of LeRoy; and one sister, Eleanor Fox, San Diego. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert was a World War II Army veteran and was awarded two Bronze Stars.

He served with the infantry at the Island of Leyte in the Philippines and also served in Okinawa. He was a retired farmer in the LeRoy area. He was a member of First Christian Church, Bloomington; the McLean County Farm Bureau, where he held several offices; Ellsworth American Legion Post No, 1244; LeRoy Sportsman's Club; LeRoy Country Club; and Lakeside Country Club. Robert also served as an Empire Township justice of the peace as a clerk and a director of the McLean County Fair. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Apostolic Christian Church, Fairbury, with ministers of the church officiating.

Burial will be in Fairbury Apostolic Christian Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall, Fairbury, and 9 to 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to Fairview Haven Retirement Fairbury.

Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is in charge of arrangements. Warren was born Oct. 7, 1923, in Strawn, the son of Silas and Elizabeth Kuen-zi Hartman. He married Mable Winterland on Dec. 7, 1947, in Fairbury.

She died July 5, 1964. He then married Louise Menold on Sept. 14, 1966, in Peoria. She survives in Fairbury. Nettie B. FORREST Nettie B. Kupferschmid-Kyburz, 102, of Fairbury, formerly of Forrest where she had resided with her son and daughter-in-law from 1993 to 2012, died at 7:20 a.m. Friday (Nov. 1, 2013) at Fairview Haven Retirement Community, Fairbury.

Julius was drafted into the German army in August 1944, when Hitler invaded his homeland. Instead of going to the front, Julius was trained as an interpreter to translate Hungarian for German soldiers. He also trained others to become interpreters. By the time Germany surrendered in 1945, Julius had been captured by American soldiers. He spent four months as an American prisoner of war.

After the war, Julius was reluctant to return to Hungary, fearing the Russians would send him to Siberia. He sailed from Genoa, Italy, in December 1949, and arrived in New York through Ellis Island on Friday, Jan. 13, 1950. He spent four years working with his uncle, Peter Pfaff, at Pete's Bakery in Milwaukee. This is where he met his wife, Lois.

Julius soon learned of an opportunity to open his own bakery in Illinois. On April 15, 1954, he opened the door of Pfaff 's Bakery on Mill Street in Pontiac. In 2001, he sold the business to family members who kept the tradition go -ing. He retired from the bakery in 1993. He was a life member of Pontiac Elks Club and St.

Dalen Shellhammer, 90, of Mount Pulaski died at 3:59 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 30, 2013)atVonder-lieth Living Center, Mount Pulaski. Masonic service: 6 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski.

A devoted husband, kind father and fun grandfather, Ron spent countless hours with his beloved grandchildren, enjoying each moment.

Words can never express our sorrow or how much we will miss him. He was taken from us much too soon; yet he leaves behind his undying love and wisdom. He is our rock. Ron was an easy-going, humble man who never judged others. He loved the great outdoors, nature and respected all God's creatures.

When recently diagnosed with multiple cancers and a grim future, Ron kept the faith, gallantly fought and never complained. God called our Hero home The angels lifted him up. Kelley Cawood NORMAL Kelley C. Cawood, 78, of Normal died at 9:18 a.m. Wednesday (Oct.

Gregory Gazelle BLOOMINGTON Gregory L. Gazelle, 52, of Yulee, formerly of Bloomington, died Oct. 14, 2013 at his home. Memorial service: 11 a.m., Saturday at Tri-Val-ley Baptist Church, Bloomington. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society. Ron was born in Pontiac, on July 26, 1947, to George Jr. and Betty Lebo Ashenbremer. He married Becki Fields on Dec 3, 1971, at St. Mary's Church, Bloomington.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Ashenbremer, Bloomington; wife and soul mate, Becki Ashenbremer, Bloomington; two children, Dawn Belmar, Downs, and Aaron Ashenbremer, Bloomington; four grandchildren, Joshua Belmar, Nashville; Brandi Belmar, Downs; Deacon Ashenbremer, Atlanta; and Charlize Ashenbremer, Atlanta; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Ashenbremer, Heyworth, and Paul Ashenbremer, Bloomington; and one sister born on his birthday, Mary Ann (Mike) Folks, Bloomington. He is also survived by his two spoiled dogs, Buster and Minnie. He was preceded in death by his father. Ron attended school in Pontiac and after graduation enlisted in the U.S. Air Force serving from 1966 to 1970.

Ron proudly served in Detachment II, 38 Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squad. Stationed in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive, he rescued and recovered downed pilots and activated unexploded ordnance. Ron received the Air Force Commendation Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. He also served in the 4th Strat Aerospace Division as a helicopter mechanic and safety inspector in Grand Forks, N.D. Ron was a lifelong member of Local U.A.

99 and a member serving many years on the H.V.A.C. board for the City of Bloomington. He continued to serve his country and brotherhood throughout his life; a member of Vietnow, Disabled American Veterans, V.F.W. and the American Legion. Ron was also on the Korean Vietnam Memorial building committee.

He often played Santa through Vietnow cheering families in need. He served many years as an Honor Guard, veteran welcome home committees, and proudly marching with his brothers through life, helping them up if they fell. When needed, Ron never said No. An honest, hardworking man, selfless always putting others first. Throughout his life he was constantly helping others, often without pay.

He could fix anything and he would. Patient, clever and steadfast, if Ron of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. -if Catholic Lit. Church, Pontiac.

The Rev. Julius Pfaff David Sabel will officiate. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery, Pontiac. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.
