Corbin was a member of Modern Woodman of the World. He worked for May Co. Department Stores in California for 26 years, retiring in 1973. He moved to Normal in 1974. Robert Gilmore The funeral of Robert H.

Gilmore, 66, of 704 S. Cottage St, Normal, a retired Caterpillar Inc. employee, will be at 10 a.m. today Four area schools set registration, tests for children Preschool screenings and kinder- garten registrations in area schools include: Chenoa A kindergarten registration phone-in for children who will be age 5 by Sept 1 will be Feb. 20.

Parents whose children will attend kindergarten in the fall should call the Chenoa Grade School that day between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. An appointment will also be made at that time for kindergarten screen-' ings March 20 to 21 at the grade, school. Smith CLINTON The funeral of Reatha C. Smith, 80, of Clinton, a retired licensed practical nurse, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Her-ington-Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton. David Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Clinton.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith died at 9:19 a.m. Saturday (Feb.

2, 1991) at St John's Hospital, Springfield. She was born May 9, 1910, in Clinton, a daughter of William D. and Jennie Pyles Baughman. She married Ray Smith Feb. 14, 1931, in Clinton.

He preceded her in death. Surviving are one son, Keith Pontiac; one daughter, Sharon Hoff, Clinton; two brothers, John, Paducah, Ky. and Bob, Mt Vernon, one sister, Dixie Torbert, Wapella; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and four sisters. Mrs.

Smith was an LPN at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Lincoln. She was a member of DeWitt County Corn Club, Rebekah Lodge, Young at Heart Club and OTH Club. Memorials may be made to DeWitt County Friendship Center or Young At Heart Club. Wendell C.

Tammen died at 3 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 1991) at Veterans Administration Hospital, Danville. He was born April 8, 1916, in Gilman, the son of Carl W. and Gladys L.

Jimison Tammen. Surviving are his mother, Loda; one sister, Beatrice Arlene Schroeder, Ashkum; and one brother, Darrell Tammen, Thaw-ville. His father and two brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Tammen attended Gilman country school and moved to Loda from the Gilman area in 1939.

He served with the U.S. Army in World War II (1942 to 1945) in the Africa and Italy campaigns. He did farm work most of his life. He had attended the Zion Evangelical Church of Gilman and was a member of Paxton VFW Post and Loda American Legion Post Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arthur Smith EUREKA Arthur L.

Smith, 94, of Eureka, a retired teacher, died at 9:50 a.m. yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, Eureka. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Maple Lawn assembly room, Eureka, the Revs.

Robert Harnish and Roger Hochstetler officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Point Cemetery, Metamora. Visitation will be one hour before the service in the assembly room. Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Eureka, had charge of arrangements. He was born Jan.

28, 1897, in rural Metamora, a son of J.D. and Anna Belsley Smith. Surviving are two sisters, Ada Miller, Goshen, and Verna Bishop, Doylestown, Pa. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Mr.

Smith was a 1923 graduate of Goshen College, received a master's degree from the University of Chicago and received advanced education courses from the University of Colorado. He taught for 40 years at Eureka High School, Central High School in South Bend, Ind. and Indiana University. He was founder of the Audubon Society in South Bend, and was active in the formation of the Junior Academy of Science in South pciiu 111 XV I X. Upon his retirement, he planted over 120 species of trees, shrubs and wildflowers at Maple Lawn Nursing Home, covering about three acres.

He was also a nature guide at a lUiai I laillf III uugiuaiki Mich, and was one of the last of the adelphian male chorus members at the Metamora Mennonite Church. Memorials may be made to the maintenance fund for the Arthur L. Smith nature trail fund at Maple Lawn Homes. Charles Hollibaugh CLINTON Charles W. Hollibaugh, 74, of Clinton, a former DeWitt County coroner, died at 7:50 a.m.

yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at St Joseph Medical Center, Bloom-ington. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Herington-Calvert Funeral Home, Clinton, the Revs. J.

Kent Hickerson and Robert Winger officiating. Burial will be in Mausoleum Park Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. He was born July 21, 1916, in Waynesville, a son of Clifford and Essie Mathews Hollibaugh.

He married Norma L. Geer May 6, 1945, in Clinton. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Jan Utterback, Clinton; one son, Bruce, Decatur; one brother, Dar-ral, Hammond, one sister, Florence Sullivan, Clinton; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister.

Mr. Hollibaugh was a retired 40-year employee of Herington-Calvert-Pullen-Boos Funeral Homes, Clinton. He served as DeWitt County coroner from 1972 to 1983. An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of First Christian Church in Clinton, American Legion, DeWitt Masonic Lodge AF AM 84, Bloomington Consistory and Clinton Elks Club. John Warner Hospital. Jeannine Shull GIBSON CITY The funeral of Jeannine Shull, 62, a lifetime Gibson City resident, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Gibson City. The Rev. Patrick Cox will officiate.

Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City. Mrs. Shull died at 4:30 p.m.

Saturday (Feb. 2, 1991) at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana. She was born Feb. 2, 1929, in Gibson City, a daughter of Edmund and Florence Scott Jordan. She married Clair Shull Sept 14, 1947, in Gibson City.

He survives. Also surviving are one son, Scott, Gibson City; two daughters, Linda Celeschi, Gibson City, and Connie Hester, Witt; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. Mrs. Shull provided child care in her home for 10 years.

She was a member of Untied Methodist Women's Society and United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to her church. Robert E. Ellis SECOR Robert E. Ellis, 55, of Secor died at 8:20 p.m.

yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at Saint James Hospital, Pontiac. Duffy Funeral Home, Odell, is in charge of arrangements. Bloomington-Normal Sophia Helen Clark Sophia Helen Clark, 85, of 2 Ryan Drive, Bloomington, died at 10 p.m. Saturday (Feb.

2, 1991) at Brokaw Hospital, Normal. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Carl H. Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at the memorial home. She was born Aug. 11, 1905, in Carlock, a daughter of William and Martha Green Noel. She married Dana O.

Clark. He died June 26, 1967. She was preceded in death by six brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Clark had worked as a waitress at the former Streid's restaurant in Bloomington for many years.

Memorials may be made to the BroMenn hospice unit John A. Corbin John A Corbin, 83, of 901 N. Main Normal, died at 12:20 a.m. yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at McLean County Nursing Home, where he had been a resident since 1984.

He had a lengthy illness. He will be cremated and burial of the ashes will be in Green Hill Cemetery in Sullivan at a later date. STREATOR Snow Lee Hicks, 72, of Streator died at 4:45 a.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 1991) at Swedish American Hospital in Rockford.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. She was born Jan.

9, 1919, in Lyons, the daughter of John and Beatrice Black Lyons. She married Willie Hicks May 9, 1937, in Marks, Miss. He survives. Also surviving are one son, Willie Hicks Streator; one daughter, Beatrice Davis, Rockford; 10 grandchildren; 22 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. Her parents preceded her in death.

Mrs. Hicks has been a Streator resident since 1943 and was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mildred L. Farmer CHESTNUT Mildred L. Farmer, 67, of Clermont, formerly of Chestnut, a homemaker, died at 2:30 a.m.

Thursday (Jan. 31, 1991) at her home. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home, Mount Pulaski, the Rev. Robert Morwell officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday. She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Chestnut, the daughter of Louis and Clara Kusterer Schafer. She married Dale Farmer Feb.

24, 1984, in Lakeland, Fla. He survives. Also surviving are seven stepchildren; and eight step-grandchildren. She was a member of Lakeland Gospel Tabernacle, Lakeland, Fla. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Katherine M. Sullivan METAMORA Katherine M. "Kathie" Sullivan, 23, of rural Audubon Hills, Metamora, was dead at 3:05 a.m. yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at the scene of a one-vehicle accident on Upper Spring Bay Road.

A story is on page A8. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lourdes, the Rev. Robert Hoffer officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mason Funeral Home, Metamora, with the rosary recited at 7:30 p.m. She was born March 10, 1967, in Quincy, a daughter of Paul J. and Deana Ebel Sullivan.

Surviving are her parents, rural Metamora; one brother, Ed, Illinois State University, Normal; one sister, Kelly Sullivan, Chicago; her maternal grandfather, Charles Ebel, Springfield; and paternal grandmother, Margaret Sullivan, Farmington Hills, Mich. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother and paternal grandfather. A 1985 graduate of Metamora Township High School, Miss Sullivan received an associate degree from Illinois Central College. She was an account representative for Ruppman Marketing in Peoria. Bethel M. Griffin ROANOKE Bethel M. Griffin, 86, of Roanoke Apostolic Christian Home, formerly of Spring Bay Road, died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday (Feb. 2, 1991) at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Spring Bay United Methodist Church, the Revs. Janet Eagleston and Phillip Merritt officiating. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, Magnolia. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.

today at Mason Funeral Home, Metamora and one hour before the service Tuesday at the church. She was born Aug. 2, 1904, in St Louis, a daughter of Homer and Delitha Collins Shinn. She married Clifton G. Griffin June 27, 1944, in Peoria.

He died Jan. 24, 1989. Surviving are five daughters, Madeline Malloy and Norma Jean Horrighs, both of Camdenton, Helen Maxey, St Ann, Marian Meinert, East Peoria; and Wanda Ricca, Metamora; five sons, Eugene Bella, Granville; George P. Griffin, Gunnison, Wesley Griffin, East Peoria; Robert Griffin, Dumfries, and Francis Griffin, San Antonio, Texas; one brother, John Rosa, Peoria Heights; one sister, Marguerita Edwards, Canton; 29 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. Mrs.

Griffin was a member of Spring Bay United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to her church or St Jude Midwest PIPER CITY Allen Dean Berry, 64, of Piper City died at 12:37 p.m. yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at Fairbury Hospital. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m.

Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Piper City, the Rev. Mary Lynch Mallory officiating. Burial will be in Brenton Cemetery, Piper City. Military rites will be accorded by Gibb Post 588 of the American Legion. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tuesday at Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home, Piper City. He was born Feb. 3, 1927, in Monticello, the son of Dean Johnston and Isabel Beckhart Berry. He married Betty J. Weikle July 12, 1953, in Maroa.

She survives. Also surviving are his mother, Monticello; two sons, Douglas and William, both of Piper City; one daughter, Susan Read, Piper City; and nine grandsons. His father and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Berry was raised in Monticello and attended Monticello schools, Blackburn College in Car-linville and Champaign Business School.

He was a member of United Methodist Church, Piper City and the church board. A Navy veteran of World War II, he was a member of Gibb Post 588 American Legion, Piper City. He was a past member of the town board, fire department, Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge and the library board, all of Piper City, and the Fairbury Hospital board. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church, Piper City, or to the Southeast Livingston County Ambulance Service. Mary Louise Snow STREATOR Mary Louise Snow, 57, of rural Streator, died at 2:35 a.m.

yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at St John's Hospital, Springfield, following a brief illness. She had a rare lung disease. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St Anthony's Church, Streator.

Burial will be in St Anthony's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator, with the rosary being recited at 7 p.m. Mrs. Snow was born April 15, 1933, in Streator, the daughter of Jay and Frances Renn Whalen.

She married Marien Snow Oct. 4, 1952, in Streator. He survives. Also surviving are two sons, James Chicago, and Gary rural Streator; two daughters, Nancy Anderson, Ottawa, and Janet Snow, Streator; one grandson; one brother, John Whalen, rural Streator; and one sister, Charlene Froman, Winnebago. Her parents preceded her in death.

Mrs. Snow lived in Streator all her life. She was employed for 25 years at the Lechner Tax Service. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, the Altar Rosary Society, the church choir and W.C.U.

of the church. James M. Mooney GIBSON CITY James M. Mooney, 85, of Gibson City died at 10:12 a.m. yesterday (Feb.

3, 1991) at Gibson Manor Nursing Home, Gibson City. His funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Lords Catholic Church, Gibson City, the Rev. William Smith officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City.

Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, with a prayer service at 10:15 a.m. He was born Aug. 5, 1905, in Proctor, a son of Martin and Ellen Gillen Mooney. Surviving are two brothers, John, Gibson City, and Avetus, Piper City; and one sister, Josephine Wilson, Newton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by one brother. A World War II Army veteran, Mr. Mooney worked at Nobel Bros. Seed Co. in Gibson City for several years.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lords Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to his church. Frances N. Erschen PONTIAC Frances N. Erschen, 84, of Pontiac died at 3:30 p.m.

Moriearty LINCOLN John C. Moriearty, 57, of Lincoln died at 3:35 p.m. yesterday (Feb. 3, 1991) at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, after a short illness. Holland Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, has charge of at Beck Memo-rial Home, Bloomington.

The Rev. William Tabb will officiate. Burial will be at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation was yesterday at the memorial home. Mr.

Gilmore Robert Gilmore died at 5:55 p.m. Friday (Feb. 1, 1991) at Brokaw Hospital, Normal. He was born Jan. 28, 1925, in San Jose, a son of Grover and Maude Cooper Gilmore.

He married Ada Stevens on Feb. 4, 1948, in Bloomington. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Dan Robert, Carlock; two daughters, Connie Lee Meyers, 706 S. Cottage St, Normal, and Janet Sue Gilmore, at home; two sisters, Be-rnice Costa, Emden, and Ruth Jones, Hopedale; and three granddaughters.

He was preceded in death by two brothers. Mr. Gilmore worked for Caterpillar for 37 years in East Peoria, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Family Worship Center, the Bloomington Moose Lodge, National Rifle Association, National Association of Bassmasters and the American Legion Post He also served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II.

Memorials can be made to the church building fund or to the American Cancer Society. Virgil Robertson The graveside service of Virgil Robertson, 74, of 122 Greenwood Bloomington, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the East Lawn Cemetery, Bloomington. The Rev. Vernon L.

Oakley will officiate. There will be no visitation. Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Robertson, a painter in the Twin Cities for more than 30 years, died at 1:10 p.m.

Saturday (Feb. 2, 1991) at Brokaw Hospital, Normal, where he had been a patient three days. He was born Feb. 6, 1916, in LeRoy, a son of Jess and Hallie Fiedler Robertson. He married Jane Lauterberg on Aug.

2, 1954, in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Connie Young, Lima, Ohio; two sisters, Marjorie Robertson, Pontiac, and Betty Robertson, LeRoy; five stepgrandchildren; and three stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a stepson and two brothers. Mr.

Robertson was member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades Local 209. He was a Marine Corps veteran of World War II and had been a Japanese prisoner of war for three years. He retired in 1981. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans. Three are injured in head-on crash CLINTON A 19-year-old Clinton man and two Champaign area women were taken to an Urbana hospital last night from the scene of a head-on collision on Illinois 10, about one mile east of Bonville.

Steven Johnson was in fair condition last night at Carle Foundation Hospital, according to a nursing supervisor. Heather Brewer, 18, of Bonville also was in fair condition at Carle. A passenger in her vehicle, 19-year-old Nicole Seeberte, of Champaign was treated at Carle and later released. State police at Pesotum said Johnson was adjusting his car radio while driving east on Illinois 10 shortly after 6 p.m. when he swerved into the path of a westbound vehicle driven by Ms.

Brewer. According to reports, rescue crews worked for more than an hour to extricate Johnson from his vehicle. Johnson was charged with improper lane use. Ms. Brewer and Ms.

Seeberte were, charged with failure to wear a seat belt.
