Pilger, Nebraska Rites Held Wednesday For Mrs. Christensen Anna Rasmussen, daughter of Inger and Ole Rasmussen, was born at Rodvig, Denmark, on December 9, 1873, and passed away at her home in Pilger August 10, 1942, at the age of 68 years, 8 months and 1 day.

She had been in ill health for many years, her illness becom-1 ing serious about six weeks ago. Anna Rasmussen was baptized and confirmed in the Danish Lutheran Church in Denmark. While a resident of Fremont she was associated with the First Lutheran church and was a member of the ladies aid society. In July, 1894, she came to the United States, making her home in Omaha. In 1898 she was united in marriage to Alfred Clausen and to this union was born one daughter, Alfreda.

Mr. Clausen passed away in October of the same year. Following his death she resided at Fremont, later moving to Stanton County. On April 18, 1900 she was united in marriage to Peter M. Christensen.

To this union was born five children. They made their home on a farm northeast of Pilger where they resided for 29 years. Retiring from the farm in 1929, they moved to Fremont. Two years later they returned to Pilger where she was residing at the time of her death. Her husband preceded her in death July 14, 1941, one daughter Fern and two sisters also preceded her in death.

She leaves to mourn five children Alfreda, Mrs. Jensen; Elise, Mrs. Daly Carson; Wil. liam, Emil and Pete all resid. ing around Pilger, seven grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs.

Bertha Larsen of Ogallalla, Nebraska and Mrs. Laura Hansen of Denmark, two brothers N. Rasmussen of Burley, Idaho, Rasmus Rasmussen of Huntsville, Utah and a host of other at relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Wednesday August 10 at the home at two o'clock, and at two, of thirty at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Pilger.

Rev. Knud Larsen of Laurel conducted the services. Palibearers were Andrew Petersen, Lars Petersen, Hans Miller, Harvey Petersen, John Jensen and Carl Christensen. Singing was conducted by Miss Neola Dohren, Mrs. Gifford Burris, Henry J.

Shultz. and Mrs. Ed Rennick, organist. We sincerely wish to express our gratitude to all who SO kindly assisted us during the illness, death and burial of our beloved mother. Your kindness will long be remembered.

Wayne Carson to Cherokee, Iowa, where they will visit at the Carson home. Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Carson have spent the past week visiting relatives here. Vernon Thies who has been employed at Julesburg, Colorado returned home Thursday to visit relatives here for a few days before he leaves for the Army.

Miss Leora Townsend of Danbury accompanied him here. Monday supper guests at the Leland Bordner home were Mr. and Mrs. Gus Woeppel of Stanton, Mrs. Jesse Murphy of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Miss Anna Daniel of Long Beach, California.

Siecke left Friday morning for College Station, Texas after spending the past two weeks here visiting relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Chace, Ada and Bud, Mrs. Alex Rabeler of Bovina, New York and Miss Dola Wolverton attended the Fremont 4-H fair held at Mrs.
