It is unnecessary for os to speak of the interesting and hoalthful locality in which these schools are located. They are too well known.

The natural advantage of the situation are nowhere surprised. The course of instruction is thorough, snd ihu teachers employed have had enough expe-ri-noe to render. them entirely competent. The managers are men of energy and enterprise, and no pnins will be spired to make it a class school. we hope to see these institutions liberally patron-Led.

immense and almost and clean it ia of this colossal enterpruuv exhibition oa the City Lot, wi last night crowded to ill utmost capacity a Just tribute to the enter prise of our substantial townsman, Mr, John Robinson. The music wu excellent, the animals in the best condition, and the performances in the arena the best we have ever seen. Each succeeding act but served to call forth fresh bursts of enthusiasm, until, at the conclusion of the entertainment, the admiration of the audience seemed to have reached its culminating point. On Monday, John Sayne, a citiean of this county, while ia a state of intoxication, had his pockets picked and something more than one hundred dollars taken. That ever vigilant and wide-awake officer, Constable J. P. He was committed to Jail, and Mr.

Chapman to B. Manuel, tract of land in Knox county for $175. To Oca Yocno Men. An effort was made not long siace to form a Toung Men's Association at this place, which, we are sorry to say, proved a failure. We should have such an association here, and its organization would certainly prove a source of good to the entire community.

An organisation for the purpose of mental improvement among our yonng men, would be encouraged by good men in the city of all sects and parties. We should have an organization, and raise means wherewith to purchase a good library, establish a reading room, and hold regular stated meetings, with a view to a proper cultivation of our mental faculties. Time could be thus spent much more profitably to ourselves than in billiard or drinking saloons, or other places of amusement and dissipation. "We have no objection to one attending places of amusement occasionally, but time could be spent much better in the way we have spoken of above. Much depends upon tho proper training of our young men, and when we see them devoting tSeir whole time to un profitable amusement or wicked dissipation, we can but entertain fears for the future welfare of the country.

"Will net some of our enterprising young men go to work and erganizo an association of this kind? Don't be Foolish." You can make Six Dol lars from Fifty Cents. Knoxville, Tijtn, Sept. 25, 1867. 4t Hoo Cuoleha. The cholera and throat dwease in hogs is prevailing to a fearful extnt ia some localities. It is indeed mnch to be regretted that the farmers and stock owners should, in these pressing times, suftur to much loss from those terrible diseases.

It is staled, by souie that have used the preparations, that Foutz's celebrated Horse and Cattlt Powders will cure it; and if occasionally used, this time of the year, will entirely prtvect tho diseases. This it a simple remedy and easy to get we believe all respectable store keep them for sale. We would advise owners of hogs to give it a trial, as great good can be accomplished by it use.
