M. Iledliiglon, collector of Decatur township. It la an Injunction case. The gas company made schedule of the property of the company and the amount was ruilsed by the assessor. The company brought the Injunction suit against the collector to prevent his taking any steps toward the collection of the taxei alleged to be due.

This morning E. Redmon, who appeared for the collector, demurred to the bill on the ground that the gas company should have made complaint lo the supervisor of or to the board of review, but did not lukc advantage of the opportunity. The court ruled that he would hear the evidence and the demuirer was overruled and the defendant In answer by Aug. 1. The case will likely be a hard fought one and In all probability It will be taken to the supreme court before It lln- ished.
