at at OF INTEREST HIGHLIGHT CHRISTMAS SEASON Westminster Presbyterian Church was the scene of the marriage of Mr. and Mrs. Adrian Anton de Gast. The bride, the former Dorothy Jean Dorrance, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.

Thomas S. Dorrance, 168 Upton Road, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. T. de Gast, 370 S.

Hamilton Of interest to many in the Sault is the recent marriage of Catherine Anne Birbeck, RN. and William Maurice Thomas Hamilton, in the Church of the Epiphany, Sudbury.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick J. Birbeck, 215 Simcoe Street, Sudbury, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Maurice Hamilton, 8 Findlay Avenue, Sault. A school friend of the groom, Rev. L. Robertson, B.A., performed the nuptial ceremony at four o'clock in the afternoon. Thomas Clegg, church organist, played the music, with Roy Snitch Coniston, as soloist.

During the signing of the register, he sang "The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden," arranged to a special musical setting by Mr. Clegg. The church was decorated in pink and white, with masses of carnations and baby's breath used at the altar and chancel. The guest pews were marked with miniature nosegays of white pom poms caught with white satin bows. Given in marriage father, the bride was lovely her, a gown of frosty white French lace which fell in graceful folds to a brief back sweep.

Long sleeves ended in petal points at the wrist. A lace redingote was worn over a strapless white taffeta frock with bouffant skirt over a crinoline. The underfrock was cleverly styled with raised scolls. and the was caught at the waist away on the redingote, skirt in deep scallops. She wore a scoop-bonnet style lace headdress and fingertip veil of tulle d'illusion and carried a sheath style cascade bouquet of sweetheart roses in delicate shades of pink.

The bride was attended by her cousin, Betty Dune McMullen and Mrs. Peter Blue as bridesmaids. They were similarly gowned calla white velvet waltz length frocks with fitted bodices and bouffant skirts. The portrait necklines featured delicate pleating and the sleeves were bracelet-length. They wore matchini velvet hats and carried barrelshaped velvet muffs clustered with American Beauty roses.

William Johnson of Sault was best man, and the ushers were Peter Blue, Leonard Bolger and Gordon Harten, of the Sault. A reception was held at the Sudbury Granite Club on Riverside Drive, with Mrs. William Duncan as hostess, and Mrs. D. M.

Duncan in charge of servers. Mrs. Birbeck looked smart for her daughter's wedding, wearing a gown of moonstone blue lace over taffeta, styled on classic lines, with matching accessories. She wore a matching velvet hat and a shoulder spray of pink roses and lily-of-the-valley. Mrs.

Hamilton, the groom's mother, was charming in an ankle-length gown of iris blue taffeta with brief jacket. The bodice was scattered with iridescent sequins, beads and pearls. She wore cocoa-brown accessories and a shoulder spray of deep pink roses and lily-of-the-valley. Following a honeymoon trip to Toronto and Buffalo the couple took up residence 365 Gillies Street, Sault, For travelling, the bride chose a three-piece ensemble, a suit of kitten's ear broadcloth with an Empire line jacket and pencil line skirt. She wore a topcoat of cashmere in a mink shade to match her suit, with collar of sheared beaver.

Dark brown accessories completed her ensemble with a corsage of Talisman roses. Those from the Sault attending the wedding were: J. Hess, Mrs. J. Burchfield, Shirley MacBeth, Gordon Harten, W.

Johnson. Among those entertaining in honor of the bride prior to her marriage were Mrs. C. R. Ross and Mrs.

Mrs. Nestor Provencher presided at the organ, and accompanied the St. Joseph's School choir, and the soloist, Mr. Frank Leblanc who sang "Ave Marie," and "Panis Entering the church on the arm of her father, the blonde bride was radiantly lovely as they proceeded to the altar to the accompaniment of Mendelssohn's Bridal March.

The bride's gown was of traditional white, Chantilly lace and nylon tulle over taffeta, and was ballerina length, styled with a molded lace bodice and a bouffant skirt over which was a tunic of Valencia lace. Small satin buttons closed the Peter Pan neckline, and the long sleeves tapered to points over the hands. She wore a matching half hat and carried a cascade bouquet of American Beauty roses tied with satin streamers. Her only Jewellery was a locket, a gift from her mother. She wore a matching headdress and gloves and carried a Colonial bouquet. Mrs. Rolande Leboeuf wearing pastel blue, and Miss Annette Leboeuf wearing pastel were attractive green, wore similarly styled gowns, with molded bodices and bouffant skirts, of accordian pleated nylon taffeta complemented by brief matching boleros, and elbow length mittens and matching headdresses. They each carried a matching Colonial bouquet. The tiny flower girl, Rose Marie Leboeuf wore a pink nylon ruffled floor-length frock with a matching headdress and mittens, and carried a nosegay bouquet.

Mr. Wilfred Gauthier acted as best man, while the ushers were Mr. James Picard, Mr. Rolande Leboeuf and Arthur Laroche. M. Connolly, Emil Brunet Takes Bride In St. Veronica's St. Veronica's Church was the setting for the marriage of Arlene Mary Marguarite McMillan and Emile Edward Brunet Monday. The bride is the daughter of Mr.

Traditional wedding music was performed by Mrs. Doris Naccarato at the organ, and Miss Vera Ubaldi was soloist for the memorable occasion. She selected to sing "On This Day" and "Ave Maria" among others. Entering the church on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage, the bride was lovely in a gown of fine rayon lace and nylon and rayon marquisette. Glowing rayon satin shimmered richly through a slim lace bodice with quaint covered buttons and a prettily scalloped collar.

The collar was daintily trimmed with medalleons with glowing stimulated pearl centres. The bouffant skirt of fine marquisette over satin was featured with a center lace panel and flowed with a graceful sweep. A half crown of Chantilly lace. over rayon satin, trimmed with lover's knots and simulated pearls, held securely her veil of rayon embroidered net. She carried a bouquet of red roses.

Miss Joanne McMillan attended her sister as maid of honor. She was charming in a strapless gown of net over taffeta. The net jacket, bodice and back of the gown was in coronation blue, flanked with panels of light blue on each side. She wore a blue feathered headpiece and carried a nosegay of white mums and red roses. Miss Betty Giddings as bridesmaid wore a gown of pink moire taffeta with overskirts of net.

She wore a pink feathered headdress and carried a nosegay of white mums and red roses. Mr. Felix Brunet, brother of the groom, was best man and Mr. Richard Tauvette was usher. Following the ceremony a wedding luncheon was held at the of the bride, and the home reception was held at Steelton Hall, John Street.

For receiving with the bridal party the bride's mother, Mrs. McMillan wore a charcoal grey dress with black and white candy strip collar and cuffs. To complete her outfit she wore mustard colored hat and gloves and a corsage of roses. The groom's mother, Mrs. Brunet.

Allard of North Bay were out-of-town guests attending the wedding. Prior to her marriage the bride was entertained at a miscellaneous shower by her aunt, Mrs. William Clark, and at a personal shower by her mother and her bridal attendants at the home of her mother.
