i The News Tribune Tacoma Mon June 30 1980 A-5 County buses take to new routes tomorrow hour during rush hours and once hourly the remainder of the time To Fort Lewis the service will be hourly during weekday rush hours and every two hours the remainder of the time Saturday and Sunday service will be on a reduced scale Adult fares for all but the Federal Way service will be 25 cents Adult fares to Federal Way will be 75 cents Adult fares on King County's Metro system would be 50 cents to Boring Field and 75 cents to downtown Seattle More specific information about Pierce Transit schedules may be obtained by calling 593-4520 Metro schedules and information are available at 447-4800 and pickup passengers at the Sea-Tac Mall shopping area and at the park-and-ride lot at South 320th Street and Interstate 5 There passengers may make coo- nectlons with Metro Transit's system for rides to Seattle and elsewhere in King County The first bus for Federal Way will leave the Pierce County Annex parking lot tomorrow at 5:15 am That bus will serve Boeing employees and others wanting to make connections to Renton The remainder of the Federal Way-bound buses will leave from the downtown Tacoma transit terminal The first will leave there at 5:54 am Other early morning tripe will leave downtown at 6:30 7 7:30 8 and 8:55 The last weekday trip will leave Tacoma at 10 pm The first trip from the Federal Way park-and-ride lot will leave shortly before 6 am and the last will leave there at 10:45 pm The first weekday trip to Puyallup and Sumner from Tacoma will be at 5:25 am From Puyallup the first trip to Tacoma will be at 5:55 am To Fort Lewis McChord and Tillicum the first bus leaves downtown at 5 am Fran FOrt Lewis the first trip will leave at 6 am On weekdays on the Federal Way and Drivers beware: ash still a hazard All interstate and major state highways will be open for the Fourth of July weekend but ash from the Mount St Helens eruptions remains a hazard along some routes according to the state Department of Transportation Ash removal is still under way mainly In Central and Eastern Washington from Yakima and Ellensburg to Spokane and Pullman the DOT said with heavy ash concentrations from Vantage to Ritsville Some ash removal also is in progress in Western Washington in the Vancouver Kelso Longview Centralis Chehalis South Bend and Raymond areas DOT officials advised motorists to drive slowly and with extra caution in areas where they encounter ash and to carry extra vehicle air filters on long trips through affected areas Motorists also should check windshield wipers and fluid and cany dust masks for persons with respiratory problems when traveling through these areas the officials advised Some detours or brief delays can be expected because of of the mountain Area briefing Man escapes robbers A South End resident escaped through the back door of his home early today as two men broke through the front door in an apparent robbery attempt Police said the man told them that one of the men who confronted him was armed with a knife and he suspected they intended to rob him Two rob doughnut shop Two men armed with weapons robbed Donut Shop 15013 Pacific Ave early yesterday morning and escaped with some $800 sheriffs deputies reported One suspect jumped over the counter and prevented an employee from escaping to a back room while the
