BARBERSHOP Q. How did dentistry become associated with the barber profession? A. In 1544 Henry VIII granted a charter to the Barber-Surgeons Company of England and both men and women were admitted. In France in the early 1800 'a a barber could treat teeth and perform surgical procedures. Until the early 1800'g in America anyone could practice dentistry, and the majority of practitioners were barbers.

Of course modern dentistry has advanced a long way from those days, but for a haircut you'll need an appointment with your barber. i 1 01n Mills photo Merrick-Reh June 4 is the wedding date chosen by Lori Anne Merrick and Kenneth Leroy Reh, both of 5 Greenwood Bloomington.
