Miles Irene E. Miles, 75, of 101 E. MacArthur Bloomington, died at 7:45 a.m. Friday at Heritage Manor Nursing Home.

Her funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Lahey Funeral Home, Madison. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m.

Sunday at the funeral home. Main Professionals 1 I LaVerne Sauers STREATOR The funeral of LaVerne "Lefty" Sauers, 56, of 1306 E. Broadway who died Thursday, will be at 10 this morning at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator. Burial will be in St. Anthony's Cemetery.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1492, Streator. He also was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. Hancock MACKINAW Freda L. Hancock, 69, of rural Mackinaw died at 4:10 a.m. today at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria, where she had been a patient since March 16. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Hansel Funeral Home, Mackinaw, the Rev.

B.G. Drake, officiating. Burial will be in Mackinaw Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m.

Sunday. She was born Aug. 7, 1912 at Beardstown, a daughter of Pete and Edith Lucas Mundon. She married Everett M. Hancock, Dec.

24, 1931 in Pekin. He died Feb. 10, 1978. Survivors include five sons, Everett Jr, Hopedale; Charles Ina; Donald Morton; William Mackinaw and John Mackinaw; one daughter, Shirley Cooper, Morton; 15 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. One son preceded her in death.

She worked for the Beich Candy Bloomington and Brickie Baw Orchards, Danvers. Rosaline W. Hupp STREATOR The funeral of Rosaline W. Hupp, 76, 117 Seventh Streator, who died Tuesday, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Elias Funeral Home, Streator.

There will be no visitation. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Streator. She was bom Dec. 26, 1905, in Streator, a daughter of Fleming David and Nellie Geiger Hupp. Surviving are a brother, Frederick, in Arizona, and a nephew, Frederick Duis, in Arizona.

She operated dance studios in Streator, Ottawa and LaSalle for 43 years until she retired in 1960. She was a faculty and lifetime member of the Chicago Association of Dancing Masters. She was also a member of the Park Presbyterian Church, Streator. Memorials may be made to the Park Church Fund or St. Mary's Hospital, Streator.

Cecile Hagerty STREATOR Cecile Hagerty, 85, of R.R. 3, Streator, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at her home following a short illness. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Enunciation B.V.M.

1, Oakland Acres, Morton, died at 8:15 a.m. Friday at his home after an illness of five months. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Advent Lutheran Church, Morton, with the Rev. Daniel B.

Tuhy officiating. Burial will be Wednesday in Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele, N.D. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Perry Memorial Home, Morton, with a private prayer service 9 o'clock. Mr.

Suckerman was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Dickinson, N.D., a son of Ansat and Jennie Robinson Suckerman. He married Mary Ellen Kalianoff on June 4, 1960, in Steele. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Dickinson; a son, Vernon William, at home; a daughter, Debra Ellen Suckerman, Peoria; a brother, John, Minneapolis, and a sister, Helen Neils, Novato, Calif.

His father preceded him in death. Mr, Suckerman was a pharmacist and had worked the past five years at Morton Village Pharmacy. Before that, he had worked at the Super Drug Store in Morton. He was a member of Advent Lutheran Church, Morton, and was active on the church council. He was past president of the Central Illinois Pharmacy Association and the Southwestern Pharmacy Association in North Dakota and was a member of El Zagell Masonic Lodge, Fargo, N.D.; the Shrine in Fargo, and the Consistory in Bismarck, N.D.

He was past president of the Dickinson Jaycees and was a 1961 graduate of North Dakota State University at Fargo. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society for cancer research. Henry Smith RANSOM Henry P. Smith, 82, of 4. James Place, Bloomington, a resident of rural Ransom most of years.

His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Stamper Memorial Home, Bloomington, the Rev. Slayton W. Jackson officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m.

and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the memorial home. Nellie Brandt ATLANTA Nellie Brandt, 88, Atlanta, died at 4:05 p.m. Friday at Bartmann Nursing Home, rural Atlanta, where she had resided since June 1970. Quiriam Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Shepherd Memorial Home, Bloomington, was in charge of local arrangements. Mrs. Miles was born March 5, 1907, in Lebanon, a daughter of Harrison and Ida Belle Kinder Eskew. She married Earl Miles in June 1925, in Venice. He died Dec.

6, 1973. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. April 9 hearing set in deputies' pay suit U.S.

District Judge J. Waldo Ackerman has set a hearing April 9 in Springfield to consider compensation for 44 McLean County sheriff's deputies suing the county. The deputies are seeking compensation for more than 31,700 hours they worked overtime during the administrations of Sheriff Steve Brienen and former Sheriff John King. Ackerman ruled in the deputies' favor Dec. 1, but delayed the compensation hearing while attorneys for both sides tried to negotiate a settlement.

Those negotiations broke down Tuesday. Audubon Society sets Evergreen walk The Bloomington John Wesley Powell Audubon Society will sponsor a public walk at Evergreen Lake today. The society will leave at 7:30 a.m. from Illinois State University's Horton Fieldhouse parking lot, at the corner of Main Street and College Avenue. Persons wishing to go directly to the lake are asked to meet at the lake's south road barricade.

Burial will be in Eagle Lostlands Cemetery, rural Streator. Solon Funeral Home, Streator, is in charge of arrangements. She was born Aug. 8, 1896, in Streator, a daughter of James and Catherine Jones Sheehan. She married James J.

Hagerty, Dec. 28, 1921 in Streator. He died in December 1970. Survivors include one son, James, rural Streator; two daughter, Mary Lou Savage, rural Streator, and Patricia Walsh, Minneapolis, seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters.

She was a member of Enunciation B.V.M. Church, Streator. Memorials may be made to the doner's choice. Gridley begins movie series GRIDLEY Focus on the Family, the first in a series of films by Dr. James C.

Dobson, will be presented at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Grid-ley Community Building. Other films in the series are Shaping the Will Without Breaking the Spirit, April Christian Fathering. April 18; Preparing for Adolescence, April 25; and What Wives Wish Their Husbands Knew About Women, May 2. Babysitting services will be available during the series at the First United Church of Gridley.

17, 1910, at Carlock, a son of John and Minnie Deerwester Shepherd. He married Irma Schultz in September 1931 in Eureka. She survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Lila Rynell, 102 Grandview Drive, Normal; six brothers, Floyd, Boyn-ton Beach, Fla; Pete, 809 E. Emerson Bloomington; Stanley, 1205 E.

Oakland Bloomington; Clarence, R.R. 2, Bloomington; Glenn, 1415 Eastholme Drive, Bloomington; and Lowell, R.R. 3, Bloomington; two sisters, Lena Peek, Tremont, and Mable Augstin, Bloomington; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, a brother and a grandson. He was a member of the Second Christian Church, Bloomington, and the Casting Club of Bloomington.

Bert Brian DELAND Bert Brian, 81, of Deland died at 6:40 p.m. Friday at Piatt County Nursing Home, Mon-ticello, where he had been a resident two years. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Walnut Grove Cemetery, rural Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Sunday at Trigg Funeral Home, Deland. He was born July 30, 1900, at Sumner, a son of Nathan and Millie Sanders Brian. He married Minnie Mae Ledeker on April 1, 1922, at Olney. She died March 14. Surviving are two sons, Loren, Monticello, and Ray, Champaign; six daughters, Wanda Fowler and Erma Jean Brian, both of Decatur; Vera Wittig, Monticello; Anita Jones, Wharton, N.J.; Roberta Miller, Clinton; and Lois Brian, De-land; a sister, Ruth Franklin, Nebo; 17 grandchildren; and seven greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a sister, two brothers, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was a member of the Church Roy J. Dunham VARNA The funeral of Roy J. Dunham, 69, Varna, who died Wednesday, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist Church of Varna, the Rev.

O.J. Hensley officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Aimone Funeral Home, Toluca. Mr. Dunham married Alma Os-terman Dec.

He had been hospitalized since March 6. He was taken to the Hagi Funeral Home in Streator where his funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday. The Rev. Bert Lancaster and the Rev.

Robert Calderwood will officiate. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery at Ransom. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. He was born Aug.

10, 1899, in Allen Township, LaSalle County, a son of George H. and Mary Geheber Smith. He married Lilah Weber Aug. 25, 1924, in Ransom. Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Phyllis Short, 201 W.

Lincoln Normal; a brother, Walter Smith, 'Streator; a sister, Viola Held, Streator; 4 granddaughters; and 2 great-grandchildren. His parents, a daughter and a brother preceded him in death. Mr. Smith farmed in the Ransom area until his retirement in 1964. He moved to Bloomington in 1977.

He was a member of Blooming-ton's Wesley United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Ransom Lions Club and Odd Fellows Lodge. He also was a former director and secretary of the Farmers Elevator at Ransom and was a director of Allen-Otter Creek Insurance Company. Memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church in Bloomington or to a charity of the donor's choice. She was born Nov. 4, 1903, at Flanagan, a daughter of Fred and Stina Weichman Park. She married Irvin King Dec. 16, 1936, at Flanagan. He died Dec.

21, 1953. Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Pritchard, Pontiac; a brother, Adolf Park, Streator; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister. She was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church to which memorials may be made.

STATENATIONWORLD Armbruster, 96, of 223 W. Seminole Dwight, died at 8:14 a.m. Friday at Grundy County Nursing Home, Morris. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St.

Patrick's Catholic Church, the Rev. William Isermann officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the church.

A rosary will be recited at 5 p.m. Von Qualen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born June 1, 1885, at Emden, a daughter of John and Fredricka Wieland Siuts. She married Josephy Armbruster on June 9, 1908, in Lincoln. He died Aug.

5, 1975. Surviving are a son, Leonard, Fresno, a daughter, Florence Barr, Mazon; two grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Five sisters and a brother preceded her in death. John A. Kmetz STREATOR John A.

Kmetz, 60, 803 Jackson died at his home at 8:15 a.m. Friday, apparently of a heart attack. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Stephen's Church.

Burial will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Winterrowd Funeral Home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.

He was born March 11, 1922, in Streator, a son of Andrew and Mary Sproch Kmetz. He married Martha Kuziak on March 10, 1945, in Streator. She survives. Also surviving are a sister, Helen Kmetz, Streator; and a brother, Steve, Streator. He was preceded in death by an infant brother.

Mr. Kmetz was employed at Thatcher Glass Streator, for 39 years before retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Stephen's Church. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

She died March 14, 1982. Surviving are a son, Donald, with whom he made his home; a daughter, Bernice Sills, Mackinaw; a sister, Anna Gearien, Pekin; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; four step grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death. He was a retired fanner and Caterpillar Tractor Co. and- was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club.

He was a member of Mackinaw United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the Mackinaw Rescue Squad.
