61753 A Hickory, man pleaded innocent Tuesday in McLean County Circuit Court to charges that he abducted his two children from his former wife. Charles Harrison, 34, is accused of taking the children, Belinda, 10, and Carri Lynn, 7, to Mississippi in early November. Shortly thereafter, Phoebe Court, Normal. They are charged with delivery of a controlled substance to a Multi-County Drug Enforcement Group agent Aug. 5 in the 900 block of West Olive Street.

Cyrus J. Russell, 21, Peoria, and Eugene R. Wilson 23, Peoria, who face charges of theft over $150. They are accused of putting items, not detailed in reports, into a bag before leaving J.C. Penney Co.

Eastland Shopping Center, on Dec. 26. who faces burglary charges in the break-in Feb. 4 of an apartment at 1710 Springfield Road. Rick Bradshaw, 20, Stanford, who is charged with two counts of aggravated battery.

He is accused of hitting Daniel Babbs, 508 S. Evans with a billiard cue Jan. 29 at Lay-Z-J Saloon, 1401 W. Market St. Bruce E.

Market Harrison's former wife, returned from Mississippi with the two children, which she had located with the aid of her attorney. Harrison was indicted under the state's new abduction law, which prohibits parents from abducting their children. Also pleading innocent to charges Tuesday before' Circuit Judge Luther Dearborn were: Joseph L.

Petry, 21, of 2604 E. Lincoln who is accused of rape, aggravated kidnapping and deviate sexual assault. The charges stem from incidents Jan. 8 and Dec. 22, in which 22-year-old and 21-year-old Bloomington women were forced to drive to East Lawn Cemetery, where they were raped.

Timothy W. Brown, 18, El Paso, who is charged with burglary in the theft of a converter from a car parked at 1510 Northbrook Drive, Normal, on Feb. 2. Ricky Williams, 17, El Paso, who also is charged in the break-in of the car on Northbrook Drive. David Caldwell, 20, Aurora, who is charged with illegal possesion of cars owned by Henry Patty and Janet Ter-razas.

Gospel singer sets concert at church Phil Enloe, a gospel singer from East Alton who at one time sang with a backup group to Elvis Presley, will sing Sunday at First Assembly of God Church, 800 E. David Wood, 302 W. Oakland told Bloomington police a $269 CB radio, $6.95 slide mount and $40 revolving light were taken between 3 and 6:30 a.m. Tuesday from his pickup truck. Reports said the vehicle was locked at the time and a wing vent was forced open. According to reports, a $20 CB antenna and $80 power supply to a cassette tape player were stolen between 9:45 p.m.

Monday and 7:15 a.m. Tuesday from a car owned by John Salch, 1014 S. Summit St. Reports said the glove compartment also was ransacked. Salch told police gasoline might also have been siphoned from a van parked beside the car because gasoline was found on the pavement.

Washington Downtown Bloomington served, for battery. The original charge of aggravated battery was amended earlier to battery. Kessinger was charged with hitting Betty Jackson about the head with his boot Sept. 21 in Bloomington. Randall Madison Adams, 20, of 125 Royal Acres Mobile Home Court, 605 Pine Normal, was fined $200 and sentenced to a year's court supervision for resisting arrest.

A companion charge of battery was dismissed in plea bargaining. Adams was charged with resisting Bloomington Patrolman Paul D. Wilson Sept. 23 when he was being placed in a squad car. Adams also was accused of kicking the policeman.

-Timothy S. Thomas, 18, of 1401 W. Locust St. was fined $100 and sentenced to a year's court supervision for unlawful use of weapons. A companion charge of illegal possession of alcohol was dismissed in plea bargaining.

Thomas was charged with possessing a switchblade knife in the 200 block of West Graham Street Jan. 7. William P. McGuinn, 23, of 1103 E. Oakland Ave.

was fined $50 and sentenced to a year's court supervision for retail theft. McGuinn was charged with the theft Oct. 4 of four packages of cigarettes from Kroger food store, 1110 E. Oakland Ave. Greg Stephen Crockett, 27, of R.R.

2 was fined $15 and sentenced to six months' court supervision for theft under $150. Crockett was charged with failure to pay for a meal Sept. 8 at the Union 76 Truck Stop, R.R. 12. Charles Dawson, 36, of 716 Arcadia Drive was bound over for arraignment March 27 in the general division of Circuit Court following a preliminary hearing in the associate division on a charge of burglary.

Dawson is accused of entering an apartment occupied by Jennifer Lewis, 710 Fairmont Drive, Feb. 15. A second charge of burglary was dismissed. The state's attorney's office asked for the dismissal because of insufficient evidence. Dawson also was accused of the break-in Feb.

15 of an apartment occupied by Patricia Bolliger, 708 Fairmont Drive. Terry L. Smith, 28, of 107 Washington Greenwood Mobile Home Court, was fined $400 Tuesday in the associate division of Circuit Court for aggravated assault. Smith was charged with threatening Daniel W. Hopkins with a knife July 4 in the 600 block of West Bissel Street.

In other action reported from court records Tuesday: Jearl T. Kessinger, 44, of 214 Packard St. was sentenced to 60 days in the McLean County Jail, with credit for time Tremont educator dies at 50 TREMONT William H. Poorbaugh, 50, of 409 N. Sampson the superintendent of Tremont School District, died at 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday at Pekin Memorial Hospital, Pekin. He had been ill eight months. His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Davis Mortuary, the Revs. Alfred Behrer and Kenneth Morgan officiating.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. He was born Dec. 31, 1928, at Farrar, Iowa, a son of Ralph and Edith Nelson Poorbaugh.

He married Sherrilyn Garrett June 3, 1951, at Lexington. She survives. Also surviving are his mother, El Paso; two sons, Kip and Vince, both of Tremont; three daughters, Kathleen Brown, Pekin; Lynn Fender, Morton, and Colleen, at home; a sister, Lois Wood, McLean, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father. Mr.

Poorbaugh was a coach and biology teacher at Flanagan, Momence and Edington schools. He was superintendent of Wyanet schools before coming to Tremont in 1966, where he was superintendent of Tremont Community Unit No. 702. He was a member of El Paso Baptist Church, the Illinois and American Association of School Administrators and Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity at Eureka College, Eureka. Memorials may be made to the family, which will institute a memorial at the Tremont schools.
