6-Atgana (Id.) Upper Dei Mofnej tuetday, January 3, 1956 Hutchins-Meyers Kalherine L. Huichins and Donald E. Meyers were married Dec. 27 at St. Cecelia's church here. They are pictured above. The wedding story ran in last week's Upper Des Moines. The bride is a daughter of Mr and Mrs Carl Hutchins of Algeria, and the bridegroom is a son of Mr and Mrs Eugene Meyers. Katherine is employed at the office of Shumway, Kelly and Fristedt. The bridegroom was to report back to army duty in Texas, Jan. 3. Frances Gingrich was the top lady kegler with a 176 count. Myrnd Diekman Tops Gal Bowlers Myrna "Diekman .was the top gal at Barry's this week, her 202 count barely keeping her in front of Lois Furst, who posted a 200. Rodman Nips Rolfe Twice Rodman picked up a pair of cage victories at Rolfe Dec. 30. The girls raced to a cozy, 65-64 verdict in the opener over Farnhamville, while the boys downed Rolfe.:41-39, in the finale. ' Betty Doty and company held five point leads at the half and at the three-quarter mark, and Betty pumped in her nineteenth field goal to win the game. She totaled 42 points for the night. Rodman's record went to 9-3. Rodman led all the way in the boys contest through the first three periods, and won as Daryl Carpenter got hot. He canned 23 points for the winners, who now have a 7-6 mark. Give Hours Here, Revenue Office Robert J. Welter of the local Internal Revenue office, has advised that the Algona office will be open on the following days. Every Monday from January 9 through April 16, and on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from January 23, through February 15, and from April 2 through April 16. Office will not be open on Saturday. Residents of Algona and vicinity may telephone 652 for tax information and thus save a trip to the Internal Revenue office. It is requested that telephone inquiries be limited to the aay.s specified above. Assessors Start Work In County Kossuth county assessors are starting work this week. A meeting of township field- men was held in the courthouse Jan. 4, and a meeting for town assessors will be held Friday, Jan. 6, at the courthouse, County Assessor Leo Immerfall said. One new aspect of state taxing law is that all veterans must apply each year for military exemptions, and such applications must be made at the assessor's office.
