Helen Bohr PAXTON (PNS) Helen Bohr, 83, of 11 Loreen Drive died at 3 a.m. Wednesday at Gibson Manor, Gibson City. Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Fern Chapel, Chicago, with burial in Cedar Park Cemetery, Chicago. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 tonight at Ford Funeral Home, Paxton.

She was born July 21, 1897, in Chicago, a daughter of Paul L. and Katherine Temple Gaertig. She married William H. Moore in 1919. He died.

She married Arthur Bohr in 1955. He also preceded her in death. Surviving are a daughter, Bette Johnson, Hayward, a sister, Ann McCarthy, Orland Park; a brother, Anthony Gaertig, Baldwin, two grandsons; and two great-grandchildren. She was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star and was a past matron. She also was a grand lecturer emeritus of the Illinois OES and was a member of Lakeview Country Club, Loda, and Paxton Senior Citizens.

Anna K. Helman SAN JOSE (PNS) Anna K. Helman, 81, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital Medical Center, Peoria.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at San Jose United Methodist Church, the Rev. Lester Wence officiating. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, near San Jose. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Limback Funeral Home and three hours before the funeral at the church.

She was born June 18, 1899, at San Jose, a daughter of Henry and Matilda Joesting Helman. Surviving is a brother, Clarence, with whom she made her home. Two sisters and a brother preceded her in death. She was a member of San Jose United Methodist Church, to which memorials may be made. Dick E.

Duits GILMAN Dick E. Duits, 74, R.R. 2, Ashkum, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka. His funeral will be at 2 p.m.

Saturday at Reilly Funeral Home, the Rev. Joseph Bleakley officiating. Burial will be in Danforth Lutheran Cemetery, Danforth. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday at the funeral home and before the funeral Saturday at the funeral home. He was born Dec. 4, 1906, in Ashkum Township, a son of Henry and Trace Dirks Duits. He married Mildred W. Mapes Dec.

30, 1931, at Gilman. She survives. Also surviving are a son, Kenneth, rural Danforth; five brothers, Cohn Duits, Clifton; Hie Duits, San Jose, Wilbur Duits, Ashkum; Lloyd Ziehr, Paxton, and James Ziehr, Watseka; two sisters, Geraldine Peters, Ashkum, and Hazel Kenney, Rantoul; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Gilman.

He retired from farming in 1970. Katherine Muller COLFAX Katherine Muller, 78, R.R. 2, died at 1:15 a.m. Thursday at Brokaw Hospital. She was taken to Metzler Memorial Home.

BLOOMINGTON NORMAL Alan D. Morgan Alan D. Morgan, 35, rural Fairmount, formerly of 800 N. Linden Normal, died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at his home.

A spokesman for the Vermilion County coroner's office said the death, apparently from self-inflicted injuries, is under investigation. An inquest will be scheduled for a later date. Mr. Morgan was a roofer. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m.

Friday at Stubblefield Funeral Home, the Rev. H. Corson O'Brian officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

today at the funeral home. Mr. Morgan was born Aug. 15, 1945, in Normal, a son of Kenneth and Mary Sylvester Morgan Sr. He married Angel Thompson in 1979.

She survives. Other survivors include his mother, 800 N. Linden Normal; two sons, Randy and Rodney, both of Heyworth; a daughter, Rhonda, Heyworth; a stepdaughter, Christel, at home; two brothers, Kenneth, 803 Karin Drive, and Jerry, 502 N. Walnut Normal; and two sisters, Carol Kitchens, 403 N. Oak Normal; and Janet Casey, 706 N.

"Butch" Schmitt, 65, R.R. 2, died at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fondulac Nursing Manor, East Peoria. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Lourdes, the Rev. Melvin Holtel officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Metamora, where military rites will I be accorded. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday at Mason Funeral Home, Metamora, with a scripture service at 8 p.m. He was born Nov. 3, 1915, in Worth Township, a son of Hubert and Emma Rohman Schmitt. He married Pearl Dixon Sept. 23, 1975, in Peoria.

She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Jay and Gary, both of Metamora; a daughter, Dawn Schmitt, Peoria; two stepdaughters, Delores Koehler, Peoria Heights, and Doris Svab, Canton; five brothers, Joseph, Peoria; and Lawrence, Wilfred, LeRoy and Earl, all of East Peoria; three sisters, Laura and Evelyn Sheets, both of Germantown Hills; and Marian Sullivan, Peoria; and 14 grandchildren. Two brothers, a sister and a grandchild preceded him i in death. Mr. Schmitt was a member of St.

Mary's Catholic Church, Lourdes, and a World War II veteran. He was an employee 36 years of Wabco Construction and Mining Group, Peoria, in the heat treating department. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Ada B. Leipold STANFORD (PNS) The funeral of Ada B.

Leipold, 65, of 1608 S. Center Bloomington, and formerly of Stanford, who died Monday in Florida, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McReynolds Funeral Chapel, Stanford. The Rev. William T.

McConnell will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Stanford. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the chapel. She was born Jan.

6, 1916, in Mount Hope Township, a daughter of Seymour and Idella Benedict Wilson. She married Sylvester A. Leipold March 23, 1940, in Lincoln. He died May 30, 1970. Surviving are a son, John, Bartonville; a daughter, Deborah J.

Kusey, Morton; four sisters, Mickey Tathm, Plant City, Lillian Ellsworth, Bloomington; and Carrie Sengotta and Ethel Wilson, both of Lincoln; and two grandchildren. A brother preceded her in death. She was a member of Stanford Christian Church, Bloomington YWCA, Happy Travelers Tour Group and Bloomington Senior Citizens. She retired from General Electric, Bloomington, in 1980, after 25 years. Marguerite E.

Stack EL PASO (PNS) Marguerite E. Stack, 80, R.R. 1, died at 2:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Hospital Medical Center, Peoria, where she was a patient two weeks.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. John O'Connor officiating. Burial will be in St.

Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Froelich Memorial Home, with a wake service at 8 p.m. She was born Nov. 19, 1900, in Gridley, a daughter of Martin and Catherine Cleary Stack.

Surviving are two brothers, Edwin, R.R. 1, El Paso, and Raymond, Peoria; two sisters, Marie Pankey, Kent, and Kathryn Kimpler, Peoria; and nieces and nephews, ineluding a niece Sandra Kimpler Stozak, Wheaton, and a nephew, Terrence Kimpler, Morton, both of whom she raised in her home. Four brothers preceded her in death. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, El Paso, and its Altar and Rosary Society.

Mae Keeley FAIRBURY (PNS) Mae Keeley, of Chicago, formerly of Fairbury, died at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Mercy Hospital, Chicago. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Beverly Hills.

Burial will be at 3 p.m. Friday in St. Rose Cemetery, Strawn. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 tonight at Donnell's Funeral Home, Western and 105th streets, Chicago. Miss Keeley was born on a farm southeast of Fairbury, a daughter of James and Rose McCormick Keeley.

Surviving are two brothers, Dr. Robert E. Keeley, Chicago, and James Fairbury, Four brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Miss Keeley, a registered nurse, had worked for 40 years at St. Bernard's Hospital, Chicago, and as a private duty nurse.

Stanley Murdoch officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a Masonic service at 8 p.m. He was born March 6, 1892, at Swygert, a son of Walter and Josephine Edginton Power.

He married Lucille Babington. She preceded him in death. He later married Maude Blanton April 10, 1927, at Yorkville. She survives. Also surviving are a sister, Nettie Lewandowski, Pontiac, and two brothers, Samuel, Pontiac, and Ebenezer, Houston, Texas.

Three sisters and two brothers preceded him in death. He was a former justice of the peace in the Pontiac area. He was a member of Pontiac American Legion and Pontiac Masonic Lodge, and was a World War I veteran. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Albert Fogal FARMER CITY (PNS) Albert Fogal, 97, of Dunedin, died at 3 p.m.

Tuesday at his home. His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stensel-Calvert-Belangee Funeral Home, Farmer City, the Rev. Arthur Webb officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. He was born Dec. 26, 1883, in Corydon, a son of Peter and Minerva Stonecipher Fogal. He married Minnie Rowe. She died Aug.

18, 1963. Surviving are two daughters, Katherine Hunter, Dunedin, and Martha Stensel, Farmer City; 12 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. A son, four brothers and two half sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Tampa, was a 50- year member of the Masons of Farmer City. He moved to Farmer City in 1908 and farmed until 1928.

He was a clerk and substitute carrier in the post office and later in the offices of Gring and McCord grain elevators. He was assessor eight years in West Township in McLean County. After retiring, Mr. Fogal and his wife lived winters in Florida before moving there in 1948. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church of Farmer City or the American Cancer Society.

Ella M. Boeschen BENSON (PNS) Ella M. Boeschen, 84, died at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Hospital, Pontiac, where she had been a patient three days.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, near Benson, the Rev. Bruce Hanson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Remmert Funeral Home, Roanoke, and an hour before the funeral at the church. She was born Sept. 9, 1896, in Clayton Township, a daughter of John and Mary Rewerts Johnson. She married Oscar Boeschen July 19, 1916, at Eureka.

He survives. Also surviving are a son, Melvin, Benson; two daughters, Ethel Wragge, Roanoke, and Evelyn L. Boeschen, Benson; a sister, Lena Smilie, Benson; four grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded her in death. She was a member of St.

Peter Lutheran Church. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Memorial Fund. Lisa Marie DeLavega CLINTON (PNS) Lisa Marie DeLavega, 21, of 2114 Sumac Drive, Champaign, died at 11 p.m. Tuesday at Champaign after she was struck by a car while walking in the 1700 block of South Mattis Street, Champaign.

A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Woodlawn Cemetery, the Rev. Lloyd Wages officiating. Pullen-Boos Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. She was born Sept.

23, 1959, in Holly Park, a daughter of John Anthony and Lynn Loretta Terry DeLavega. Surviving are her father, Los Angeles; her mother, Lynn Dooley, Chico, stepfather, Walter Dooley, Chico, a brother, Richard DeLavega, Oroville, and a half sister, Shannon Marie, Chico. She was a computer programmer for the Intercom Co. in Champaign and was active in The Way International Biblical research teaching. Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph's Home, Peoria, the Rev. Silas Oleksinski officiating. Burial will be in St.

Joseph's Cemetery, Peoria. Visitation will be an hour before the service at the home. Davison-Fulton Western Chapel, Peoria, has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Claussen was born June 15, 1895, in Peoria, a daughter of Casimer and Anna Kowalski Blaschek.

She married William Claussen in Peoria. He died in 1948. Surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Claussen had worked at F.W.

Woolworth Variety Store in Bloomington and later at Chaband Keepsake Diamond Center. She retired in 1972. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mary L. Peek Mary L.

Peek, 71, of McLean County Nursing Home, formerly of W. Chestnut died at 5:20 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital Medical Center. Her funeral will be 11:30 a.m.

Saturday at Metzler Memorial Home, the Rev. Ernest L. Gerike officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.

Friday at the memorial home. She was born July 22, 1909, in Winchester, a daughter of Jonas and Minnie Byrd Parido. She married Asa J. Peek on May 5, 1924, in Peoria. He died Aug.

4, 1972. Surviving are two sons, Vernon, 506 E. Poplar Normal, and William, Stanford; two daughters, Hazel White, 610 E. Emerson and Katherine Barker, Northmeadow Village, Normal; two brothers, Earl Parido, of Florida; and Elmer, Beloit, 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters, two sisters, seven brothers and a great-grandson.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a former employee of St. Joseph's in the Central Supply department. Grover C. Broom Grover C.

Broom, 80, a retired construction laborer, formerly of Bloomington, died Tuesday at his Montgomery, home. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion Cemetery, Towanda, with Dr. Arno Q. Weniger officiating.

There will be a private family visitation. Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of local arrangements. He was born Dec. 7, 1900, in Cumberland Gap, a son of Frank and Margaret Harris Broom. He married Inez Poole in 1951 in Bloomington.

She survives in Montgomery, Ala. Also surviving are two sons, Jack, Saudi Arabia, and Gene, 100 W. Poplar Normal; one sister, Lula H. Blessing, 1201 W. Mill two stepchildren, seven grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son and a brother. He was a member of the Baptist church. Lawrence Christian Lawrence M. Christian, 59, Hudson, died at 8:06 p.m. Wednesday at Brokaw Hospital.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Main Memorial Home and at 11 a.m. at Epiphany Church. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.

He was born March 22, 1922, in Bloomington, where he lived for 50 years. He was a son of Ebon and Anna Dubeck Christian. He married Helen W. Power Feb. 1, 1940, in Indianapolis.

She survives. Also surviving are his mother, 903 Maple Normal; a son, John Michael, Marietta, a daughter, Laurel Neidhoefer, Hartland, sister, Mary Frances Kresge, Binghampton, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren. His father preceded him in death. He was a stoves supervisor at Illinois State University's physical plant. Mr.

Christian was a member of Epiphany Church and was the greatgrandson of Ebenezer Mitchel, one of the original settlers of Danvers Township. Memorials may be made to Clare House, 703 E. Washington St. An Illinois State University employee who has been unable to walk since a car accident several years ago left Wednesday for Washington, D.C., to serve on President Ronald Reagan's Committee on Employment of the Handicapped. Paulette Goeken has been confined to a wheelchair since suffering a spinal cord injury shortly after her graduation from Delavan High School.

The president's committee meets today and Friday at the Hilton Hotel in Washington. Raymond Cheever, a Bloomington resident who publishes Accent on Living, a magazine for handicapped people, is a permanent member of the committee. Miss Goeken attended classes at ISU the past three years, and last month began working full time in the university's personnel office. Dr. Judith Smithson, coordinator of services for the handicapped at ISU, said that being confined to a wheelchair does not inhibit Miss Goeken's ability to travel.

"'She has gained a total new independence here," Miss Smithson said. Danville woman's condition improves GIBSON CITY Blanche Nelson, 59, Danville, was listed improved from serious to "satisfactory" condition Thursday noon at Burnham City Hospital, Champaign. She was injured in a two-car crash on a blacktop road a mile southwest of Gibson City on Saturday. Hudson man's father dies in Oak Lawn Carl G. Thetard, 81, Oak Lawn, father of Edward A.

Thetard, R.R. 1, Hudson, died Tuesday at his home. There will be a funeral service for the immediate family. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund or the Easter Seals. Today's On The Record appears on page F4.
