John H. Young SAYBROOK The memorial service of John H. Young, 54, a rural Saybrook farmer, will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at United Methodist Church, Gibson City. The Rev.

Wally Krech will officiate. A private interment service will be in Drummer Township Cemetery, Gibson City. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Young died at 7:45 a.m. Sunday (July 26, 1992) at Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria. He was born March 15, 1938, in Bloomington, a son of Carl H. and Alma C.

Augspurger Young. He married Faye Litwiller Feb. 5, 1960, at Hopedale. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Gary, Gibson City; one daughter, Jill Wilber, Fort Knox, two brothers, Harold, Saybrook, and James, El Paso; one sister, Dorothy Metzler, Nappanee, and one grandson.

His parents, one brother and one sister preceded him in death. Mr. Young had farmed in rural Saybrook most of his life. He was a member of United Methodist Church of Gibson City. Memorials may be made to the church or to Gibson Community Hospital, Gibson City.

Bloomington-Normal Raymond E. Goble Raymond Earl Goble, 78, of 708 S. Bunn Bloomington, died at 7:15 a.m. yesterday (July 27, 1992) at his home. He had been ill.

He was taken to Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington. Michael D. Grady Michael David Grady, 49, of 401 E. Market Bloomington, was dead at 10:20 p.m. Sunday (July 26, 1992) at his home.

There will be no visitation. Mrs. LeBlanc died at 10:40 p.m. Saturday (July 25, 1992) at Bloomington Nursing Rehabilitation Center. She was born Dec.

17, 1908, in Cross River, N.Y., a daughter of William P. and Emmeline Le-Compte Van Tassel. She married John LeBlanc Dec. 24, 1942, in New York City. He died in 1957.

Irene Ropp Johnson BENSON Irene Ropp Johnson, 82, Minonk, formerly of rural Benson, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday (July 26, 1992) at Lida Home, Minonk. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Remmert Funeral Home, Roanoke, the Rev. Wayne Nelson officiating.

Burial will be in Clayton Township Cemetery, near Benson. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Johnson was born Sept 5, 1909, in Gibson City, a daughter of Serenus and Barbara Goldsmith Ropp. She married Edward F.

Johnson Jan. 23, 1949, in Minonk. He survives. Also surviving is one sister, Edna Springer, Chenoa. One brother preceded her in death.

"Jack" Marx, 74, of 406 W. Grant St, Streator, died at 1:15 a.m. yesterday (July 27, 1992) at St Mary's Hospital, Streator. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Immaculate Conception Church, Streator, the Rev.

James L. Morrissey officiating. Burial will be in St Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagi Funeral Home.

Streator, with a 7:45 p.m. wake service. He was born March 6, 1918, in Streator, the son of John P. and Margaret C. Bishop Marx.

He married Norma Kochis Nov. 23, 1939, in Streator. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mary Lou Johnson, Streator; two sons, John Manchester, and James Pontiac; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Zita Musovich and Margaret Samek, both of Streator; and two brothers, Francis Streator, and Robert, Mission Hills, Calif. Mr.

Marx served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. A lifetime Streator resident, he owned and operated Marx Grocery Store his entire life. He was a life member of Immaculate Conception Church and Streator Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the VFW, having served as its post commander; Streator American Legion; United Commerical Travelers; Loyal Order of Moose; and Eagles Lodge.

He had received a meritorious and distinguished service award from the VFW. He was a member of the of Bowling Hall of Fame and the Streator Men's Bowling Association Hall of Fame. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Fund. Durwood McCullough DWIGHT The funeral of Durwood H. McCullough, 72, of Terrace Nursing Home, Joliet, formerly of Dwight, will be at 10 a.m.

Wednesday at Von Qualen-Harris Funeral Home, Dwight. The Rev. Kenneth Benson will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Cabery. There will be no visitation.

Mr. McCullough died at 3:54 p.m. Sunday (July 26, 1992) at St. Joseph Medical Center, Joliet. He was born April 10, 1920, in Dwight, a son of Harold J.

and Elise M. Lockwood McCullough. Survivors include one brother, Donald Dwight. Mr. McCullough, who was educated in Dwight schools, had been a crib worker at Electro-Motive, LaGrange.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945. Harry Mehl DANVERS The funeral of Harry Bryan Mehl, 94, R.R. 2, Nena M. Heacock PAXTON Nena M. Heacock, 86, of Paxton, a 52-year member of the Paxton Woman's Club, died at 8:40 a.m.

yesterday (July 27, 1992) at the Illinois Knights Templar Home in Paxton, where she had been a resident 15 months. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Ford-Baier Funeral Home, Paxton, the Rev. Richard H. Swain officiating.

Burial will be in Glen Cemetery, Paxton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home with Eastern Star services at 7:45 p.m. Mrs. Heacock was born Aug.

8, 1905, in Petroleum, a daughter of Claude and Maude Kirkwood Shakely. She married Carl R. Heacock, Jan. 24, 1925, in Champaign. He died May 27, 1965.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce Carlson, rural Rankin; Sandy Andrews, Waukegan; and Linda Knecht, Buffalo City, eight grandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Erma Slick, Findlay, Ohio. Mrs. Heacock, who graduated from Robinson High School, and her husband had lived in Mattoon, Effingham, Hoopeston, Tuscola, Lawrenceville and Paris before moving to Paxton in 1938. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Paxton, and its United Methodist Women; the American Mothers several bridge clubs; and had served as senior adviser of the Paxton Junior Woman's Club. Mrs.

Heacock was honored in 1990 by the Paxton Woman's Club as a 50-year member. She was initiated into the Tuscola Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star Nov. 11, 1930, and was affiliated with Paxton's Prospect Chapter 367 April 8, 1956. She was a member of the Grand Cross of Colors of the Order of Rainbow for Girls. Her hobbies were knitting and playing cards.

Memorials may be made to her church, to the Illinois Knights Templar Home or to a charity of the donor's choice. Ruth M. Henderson BENSON The memorial service of Ruth M. Henderson, 87, Flanagan, formerly of Yucaipa, will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Beulah Land Christian Home, Flanagan.

There also will be a memorial service at 1 p.m. Aug. 29 at First Lutheran Church, Redlands, the Rev. Frank Gearhart officiating. Burial will be in Desert Lawn Cemetery, Calimesa, Calif.

There will be no visitation. Remmert Funeral Home, Roanoke, is in charge of local arrangements. Mrs. Henderson died at 11:10 p.m. Saturday (July 25, 1992) at Beulah Land Christian Home, where she had been a resident since July 1, 1989.

She was born June 16, 1905, in Englewood, a daughter of Fred and Ethel Barbee Miller. She married Sidney L. Henderson June 8, 1925, in Los Angeles. He died May 9, 1984. Survivors include one son, the Rev.

Earl Henderson, Benson; one daughter, Sheila Henderson, El Monte, one brother, Jim Miller, Lynwood, four grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. An infant daughter, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Henderson was a former post mistress in Yucaipa. She was affiliated with St.

Paul's Lutheran Church, Benson. Evelyn O. Hitchens PONTIAC Evelyn O. Hitchens, 80, of 804 N. Division St, Pontiac, a former Pontiac printing company employee, died at 11:35 p.m.

Sunday (July 26, 1992) at her home. She was cremated. A graveside service will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at South Side Cemetery, Pontiac. There will be no visitation.

Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home, Pontiac, has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Hitchens was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Fairbury, a daughter of John and Melinda Hornbeck Far-rell.

She married Toby Lampson, who preceded her in death. Survivors include several cousins. One brother preceded her in death. Mrs. Hitchens, who was educated in Pontiac, worked for Johnson Press for several years.

Clara Ann Hooser FARMER CITY Clara Ann Hooser, 73, of R.R. 1, Mansfield, formerly of Farmer City, died at 3 p.m. yesterday (July 27, 1992) at Dr. John Warner Hospital, Clinton. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m.

Thursday at Calvert-Belangee-Bruce Funeral Home, Farmer City, the Rev. James R. Poe officiating. i Wesleyan University, died at 4:30 a.m. yesterday (July 27, 1992) at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

His funeral will be at id a.m. Thursday at Christ Lutheran Church, Normal, the Rev. Philip S. Kaufmann offi Oliver R. Luerssen ciating.

Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Metzler-Froelich Memorial Home, Bloomington. Mr. Luerssen was born Aug.

26, 1916, in Chicago, a son of George H. and Vera C. Mueller Luerssen. He married Lois R. Dillon Aug.

20, 1955, in Normal. She survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Jade L. Dell, Oak Park, and Deborah R. Hall, 3109 Yorkshire Court, Bloomington; one sister, Shirley J.

Hemman, State College, and one grandson. Mr. Luerssen received his bachelor's degree in 1938 and his master's degree in 1939 from the University of Chicago. He did additional graduate work at the University of Illinois. He taught at Quincy College from 1939 to 1942.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1942 and was a ground school instructor in the V-5 Program at Illinois Wesleyan University, Bloomington. Mr. Luerssen joined the IWU faculty in 1944 and retired in 1979 as chairman of Department of Business Administration. During that time, he also taught CLU, CPCU and LOMA classes at State Farm Insurance Cos. and IWU.

He was a private pilot for more than 50 years. He owned a honey business, Luerssen Aviation Co. and a real estate rental business. Mr. Luerssen was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, Normal, Phi Kappa Sigma, Alpha Kappa Psi, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and Experimental Aircraft Association.

Memorials may be made to the church or IWU. George Schlesinger George Schlesinger, 83, of 1019 10th Hilltop Mobile Homes, Bloomington, died at 10 a.m. yesterday (July 27, 1992) at St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington. Arrangements are pending at Kibler-Smith Memorial Home, Bloomington.

James B. Trickett James B. Trickett, 47, of Cob-leskill, N.Y., formerly of Bloomington, died at 2:52 a.m. Sunday (July 26, 1992) at his residence. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m.

Thursday at Frederick R. Bennett Recreation Center, Cob-leskill, the Rev. Robert Jewell officiating. Burial will be in Cob-leskill Rural Cemetery. There will be no visitation.

Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, Cobleskill, has charge of arrangements. Mr. Trickett was born Jan. 24, 1945, in Lancaster, a son of Walter and Clara Haas Trickett. He married Pamela Eyers July 25, 1970.

She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Trickett, Cobleskill; one sister, Judith Carlock, Bloomington; and two brothers, Terry, Bangor, Maine, and Charles, Bloomington. His parents preceded him in death. Mr. Trickett received his master's degree in history from Illinois State University, Normal.

For the past 19 years, he was employed at State University of New York in Cobleskill as an associate professor in social science. He served in the Marine Corps in the Vietnam War from 1963 to 1966. Memorials may be made to St. Peter's Hospice, 315 S. Manning Albany, N.Y.

12208. Danvers, a retired farmer, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stanford Church of God, the Rev. Harry Greuel officiating. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Otto-Argo Funeral Home, Danvers, and one hour before the service at the church Wednesday. He died at 7:50 p.m. Sunday (July 26, 1992) at BroMenn Lifecare Center. He was born Feb.

19, 1898, in Stanford, a son of John B. and Anna Weinzierl Mehl. He married Elsie Skinner Dec. 22, 1923. She died Sept 24, 1937.

He then married Vena Evans May 20, 1939, in Bloomington. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Harry Lyle Mehl, R.R. 1, Stanford; a stepson, Donald Evans, Stanford; two stepdaughters, Ina Smiley, Germantown, and Patricia Vincent, 708 W. Front Bloomington; a brother, Paul, Bloomington; a sister, Loretta Gravett, Danvers; three grandchildren; 13 stepgrandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and 14 stepgreat-grandchildren.

A son, a brother and three sisters preceded him in death. He was a member of Stanford Church of God, where he taught Sunday school for 40 years. He also was a member of the McLean County Farm Bureau. Memorials may be made to his church. Charles Nafziger DANVERS Charles Nafziger, 79, Florida City, formerly of Danvers, died Saturday (July 25, 1992) in Miami.

He was cremated. There will be no visitation. Van Orsdel Funeral Home, 11220 N. Kendall Drive, Miami, is in charge of arrangements. Mr.

Nafziger was born April 13, 1913, in Danvers, a son of Albert and Florence Ebert Nafziger. He married Maxine Edwards in October 1934. She survives. Other survivors include two sons, Larry, Homestead, and Edward, Austin, Texas; one daughter, Linda Rodgers, Pinellas Park, one brother, Bertram, Canyon Lake, three sisters, Irene Davis, 1009 E. Grove Bloomington; Dorene McCuthen, Gat-linburg, and Marge Grandia, Pekin; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Three brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Nafziger was a member of the Carpenter's Local in Bloomington and later was a self-employed carpenter contractor in Danvers. He was a member, of the Presbyterian Church of Danvers and attended Normal Community High School. He played basketball for the Caterpillar Diesel traveling team and North Side Athletics.

Mr. Nafziger served two years during World War II in the South Pacific on the USS Birmingham. He was member and commander of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts. He was a Cub Scout den master and served two terms as a manager of Little League and Junior Legion youth teams. Anna Yeazle ELKHART Anna L.

Yeazle, 74, Elkhart, died at 2:20 a.m. yesterday (July 27, 1992) at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield. Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m, Wednesday at Holland Barry Funeral Home, Lincoln, the Rev. Robert Baker officiating. Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. She was born June 13, 1918, in Lincoln, a daughter of William and Cora Goff Devine. Survivors include two sons, Kenneth, Lincoln, and Marion "Butch," Galesburg; two daughters, Donna McCrea, Lincoln, and Jane (July 26, 1992)! at Martin Health Center, Bloomington. She will be cremated.

A memorial service at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens Cemetery will be scheduled at a later date. Metzler- R0se Stanley Froelich Me- Lewis mortal Home, Bloomington, has charge of arrangements. Mrs. Lewis was born Sept. 2, 1900, in Pine Bluff, a daughter of James Nelson and Elizabeth Stanley Scull.

She married Will I. Lewis Sept. 30, 1919, in Birmingham, Ala. He died May 13, 1977. Surviving are two daughters, Elizabeth "Libby" Lewis Tuck, Lit- tlf ft A.
