Guild Election Held; Many Xmas Parties, Livermore Livfefmore— The Catholic Ladies Guild were entertained in the parish hall Friday .afternoon with the December committee hostesses. The business meeting was conducted by the president Mrs Richard McKenna. At this meeting they had their annual election of officers as follows- president, Mrs Francis Murphy: vice president, Mrs Robert Won- di:i;ay; secretary, Mrs Keith Logue; treasurer, Mrs Alvin Lenerlz. The following were appointed heads of the circles for 1956: Mrs Alvin Berte, Mrs Peter Malkmus, Mrs Juluis Becker, Mrs Georee Foth, Mrs Karsten Kvitli, and Mis Richard Dunphy. The remainder of the aftef- noon.. was spent in playing five for the Holidays THE ELITE SHOP Wo're pulling in on Ihe Holiday Main Line with a load of old fashioned greetings to say "Thanks. Eailefn Slat Election The Eastern Stars held their regular meeting Tuesday evening. At this meeting they had their annual election of officers as follows: Worthy Matron Mrs Tommy Kissinger; Worthy Patron Tommy Kissinger; Associate Matron Mrs Paul Wade* Worthy Patron Paul Wade; Conductress Mrs Harold Stoddard; Associate Conductress Mrs Burell Smith: Secretary Mrs Jessamine Miller Treasurer, Mrs Charles Richard. Mrs Kenneth Howard v\ as hostess to the Past Matrons club at her home Friday afternoon. The business meeting was can- ducted by the president, Mrs Harry Claik. The remainder of the afternoon was Spent playing five hundred. Auxiliary Xmas Party The Legion Auxiliary held its Christmas parly in the Legion hall Monday evening. Following the business meeting conducted by the president, Mrs Fred Pooch, a musical reading was given by Mrs Harold Gronbach and Christmas carols were sung. Guessing games were also played %vith Mrs Vcrnon Fidcrlick winning the prize. The ,door prize wenl lo Mrs Virgil Smith. Christmas gifts were exchanged and there was a visit from Santa Claus. A candle light luncheon was enjoyed. Mr and Mrs Gale Berryhill al- attended a Rural Mail Carriers Christmas party recently at Van's Cale in Algona. Mr and Mrs Ed Sillier of Tulsa, Okla. visited last week with rclalives al the Ole Sillier. Richard Fullelon. and Bill Hastings homes. Dinner guests Sunday al the Mrs Kate Collins home in honor of the birthday of her daughter, Mrs Faber Dugan wcie Mr and Mrs Faber Dugan and familv oi Humboldt. Mr and Mrs Marvin M;iri<>w and family of Lone Rock and Charlotte Vohes of Whitlemore. Mrs Edward Hansen had the misfortune to fall on the ice on her porch lasl Thursday and broke her wrist. She was a patient in Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge, but is now home. Carol Wagner, who is a student nurse in Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge, spent the weekend \vi;h her parents, Mr and Mrs Ted Wagner. Mrs Robert Gronbach and Mr.- Dolores Christensen attended a shower at Mrs Loren Bell's nome in Algona Sun. afternoon in honor of Jean Bulgeman. who married Jerry Shey at St. Cecelia's Church in Alyona. Dec. 17. Mr and Mrs James Lempke attended a Lempke family Christmas dinner Sunday at the home of Mrs Bill Wagner in Vincent. Mrs Elwood Ruitimer.s went to I Rochester, Minn. Thursday for'a I check-up. i Mrs John Frederick is ill nt her j home suffering with a heart attack. Nurse Margaret Mai in is caring for her. The Christmas program at the Methodist Church was held Sunday evening Dec. 18. Richard Falb entertained the Youth Fellowship of the Meth* odi.^t Church at his home Sunday evening. A seven o'clock luncheon was served by Mrs Falb. The Contract Club was enter- lamed at the home of Lena Altman Saturday afternoon. Mr and Mrs Harold Hunt of Algona wore Monday dinner guesls at her parents, Mr and Mrs James Hughes. John Fuhrmann, son of Mr and Mrs Lawrence Fuhrmunn. was a paiienl nt the Mercy hospital in Fort Dodge where he went for X-rays. He suffered cuts on his head wbert he fell at school. Mfs George Folh, Mrs Mike Kisch, Mrs Louis Behounek, Mrs Francis Murphy, Mrs Qenevieve Weydert, Mrs Tom McKenna, Mrs Alvin Berte and Agnes Berte attended the C. D. A. meeting and Christinas party at St. Joe Wednesday evening. Mr and Mrs Herman Gronbach and Mr and Mrs Robert Gronbach attended the wedding of Jean Balgeman and Jerry Shey at St. Cecelia's Catholic Church in Algona Saturday morning al nine o'clock. The bride i.s a niece of Mrs Herman Gronbach.
