DIAMOND'S SURPLUS STORE Christmas Party Round For Many Titonka Groups Tifonka — Wednesday afternoon, Dec-. 14, the Methodist Ladies Aid held their annual Christmas tea at Fellowship hall with around 100 present. The opening part of the program was given in the Sanctuary with a play, and the tea followed in Fellowship hall. Program chairmen were Mrs June Goldman and Mrs Kalhryn Swan. Automobile Owners 1956 Motor Vehicle Licenses were available December 1st, and may be purchased before February 1, 1956, without penalty; after that date a penalty of five percent, with a minimum of one dollar, will be added EACH MONTH until licensed. Please bring in your last registration certificate when applying for new license - this means all motor vehicles including trailers NEW PLATES WILL BE ISSUED FOR AUTOMOBILES IN 1956. NEW PLATES WILL BE ISSUED FOR TRUCKS AND ALL TRAILERS AND MOTORCYCLES. MAILING CHARGE—Add an additional 30 cents to your remittance if you wish car or truck plates mailed. ALL TRAILERS Must be licensed each year-at the County Treasurer's Office. NO FREE TRAILER LICENSES. Wagon Box Trailers used by farmers for his own use—$5.00. Trailer with gross weight of 1,000 Ibs.—$3.00. Trailer with gross weight of 2,000 Ibs.—$10.00. All trailer licenses will be delinquent that are not licensed by February first. MUST HAVE TITLE TO SELL USED CAR There are no Transfers of Motor Vehicles under provisions of the new motor vehicle laws. Before a motor vehicle is sold the owner must have Title and Certificate which is assigned to the new owner, and new title issued in new owner's name. These must be obtained from the county where the owner resides. STORAGE Owners wishing to store their cars or trucks for 1956 may do so before February 1, 1956, therefore avoiding penalty if they wish to obtain a license later in the year. Cars in storage before or during the year 1955 are still in storage unless otherwise taken care of. Plates must be turned in to the treasurer's office while car is in storage. JUNKING In order to junk a car, both the license plates and registration certificate must be turned into the County Treasurer's office, together with a statement or affidavit for junking. TRUCKS Two plates will be issued on 1956 commercial registrations. A full year fee is required on class A-B and C. A registration on a half year fee can be issued on all classes above C. Semi-trailer Y must be issued for the full year. Truck licenses will be issued on the gross weight-that is, the combined weight of the truck itself plus the weight of the load. A program was given after which games were played and a delicious lifficti was enjoyed by all. Ramsey Aid Pariy The Ramsey Reformed church held its Christmas Ladies Aid party Thursday afternoon with around 85 members present. A program and Christmas gift ex-, change was enjoyed by all after which lunch was served. Mr and Mrs John Rike are the parents of a baby daughter Diane Kay born at Bxiffalo Cen* ter hospital, Ore. 6. The baby weighed 7 Ibs 4 oz. They have one other child a boy. Mr and Mrs Ray Honken and sons Vernon and Stanley of Buffalo Center were Friday evening guests of Mr and Mrs Alvin Honken. The Sewing Club had its annual Christmas party and dinner at the home of Mrs Leonard Callies Thursday evening at 1 o'clock. The evening was spent playing bingo for white elephant prizes after which a gift exchange and lunch was served. Mr and Mrs Ray Rippentrop are the parents of a baby daughter born Wednesday, Dec. 14, at the Buffalo Center hospital. The baby weighed 9 Ibs and has been named Ramona Kay. Mr and Mrs George Sachau and family were hosts to Mr and Mrs Henry Van Hove and family and Mr and Mrs J. L. Intermill and family of Titonka and Miss Leona Heitland of Buffalo Center Sunday, Dec. 18, for dinner and evening meal. The exchanging of gifts and movie slides during the social hour were enjoyed by all. Mrs George Sachau was hostess to her 500 club with a pot luck dinner at 1 o'clock Thursday afternoon. The afternoon was spent playing 500 with a gift exchange by the guests. Prizes were won by Mrs George Higgens and Mrs Pearl Ricklefs. Guests were Mrs Wm. Boyken, Mrs Elroy Hatten and Mrs Frank Fisher. Mr and Mrs Carl Giesking celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Thursday evening, Dec. 8. A program was held at the Immanuel Lutheran church with about 60 guests present. The program was put on by the children and grandchildren of the couple. Miss Julje McDonaTd, daughter of Mr and Mrs, Walker McDonald, has won the silver wings' of a United Air Lines stewardess and now serves aboard mainliners flying in and out of Los Angeles. Mr and Mrs Jay Budlong left Saturday morning for a trip tq California where they .will visit at the homes of their daughters, Mr and Mrs David Roberts and Mr and Mrs Everett Bissel and families. The Budlongs expect to spend most of the winter in Los Angeles and Long Beach. Mr and Mrs Harold Gartner and daughters and Mrs Mary Budlong left Friday for Florida where they will visit at the home of Mrs Alice Coyner and family. Mr and Mrs Charles Nygaard of Wesley visited her parents, Mr and Mrs George A. Eggleston Monday afternoon.
