a Pantagraph D-11 Bloomington- Ill. Feb. 14, 1979 Ford improves nursing home By Mary Ann Flick PAXTON-The Ford County Board Tuesday agreed to spend $5,750 in revenue sharing funds to cover the costs of improvements at the county nursing home. Included in the improvements, already done, are new doors, sprinkling system, a water cutoff system and an automatic door closer. A new snowplow also was purchased.

Some improvements at the nursing home were made to meet the state fire marshal's requirements. More modifications may be required in the future, Robert Weber, the facility's administrator, said. The funds were requested because the home does not operate with a sufficient profit to pay for the fire marshal's requirements. A $4,200 deficit was recorded by the nursing home for January. Increased costs in groceries and the improvements were cited as reasons for the deficit.

In other business, the board: -Raised the fee, effective March 1, for cases filed in Circuit Court from $1 to $2. The funds will be used to maintain the county law library. -Elected Virgil Elliott, Cropsey, to a three-year term as commissioner of the drainage district of Livingston, Ford and McLean counties. -Accepted Rantoul as the multi-county educational service region headquarters of Ford and Champaign counties. Included in the facility will be the regional office of education for the counties.

Rantoul was accepted because of its facilities and central location. -Agreed to spend $16,724 to build a bridge in Pella Township. The construction is a joint project between the township and the county. Total construction cost is $33,448. Bloomington Normal Deaths Pansy Sprague Pansy M.
