Accepted the resignation of Jack Price as chairman of the Board of Review and named Beulah Oakley, who has worked in the supervisor of assessments office, the replacement. Accepted bids from Earl Gibbons and Sons, Lincoln, for construction of a bridge on the DeWitt-Logan County Line for $26,000, and from Randolph and Associates for a bridge at Waynesville for $125,000. Another bridge is to be constructed in Santa Anna Township. Its cost will be $210,000, with the county paying $42,000 and the state paying the rest. Named three to the board of Prairie Center Drainage District: Howard Thorp, Richard Payne and Rosemary Dial.

Glen Wilson was named to Wilson Township Drainage District board. Approved $6,785 for material to replace signs and posts on county highways where needed. Fire feigned A cry of "fire" shortly before 6:30 p.m. Wednesday led to the theft of about $30 from Hen House Service Station, 1706 E. Empire Bloora-ington police said.

Police said a car with three men inside pulled into the station at 6:27. One of the men got out of the car and yelled "fire," which caught the station attendant's attention, according to police. As the attendant ran from the station to investigate, one of the men entered the station, opened the cash register and took the money, police said. The man returned to the car, which fled east on Holiday Lane, police said. Hospital Notes 44 ST.

Peter's Lutheran Cemetery, Benson. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at Goodale Funeral Home, Lockport. He was born July 24, 1910, at Lexington, a son of Eber and Minnie Richter Scurlock. His wife, the former Dorothy A.

Backer, survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Barbara Stefanich, Plainfield; Janet Wildman, Minooka; Leanne Woods, Joliet, and Laura Greenan, Lockport; a son, Marine Curry, New Jersey; a sister, Irene Eckel, Pontiac; a brother, Harold, Montana; and five grandchildren. He was a retired owner of a food locker service in Lockport and a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Lockport. Louise A.

Osier METAMORA (PNS) Louise A. Osier, 80, of Queenswood Nursing Home, Morton, and formerly of Metamora, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Methodist Medical Center, Peoria. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mason Funeral Home, the Rev.

Richard Shaw officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight. She was born Oct. 18, 1898, in Carlock, a daughter of Delf and Amelia Spring-born Speck.

She married Edward Bumeter in 1918. He died Dec. 11, 1928. She married Paul Osier Jan. 19, 1930.

He died July 11, 1933. Surviving are two daughters, Elma Barth, Metamora, and Clara Rowland, Mountain Home, three sons, Harold and Ed Bumeter, both of Metamora, and Clayton Osier, Peoria; a brother, Walter Speck, Washington; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren. A daughter, five sisters and a brother preceded her in death. She was a retired custodian at the Peoria post office. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.

Vandals damage cars with eggs, rock Two reports of vandalism to vehicles were on file Wednesday with Bloomington police. C. Wayne Miller, 402 S. State told police a vandal threw eggs at his truck and put eggs into the gasoline tank while it was parked in the 400 block of South State Street August 19 or 20. Police said damage to paint and engine of the truck totaled $1,000.

A windshield, of undetermined value, on the car of Priscilla A. Stevenson 706 E. Oakland was broken by a rock while the vehicle was parked at her residence about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Two cars damaged at owners' residences Two cars in Normal were damaged by vandals Tuesday while parked at their owners' residences, police said.

A knife or razor was used to slash the padded vinyl roof of a car belonging to Mike Zanardi, 714 Kathleen Drive, police said. Two windows were broken on the car of Steven Simpson, 1321 Franklin according to police. The damage appeared to have been caused by BBs or pellets, police said. No damage estimate was given. CLINTON (PNS) DeWitt County Board Tuesday night set a special meeting to act on next year's proposed budget for 9 a.m.

Monday. Members were given copies of the budget. Also to be decided at the special meeting is the use of $110,000 in revenue-sharing funds. The board also voted to lease computer tabulation equipment for elections for $2,950 per election from Fidlar and Chambers. The cost includes programming for the first two elections and personnel on the night of elections.

If the county decides to purchase the equipment, $2,000 of the leasing price would apply toward the cost. In other business, the board: Heard Emergency Services and Disaster Agency Coordinator Marilyn Strain announce she will enlist the aid of county agencies for an evacuation plan for a 10-mile radius around the Clinton nuclear plant. Raised the cost of care at DeWitt County Nursing Home from $25 to $27 a day, effective Dec. 1. Hit-and-run incidents reported A power pole, garbage can, van and car were damaged by hit-and-run vehicles in three incidents, according to reports on file Wednesday with Bloom-ington police. Police said a northbound vehicle hit and broke off a power pole on the east side of the 300 block of South Clinton Street, about 10:30 p.m.

Tuesday. Damage to the pole, property of Illinois Power Company, 319 N. Main was more than $1,000. Also damaged was a $5 garbage can belonging to Elmer Detloff, 310 S. Clinton St.

Karen E. Styron, 16 Woodruff Drive, told police her northbound car was stopped, preparing to turn west into Towanda Plaza from Towanda Avenue, when another car struck her vehicle from the rear and then continued north at 5 p.m. Tuesday, police said. Reports said damage was $200. Christopher E.

Friedlein, LeRoy, told police a hit-and-run vehicle did $200 damage to the front of his van while it was parked in the lot of Howard Johnson's Motor Lodge, Cabintown Road, between 8 and 10:25 p.m. Tuesday, reports said. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m.

Saturday at Waynesville Christian Church, the Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Pullen-Boos Funeral Home, Clinton.

She was born Nov. 23, 1901, in DeWitt County, a daughter of William and Martha Ann Cisco Ackerson. She married Proctor K. Taylor Nov. 18, 1920, in Lincoln.

He survives. Also surviving are a son, Howard, Broderick, a daughter, Marlene Fields, Waynesville; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Taylor was a member of Waynesville Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and was a foster grandparent at Lincoln Developmental Center, Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to the church. Vandals cut fence Vandals cut a cyclone fence about 6 p.m. Tuesday at the residence of Margaret Shank, 713 W. Jackson causing $150 damage, Bloomington Normal Deaths Gladys Wilson Gladys Wilson, 83, of 1209 N. Linden a vocal music teacher for many years, died at her son's home in Chenoa at 8 a.m.

Wednesday, She had been under a doctor's care. Her funeral will be a.m. Friday at Metzler Memorial Home, with the Rev. Roger Zimmerman officiating. Burial will be in Park Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the memorial home. She was born May 19, 1896, in Iron Mountain, a daughter of George and Florence Wilcox Snowden. She married Lloyd F. Wilson Jan.

1, 1921, in Iron Mountain. He died Feb. 1, 1972. Surviving are two sons, Daryl and Kenneth Wilson, both of Chenoa; one sister, Carol Ligon, Nashville, six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two sisters and one brother.

Mrs. Wilson taught voice at the Illinois Wesleyan University School of Music for a short time, and taught privately in Angola, and Bloomington for many years. She studied at the Chicago Musical College. A member of the Amateur Music Club, Mrs. Wilson had sung with the Saxton Singers and in the American Passion Play.

She was a member of the First Christian Church. Memorials may be made to the church choir fund. Paul Jabsen The funeral of Paul F. Jabsen, 93, of 1004 N. Main who died Tuesday, will be at 9:30 a.m.

Friday at Metzler Memorial Home and at 10 a.m. at Holy Trinity Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m.

today at the funeral home, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Mr. Jabsen was "a retired heating contractor, having owned and operated a furnace business in Bloomington for 60 years. He was born July 17, 1886, in Bloomington, a son of William and Helaina Jabsen. He married Agnes O'Connor Salch on Sept.

17, 1917, in New York City, shortly before leaving for France to serve in World War I. She preceded him in death in 1950. Mr. Jabsen was one of the pioneers of the credit union movement in the United States and helped to organize most of the credit unions in Bloomington-Normal, including the ones at St. Mary's parish, Trinity and State Farm.

Survivors include two daughters, Meredith J. Miller, 1238 Hilltop Mobile Home Court, and Gerene F. Parker, Peoria; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the American Legion and the Kinghts of Columbus. PONTIAC (PNS) Hilda D.

Finkenbinder, 81, of 506 W. Madison St. died at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mennonite Hospital, Bloomington. She had been ill a year.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church, the Rev. George J. Gude officiating. Burial will be in Camp Cemetery in Esmen Township.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Raleigh J. Harris Funeral Home. She was born June 12, 1898, at Marseilles, a daughter of John and Caroline Schroeder Schroeder. She married John Raymond Finkenbinder Jan. 1, 1924, at Marseilles.

He died in September 1977. Surviving are a daughter, Dorothy Fitzpatrick, Pontiac; three sons, Glenn, Cornell; Merle, Odell; and Eldon, Pontiac; five sisters, Ethel Roberts, Elgin; Ellen Schroeder, Carrie Schroeder and Hazel Blake, all of Ottawa; and Evelyn Johnson, Seneca; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A brother and three sisters preceded her in death. Mrs. Finkenbinder was graduated from Sherwood Music School of Seneca and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be made to the church or to Livingston County Heart Association. Fred Stiles LEROY (PNS) Fred Stiles, 82, died at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday at McDaniels Nursing Home, El Paso. He was taken to Stensel's Funeral Home. Repairs to begin on LeRoy high LEROY The LeRoy Board of Education Tuesday night awarded a $12,338 contract to Union Roofing Chenoa, for repair of the old high school roof and old gymnasium and auditorium roof.

In each case, the company will remove the old gravel from the roof and replace flashings, gutters and downspouts. Next, the entire surface will be cleaned and primed and a layer of hot asphalt applied. While the asphalt is still hot, a layer of washed gravel will be applied. All the blisters and cracks will be repaired. The work carries a one-year warranty and should be completed by late November, weather permitting.

The board heard a report on a special project that involves library and language skills. The program is paced to suit the needs of the individual student. Robert Poindexter, superintendent, said the program has been very successful. The board also heard a report on an instruction program in which students learn through the assistance of calculators. Poindexter said he felt that even though the district got a late start with the program last year, results indicate that it could assist students.

The board discussed the reactivation of the Human Growth and Development (Human Sexuality) Committee. The committee is composed of representatives from the high school and middle school and will work on developing programs to improve education on human sexuality. Poindexter shared a letter from three LeRoy ministers who offered support and assistance to the committee. In other action the board voted to issue new complimentary passes for sporting events. The passes will give free admission to school employees and their spouses.

The old passes provided free admission only to the employee. Man, 31, arrested Lloyd Cook, 31, of 224 Mobil-Land Mobile Home Park was arrested by McLean County sheriff's police Monday on a warrant charging him with deceptive practices. Cook failed to appear in court on the charge July 27, according to court records. He is charged with writing a bad $54.76 check March 24 at Redbird IGA Foodliner, 301 S. Main Normal.

He posted $200 to appear in court Oct. 19. Cornell Mr. and Mrs. William Dean Husted, Colorado Springs, Monday were visiting Cornell relatives.
