Lloyd Ahern, veteran ciner cinematographer, her, dies LOS ANGELES (AP) Lloyd Ahern, whose career as a cinematographer stretched from the silent Westerns to "Miracle on 34th Street" to "The Love Boat." is dead at the age of 78. Ahern, who photographed such top stars as Natalie Wood, Marilyn Monroe and Anne Baxter, died Dec. 29 at UCLA Medical Center after a series of strokes, said his son, Lloyd Ahern Jr. His funeral and burial were Tuesday.

Born in Biloxi, April 7, 1905, Ahern began his career as an assistant cameraman in 1926. His early work was on such films as Zane Grey silent Westerns.
