9 BITUARIES Sauk Valley SaukValley.com OBITUARIES GEORGE F. BURKS JR. Died: January 14, 2021 STERLING F. Burks 41, of Sterling, died January 14, 2021 at Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. A celebration of life will take place at 2:30 p.m.

on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Schilling Funeral Home and Cremation of Sterling. Visitation will take place prior to the celebration of life from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. schillingfuneralhome.com. CAYLEY M. KRUG Born: August 17, 2006 Died: April 10, 2021 DIXON Cayley M. Krug, age 14, of Dixon, died Saturday, April 10, 2021, due to the result of an auto accident. She was born on August 17, 2006, in Sterling, the daughter of Chris and Cathleen (Newton) Krug.

Cayley was a freshman at Dixon High School and was a past member of Key Club and youth softball. She enjoyed painting, drawing, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a shining star to many and will be missed dearly. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Robert Krug; and great-aunt, Pauline Yenny. Cayley is survived by her parents, Chris and Cathy Krug of Dixon; siblings, Dustin (Victoria Shepard) Krug, Colton Krug, Austin Krug, and Christopher Krug nieces and nephews, McKenna, Zayden, Camden, and Evelyn; paternal grand- mother, Vicki Brantner of Dixon; maternal grandparents, Larry and Bertha Newton of Chadwick; paternal great-grandmother, Lorriane Heckman; and aunts, Cindy Newton of Polo, Cherie Newton of Erie, and Chris (Brad) Aude of Chadwick.

She is also survived by her cousins, Lindsey (Michael) Chavez and their daughter Madellyn Chavez, Kelsey (Nate) Robbins, Nathan LeFevre, Trey Anderson, Brady Anderson, Baylee Anderson, Sidney Aude, and Bryce Aude; and great-aunts and great-uncles, Carol Heckman, Barb Kessel, Jeanne (Chuck) Jordan, Kathy (Don) Lisk, John Bork, Amil Bork, and David Bork. Visitation will be on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 4 until 8 p.m. at the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Private family funeral services will be on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the Jones Funeral Home, with burial at Pine Grove Cemetery in Dixon. Face covering is required at the services.

ERISMAN Born: April 30, 1957 Died: April 10, 2021 FRANKLIN GROVE Dale Eugene Erisman, 63, of Franklin Grove, passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021, at his home surrounded by his family. He owned and operated Erisman Garage for many years. Gene also worked for Kreider Services as a caregiver prior to his passing. Gene was born April 30, 1957, in Dixon, the son of Noah and Frances (Miller) Erisman. He married Susan (Shotola) Cook on April 18, 1999, in Franklin Grove.

He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Franklin Grove, and past treasurer for the church. Gene was also a member of the Franklin Grove Community Church Counsel and Kreider Services Alliance Board. Gene was a very important part of his community. He loved volunteering and working with individuals with disabilities. Gene was very passionate about politics and liked being informed.

He enjoyed trav- eling, but most of all spending time with his pets and family. He is survived by his wife, Susan Erisman of Franklin Grove; two daughters, Nichole (Jeff) Burfield, and Stacy Erisman, both of Ashton; stepson, Johnathon (Holly) Cook of Phoenix, AZ; stepdaugh- ter, Patti Cook of Oswego; four grandchil- dren, Megan Cheatham, Caitlin Cheatham, Cheyanne Cabrera, and Reagan Cook; one great-grandchild, Meadow Zies; his father, Noah Erisman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Gene was preceded in death by his mother, and sister, Brenda Williams. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the First Presbyterian Church in Franklin Grove, with cremation rites to follow.

A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, April 18, 2021, at Franklin Grove Church of the Brethren in Franklin Grove. Please be prepared to honor COVID-19 restrictions. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Ashton Fire Department Rescue Squad or Teen Turf in Amboy. Arrangements were completed by Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon.

EZEQUIEL RAMIREZ Born: August 7, 1957 Died: April 9, 2021 DAVENPORT, Iowa Ezequiel Ramirez, 63, of Davenport, Iowa, died Friday, April 9, 2021, in his home. Cremation will take place at Trimble Crematory in Moline, under the direction of Cremation Society of the Quad Cities. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Donations may be made to the family to help cover expenses. Ezequiel was born August 7, 1957, in Sterling, to David and Maria (Baeza) Ramirez. He was self-employed in construction. He enjoyed the outdoors, his granddaughters, having cookouts, and spending time with his family and friends. Ezequiel is survived by his significant other, Jeanine Lyon of Davenport; two chil- dren, Tiffany Ramirez of Erie, and Jeremy Ramirez of Fulton; granddaughters, Breanne Ramirez, Autumn Balk, and Aubrie Ramirez; siblings, Yolanda (Kurt) Porter of Marble Falls, Texas, Sara (Michael) Batten of Rock Falls, Raquel Harrington of Davenport, Iowa, Hope (Steve) Heerdt of Rock Falls, David Ramirez of Sterling, Mauro Ramirez of Sterling, and David (Mary) Ortiz of Rock Falls; along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Ramirez, and grandparents. Condolences may be shared at Crema- tionQC.com. NORMA J. BUSHMAN Born: June 23, 1942 Died: April 12, 2021 MAYTOWN Norma J. Bushman, age 78, of Maytown, died on Monday, April 12, 2021, at OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.

She was born on June 23, 1942, in Amboy, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Sibigtroth) Leffelman. Norma farmed with her husband in Maytown for many years, worked at in Princeton, and was a floral designer, earning a certificate in floral design from SVCC, working for Floral Crest in Mendota, and Valley Flowers in Spring Valley. She was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown, where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Norma married Leo Bushman on September 8, 1962 at St.

Patrick Church in Maytown. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Hubert Leffelman, Delbert Leffelman, and Norbert Leffelman; and sisters, Ruby McLaughlin, and Vivian Goy Burke. Norma is survived by her husband, Leo; daughter, Lori (Bruce) Setchell of Amboy; son, Patrick (Elizabeth) Bushman of Dixon; five granddaughters, Katherine (Andrew) Bulfer, Emily (Thomas) Swenson, Julia Setchell, Maggie Bushman, and Gretchen Bushman; and three great-grandchildren, Lee, Delaney, and Clara. She is also survived by one brother, Gilbert (Linda) Leffelman of Amboy; one sister, Carol (Charles) Koch of Fond du Lac, WI; one brother-in-law, Lawrence (Gloria) Bushman of Franklin Grove; one sister-in- law, Mary (Roger) Kuffel of Kewanee; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 9 to 10:45 a.m.

at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown. There will be a private family Mass after the visitation, and burial will follow at St. Patrick Cemetery in Maytown. Face coverings are required for services.
