World Cup to Aussies BUENOS AIRES (UPI)4t was a victory for old duffers everywhere. Roberto de Vieenzo, unassuming and "very tired," whipped young Australians Bruce Devlin and David Graham where it really counted Sunday head-to-head in the last round. "You played lousy golf," he joked with Devlin in the dressing room after their six-hour marathon, "but you guys won anyway." De Vieenzo, the Argentine legend who tossed away the 1968 Masters with the stroke of a pen and then lost a playoff to Bob Goalby, could afford a little humor. After all, he had just won the coveted Silver Trophy sought by 86 golfers from around the world in the 1970 World Cup tournament. With 15,000 countrymen swarming over the fairways behind like Amie's Army, De Vieenzo stiot.

The Australians won the team title with a record 32-under-par total built in the first three rounds, but De Vicenzo's personal 19-under-par took the individual trophy by one stroke over 24-year-old Graham. Westminster lost three and Geneva two, both teams had two pass interceptions. 24 So. Dak. St 0 By MIKE LEITERA News Sports Writer When most people hear of Williamsport, they automatically think of Little League baseball, as it is the home of the Little League World Series. Saturday afternoon the West Side Packers showed the sparse crowd how to play football by walloping the Williamsport Vikings 66-0 at Tate Field. The field was as bad as conditions were for the EUwood-New Castle game Friday night, us there was a steady drizzle during the entire game.

The Packers were at a slight disadvantage as the field was only 80 yards in length and about 30 yards wide. This was according to Pop Warner rules, but the Packers are used to playing on a regulation field. This hurt them on their end sweeps as they couldn't go wide, but the Panthers were able to run through the middle like a sieve. While the offense was scoring at will the defense was also playing a great game as it kept the Vikings in their territory most of the night. The only time the Vikings threatened was when the Packers had their scrubs in the game at the tail end of the second and final quarters.

In the fourth period with only a few seconds the Vikings tried desperately to avert a shutout. Their last pass as the gun sounded was picked off by Roland Thompson. Two yards deep in the end zone. He broke for the right sideline and with the help of two blocks, started sophomore Craig McNarnara at quarterback in place of Bierbach, but went to his senior midway through the first quarter Thompson and Bierbach shared the punting duties for the Titans in place of regular kicker Roger Price. I'avsn alitmplcd Pmws comptttri! broke into the open and raced 82 yards for the Packers final TD.

They didn't attempt the point after, The Packers offense was so powerful that it tallied the first four times it had the ball. White most coaches would be unhappy after getting whipped the Vikings coach Tom Bafalina was impressed. "Those boys (West Side) are just great." He continued, "They taught us a lesson today in hitting." "This was the first game all season that we have really been hit," commented Bafalina. He also stated that he had no hard feelings. Keith Hunter started the scoring parade for the Packers with a nine yard run and added another TD in the third period on a 12 yard run.

Hunter also tallied two point after s. Lynn Hailstock was the big gun for the Packers with three TD's and one extra point for a 19 point day. His first touchdown came in the first period on a 17 yard run. He scored in the third on a four yard and in the fourth on a three yard carry. Mark Mahone, Keith Lampkins and Don Currie also got into the scoring act.

Mahone tallied a TD on an eight yard run and had three extra points. Currie hit paydirt on an eight yard run and Lampkins scored on a seven yard run while also adding his point after. Thompson scored earlier on a 55 yard halfback pass from Hunter. Hunter took the handoff from quarterback Cap Fuqua and threw a perfect strike to ihn floor is Beetle. nil, it the lngriarje never find on yesteryear.

Their lone loss last week to McCullough Williams of Youngstown shouldn't really count THE MCCULLOUGH WILLIAMS team didn't go by under Pop Warner rules and weighed nearly ten pounds more than the regulation 135 pounds per boy and were also a year older, The Packers didn't find this out until just before the game, but decided to play the contest after all and lost 38-fl. Playing their last game for the Packers were: Don Currie, Roland Thompson, Bill Hogan, Aubrey Ward, "Charlie" Brown, Tom Dennis, Ken Walley, Don Quinn, Ken Lucas, Cap Fuca, Lynn Hailstock, Keith Hunter and Mark Mahone. THE TOWNSPEOPLE of Williamsport are so baseball minded that all of their fields for Little League are brilliantly lighted while for football they couldn't care if the Green Bay Packers were in town.

Most of the Deonle this writer talked with didn't even know what Pop Warner was about, The funniest thing about it was that they couldn't figure out why there high school hasn't had a winning season in the last ten vears. Bafalina was one of the originators of the Pop Warner probram that just got started this year and he couldn't even get the cooperation of the high school coaches. fully H9 things you could fte Inc.
