Winkel and Mrs Wm. Dodds gave a miscellaneous shower Friday evening for Jean Balgeman whose marringc to Dr. Jerry Shey will take place Dee. 17. Court Whist was played and the high and low score prizes wont to Ella Burke and Mrs Milton Marlowe respectively. Opal Kern won the "lucky" pri/e. Jtobby Club Host Mrs O. B. Marines entertained 1he members of her Hobby club Monday afternoon. They are Agnes Dreesman, Wilma Kinder), Mildred Hernon, Irma Lee Dcim, Valeria Williams, Marjorie Jcn- ^en. and Daisy Ellis, of Britt. Guests who belong to another club were Jo Hardy, Betty Schildknecht and Evelyn Baldus. School Programs The High School and Junior High \Pill present a Christmas program, "Living Christmas Cards", at the hifih school audi- lorium Wednesday, Dec. 14, 8 p.m. No admission is charged and the public is invited to attend. The program is being arranged by the music and art departments. 'Eight Specks' Mrs Milton Dah! entertained the members of the "Eight Specks" card club last week Wednesday evening. The women had dinner at Van's thcu 1 < went to Mrs Dahl's for cards. High score prize was .won by Mrs Mabel Lee and Mrs W. J. Sigsbee won the low score prize. Post-Nuptial Shower A post-nuptial shower is being held Sunday at Humboldt for Mrs Vincent Bernardo, nee Joan Fain. Hostesses will be her grandmother and aunt, Mrs H. S. Fain and Mrs WiJJiam Fain. The mother, Mrs M. H. Fain, will be m attendance. Plan A Parly The Rebekah Lodge Christmas party and potluck supper will be held Tuesday evening, Dec. 13, at 6:30 p.m. at the'Moose Hall. Mrs Irelan Hostess Mrs' W. C. Irelan entertained' the members of her bridge club Tuesday afternoon. Hosl*ss/> Garden Club Members of the Garden Club met Monday with Mrs H. S. Montgomery for a dessert lunch i\l \ o'clock. The afternoon was spent making Christmas wreaths lor St. Ann hospital, the Roberts Nursing Home and the Kossuth County Home. Mrs Paxson Hostess Mrs Mebel Paxson was- hostess to tile members of her bridge club Wednesday afternoon. Lunch was served at Van's at one o'clock after which cards were played at her home. There was an exchange of Christinas gifts. Scouts Xmas Party Den 3 Scouts held a Christmas party Sunday evening in the recreation room at the W: A. Hardys. A pot luck supper was served to the boys and their parents. There was an exchange of gifts. Hostess At Bridge Mrs James Egli was hostess to the members of her bridge club last week Thursday evening. High and low score prizes were won by Mrs Willarcl Stcffan and Mrs Everett Barr respectively. Rebekah Staff Party The Rebekah -staff birthday club met Tuesday evening with Bernitas Lynk. This was n Christmas party with an exchange of gifts as the secret sisters identities were revealed. Bill Aliens, Hosts Mr and Mrs Bill Allen entertained rhembers of their 500 club Saturday evening. Mrs Allen won high prise and Mrs Joe Deines was lov -pri/e winner. The club meets once each month. Royal Neighbors Royal Neighbors Lodge will have a pot luck supper Wednesday evening, Dec. 14, at the Moose Hall. Secret Sister gifts will be exchanged. Birthday Club Mrs" Frank Ostrum will entertain the members of tier birthday club Saturday evening. The anniversary of Mrs Esther Helberg will be observed. To Silver Wedding , Mr and Mrs, August Schmidt fire going to Corwith Sunday to attend the Silver wedding anniversary of Mr Schmidt's uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs Alfred Schmidt.
