Search goes on STORRS, Conn. (UPI) A University of Connecticut scientist has been awarded a $360,000 National Science Foundation grant to aid his quest for improved orthopedic implant alloys. Dr. Norbert D. Greene, in the metallurgy and general dentistry departments, is trying to find the best alloys for such implants as bone screws and artificial hips.

One of the highlights of the last weeks was an over-night-stay at Camp Glenn Lori in Wampum. Everyone enjoyed the two day experience around the old mansion. There was swimming, singing, campfires, a slide show, horseback riding and good food for everyone. Campers thank Mrs. Evelyn Boston and the Jaycees for helping to sponsor the event.

The camp also spent a fun day at Sea World in Ohio. There was a lot to see and do there. The end of the long day found everyone tired but yet agreeing it was worth the wait to see such things as Shamu the Killer Whale. Harbor Lanes was full of action when the campers got the chance to try their luck at bowling. Strikes, spares and gutter-balls added up to make everyone a winner of a happy experience.

"Mary Poppins" also delighted the camp when the children spent the day at the Cinema Theater. A family Pic-nic was also held. It was the campers turn to treat their parents and even the rain couldn't dull the fun thanks lo the friendly people at Thaddeus Stevens School.
