Saturday, Dec. 3. Table decorations were in the bride's colorsi red and white. Michael Kain, Ann and MaryKae Loebach, Barbara Drone and Vi Dacken were on the program and Connie and Paula Priebe assisted 1 the bride-to-be as she •opened her gifts. Hostesses were • Irene Drager, Martha Drager, Magdalene Priebe, Mae Fitzgerald, Mildred Scuffharn, Ivy and Lola Scuff- ham, Violet Benschoter, Beulah Seeley. Edna Riedel, .Irene Nauman, Vi Dacken, Leola Gardner and Florence Bleich. Farewell Party V A farewell party was held Monday evening at Mr and Mrs Ervin Gerber's for their son Ronnie and nephew Robert Mogler who left Tuesday for the service. 1 Ronnie went to Des Moines for his physical and expects to be sent to the Great Lakes naval base. Robert went to San Antonio, Tex. Others in attendance were Mr and Mrs George Bruellman and Eugene of Ottosen, Mr and Mrs Sam Mogler, Mr and Mrs John Scuffharn, Mr and Mrs John Gerber, Mrs Bernr ard Wichtendahl and Mrs Fred Williams. Cresco Aclivities-- The Cresco Chums 4-H gave a kitchen shower for Helen Gade on Nov. 23 at the home of Beverly Gerber. A "Mnfek Wedding 1 ' was presented by.Dorothy Gade, Beverly Gerber. Theresa Thilges, Janice Besch, Deanne & Delores'Eisenbarth. Games were also played.' Lunch was served by the committee. 1 The Cresco Mother's & Daughter's Club will meet with Mrs Douglas Wildih Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 14. There will be a $1.00 gift exchange. ) : Al Nursing Meeting Mrs C. W. Ruske of Fenton, Mrs C. G. Macumber and Joyce Hayden braved icy roads Satur,day, Dec. 3 to attend the meeting at Fort 'Dodge of the Iowa Red Cross Home Nursing ^ instructors and representatives. Mrs Roy Richardson, Home Nursing chairman, reports that 107 women in the county regis- .tered for the T.V. classes. 82 •wojn'en attended one or more of three practice sessions with class ^•oofhs set up in Fenton, Bancroft and Algona. Birthday Parly 'Mrs William' Drayton observed at birthday, anniversary Friday, Dec. 2, and' had as guests Mrs Jessie Elmore, Mrs George Lee, Mrs Alden Shaw, Mrs 'Orville Holdreh, Mrs Elizabeth Herr, Mrs George Rich and Kathy, Mrs John Rich, Mrs John McNeill, Mrs Heran Lindeman, Mrs Walter Rich, Mrs Nettie Rich and Mrs Dan Fisher and daughters, Donna, Becky and Ruth. ^The lunch was provided by the guests and Mrs Draytbn received many nice gifts. ^ B. & P. Card Party The Business and Professional women held n benefit card party last week Tuesday evening .at Van's. Those on committee were Nellie Van Allen, chairman, Bernadine Allen, Zelba Brown, Katherine Cook, Florence Valentine and Ella Zumach, Court Whist was played and the high and low score prizes were won by Freda Steussey and Doris Vandcrham respectively. Laverne Johnson and Neva Steven won the door prizes. Council For Retarded Parly The Council for Retarded Children of Kossuth County will meet Monday, Dec. 12, at 7:30 p.m. at the Presbyterian church for the annual Christmas party. Gifts are to be brought for the children and a collection will be taken to be sent to Woodward instead of the gifts. A report on the recent fund campaign will be given. So far, over $550 has been contributed for which the Council expresses sincere thanks. Sixth Birthday Mrs August Schmidt gave a party Saturday afternoon in honor of the sixth birthday of her daughter Linda. Guests were Jane Sorensen,' Carol Sue Etherington, Dean, Nova, LaDonna and Dale Mittlieder. Ann Seger, Roger and Duane Bierstedt, the honoree's brother Lynn and Mrs Frank Mittlieder who assisted Mrs Schmidt. Linda Sjogren was unable to be present because of sickness. Degree Of Honor The Degree of Honor and the husbands held a Christmas party Monday evening at the Moose hall Dinner was served and the men exchanged gifts. The secret sisters oi the women were revealed with a gift exchange. Forty- seven were present. Lois Strayer and Bernitas Lynk were chairmen and were assisted by Ida ChSm Ellen Marshall, Mary Muekey and Rosella Larson. Attend Wedding Mr and Mrs Everett Baldus and family and the former's b™»her. La Vern spent last weekend at Austin, Minn., with the respective mother a«d father.
