Mary M. Telford DWIGHT The funeral of Mary M. Telford, 89, of Dwight will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Von QualenHarris Funeral Home, Dwight. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Emington.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home. Mrs. Telford died at 9 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3, 1989) at Fernwood Health Care Center, Dwight, where she was a resident, following a short illness.

She was born Nov. 27, 1899, in Ransom, a daughter of Robert and Jessie Wyllie Linton. She married Lyle E. Telford Jan. 14, 1920, in Emington.

He died May 19, 1940. Surviving are one daughter, Jane Rabe, Dwight; two grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Mrs. Telford attended rural Emington schools and Michigan State University. She retired in 1974 housekeeper at the Veterans Administration Hospital and William W.

Fox Center, both of Dwight. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Royal Neighbors and Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, all of Dwight. Memorials may be made to the church or Fernwood Health Care Center. Russell Schoenbein MORTON Russell E. Schoenbein, 65, of Morton died at 5:15 p.m.

yesterday (Oct. 4, 1989) at the Apostolic Christian Restmor Morton, where he had been a patient since Aug. 29 of this year. His funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Ludwig-Rohrschneider Mortuary, Morton, Worldwide Church of God ministers from Peoria officiating.

Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery, Morton. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the mortuary. He was born Jan. 20, 1924, in Morton, a son of Carl S.

and Lillian Kinsinger Schoenbein. Survivors include one sister, Elizabeth Birkey, Morton; four brothers, Robert and Donald, both of Pekin; Irvin, Manito; and Dayton, Morton. Two brothers preceded him in death. A laborer, he last worked for Bob Zimmerman Excavating, Tremont, where he retired in 1986. He also worked at Otto Baum Sons and William Knapp Company, both of Morton.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Marie Hallowell FARMER CITY Marie Hallowell, 95, of Farmer City died at 2 a.m. yesterday (Oct. 4, 1989) at her residence. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m.

8, 1894, in Clark County, Iowa, a daughter of Daniel and Josephine Puckett Hallowell. The family moved to Farmer City in 1899. She is survived by a sister, Vera O'Meara, Farmer City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

She taught in the primary department for more than 40 years in the Farmer City United Methodist Church and the Weedman United Methodist Church. Miss Hallowell was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for more than 60 years. She was a past Worthy Matron of 1933. She was a former member of the Shakespeare Club, Farmer City. Ruth A. Webb MACKINAW The funeral of Ruth A. Webb, 71, of rural Danvers, superintendent of the former Oak Knoll Tuberculosis Sanitarium near Mackinaw, will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mackinaw United Methodist Church. The Rev.

Don Doty will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Deer Creek. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Haensel Funeral Home, Mackinaw. Mrs.

Webb died at 11 a.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3, 1989) at her home. She was born Dec. 3, 1917, at Table Grove, a daughter of Everett J.

and Jessie Rasmussen Rinker. She married Norman F. Webb on March 11, 1941, at Davenport, Iowa. He died May 25, 1968. Survivors include four sons, Norman F.

II, Delavan; James, Danvers; David, Dillon; and Joseph, Eureka; one daughter, Pamela Conzo, Germantown Hills; one brother, Robert Rinker, Morton; two sisters, Mary Wright, Bellevue, and Ellen Tingley, Nashville, 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Webb graduated from Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing in Peoria and joined the Oak Knoll staff in 1950. In 1953, she was named superintendent. Although the Oak Knoll inpatient clinic closed at Mackinaw in 1973, the outpatient services continued until 1978, when the services were moved to the Tazewell County Health Department center near Tremont.

Mrs. Webb administered the county tuberculosis clinic until administration was assumed by the Tazewell County Health Department December 1979. Steidinger WASHINGTON Weldon R. Steidinger, 63, of Washington died at 4:45 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3, 1989) at the Beechwood Health Care Center, Pekin. His funeral will be 11 a.m.

Other survivors include four brothers, Harold, Secor; Carl, Strawn; Kenneth, 155 Manor Circle, Bloomington; and Donald Forrest; and two sisters, Dorothy Beal, Forrest; and Lila Bartlett, Sarasota, Fla.

He was employed by Caterpillar Inc. as a machine operator for 36 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Caterpillar Retirees Club and the American Legion Post 100 in Washington. Mr. Steidinger was a World War II Navy veteran.

Robert E. Hyatt STREATOR Robert E. Hyatt, 73, a resident of the Streator area for 40 years and a retired water company employee, died at 1 a.m. yesterday (Oct. 4, 1989) at St.

Mary's Hospital, Streator. He had been in ill health several months. His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator, the Rev. John McClimans officiating.

Burial will be in Emery Green Cemetery, rural I Streator. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Hyatt was born Sept.

19, 1916, in Jackson, a son of Meredith and Minnie Hyatt. He married Evelyn Van Meter in 1944. Mrs. Hyatt, a retired teacher and principal for whom the Otter Creek-Hyatt School was named, died Sept. 21.

Three brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Hyatt was retired from the Northern Illinois Water Co. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a charter member of Hope United Methodist Church, Streator. Memorials may be made to his church.

Ronald D. Jensen HEYWORTH Ronald D. Jensen, 58, a resident of rural Neosho, since November 1977, and a retired Navy Hospital Corps master chief petty officer, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 3, 1989) at Gravette Medical Center, Gravette, after an illness.

His graveside funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at National Cemetery, Springfield, with full military rites. An Army chaplain from Fort Leonard Wood, will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Home, Neosho, Mo.

Mr. Jensen was born Jan. 5, 1931, in Heyworth, a son of Glenn and Margaret Marshall He married Claudia S. Guthrie on July 9, 1966, in Quantico, Va. She survives.

Other survivors include a son, Eric, at home; a daughter, Kim Jensen, at home; and one sister, Glenola King, 808 S. Summit Bloomington. Mr. Jensen retired Dec. 1, 1969, after 23 years in the Navy.

He was a member of the Neosho Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4142 and Fleet Reserve 315, Joplin, Mo. He moved to Neosho from Vista, Calif. He was a member of a Bloomington Methodist church. Wharram was a carpenter for 40 years with Heinz Construction Peoria, and a member of Local 183 of United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Peoria. He retired in July 1981. Alfred D. Stimpert MINONK The funeral of Alfred D. Stimpert, 87, rural El Paso, a farmer in the El Paso area for many years and a former director of the Federal Land Bank, will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Minonk.

He was born Sept. 6, 1902, in Panola Township, Woodford County, son of Theodore and Carrie Kalkwarf Stimpert. He married Clara O'Brien on March 6, 1932, in Minonk. She died in February 1982. Survivors include two sons, Alfred Pekin, and Dan, Morton; one daughter, Shirley Sommer, St.

Louis; three sisters, Rosa Willabrand, Yukon, Katherine Bowman, El Paso; and Florence Meyer, Florida; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. One son, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death. Mr. Stimpert was a past president of the El Paso Board of Education. He was a member of St.

Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, rural Arrowsmith. There will be no visitation. He was born Oct. 6, 1912, in Shirley, a son of Harry B. and Katherine Carr Quinn.

He married Ethel R. Robinson on Sept. 6, 1941, in Bloomington. She died Dec. 13, 1983.

He is survived by a son, William Seattle, two sisters, Helen Fischer, Murray, and Virginia Musick, Mendota; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a foster sister. Mr. Quinn retired from the Soil Conservation Department of the U.S. government.

His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Carlinville, the Rev. James Neuman officiating. Burial will be in New Calvary Cemetery, Carlinville.

ACD group names regional director Mary Silver, 112 Prospect Road, Bloomington, has been named regional director of the Association for Child Development, 901 E. Grove Bloomington. Miss Silver's Mideastern 1 region includes 15 Illinois counties, with four field representatives covering the area.

She will cover Vermilion and Ford counties, in addition to managing the regional Mary office. Her Silver hometown, Hoopeston, in Vermilion County, has about 12 day-care providers on the ACD program. She is a 1989 graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in child development and family relations. ACD is a non-profit organization involved in a variety of childrelated activities, including sponsoring the Child Care Food Program for licensed home day-care providers. The program is a federally funded extension of the school lunch program.

Forum on aging set in Bloomington The challenges and opportunities of an "Aging America" will be the focus of a local forum in preparation for the 1991 White House Conference on Aging. The forum will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 12 at the University of Illinois Cooperative Extension Service, located at the McLean County Farm Bureau Building, 402 N.

Hershey Road, Bloomington. The event is sponsored by the East Central Illinois Area Agency on Aging in cooperation with the extension service. More than 100 older residents, community leaders and service providers from McLean, DeWitt and Livingston counties will participate. Myrna Harold Garner Gregor Faculty recognized Two Illinois State University faculty members have been awarded Burlington Northern Foundation Awards. Myrna Garner of the home economics department and Harold of the art department were recognized for teaching excellence.

Each received $2,500 and a Sept. 28 from Thomas Wallace, ISU president. In 1986, Ms. Garner was named outstanding teacher in the College of Applied Science and Technology. Gregor won the outstanding teacher award -in 1985 in the College of Fine Arts.

Two awards are given each year for teaching excellence. Elected vice president Jon Hufnagle, a professor of speech pathology and audiology at Illinois State University, has been elected vice president of professional affairs for the Illinois Speech-Language-Hearing Associa- tion. The group, with 1,600 members, is the professional organization for speech-language pathologists and audiologists in Illinois. Eureka grant EUREKA Caterpillar Inc. has renewed its commitment to the Caterpillar Excellence Fund to support Eureka College faculty development with a $100,000 grant to run through 1992.

The fund was established in 1987 with a $50,000 grant for 1987 and 1988 and has allowed about 90 percent of the Eureka faculty to participate in faculty development activities, including release time expenses for writing, research and professional presentations. Repairs to close IAA access road Work on the entrance to Colonial Plaza and Empire Plaza, including mart, will shift Friday, forcing Bloomington officials to close the south access to IAA Drive for several weeks, the Engineering Water Department said. The reconstructed western two lanes of the entrance will open and the eastern two lanes will close for the construction project. When the eastern lanes close, their connection to IAA Drive will close, too. Motorists still will be able to reach businesses along IAA Drive from the north end access at GE Road or at Rowe Drive. The work will take two to three weeks.
