Glenn Kollasch, son of Mr and Mrs Fred Kollaseh, who has spent most of his service in Germany in the army, called his parents last Wednesday that he landed in New York and would arrive home after his discharge. Weekend guests at the home of Mrs Elizabeth Mergon, southeast of here were Mr and Mrs Kenneth Cull of Blurnington, Wis., and Mr and Mrs Robert Losch of Chicago,-111. Mrs Mergen and Mrs Ralph Reding of St. Joe accompanied them home and will spend several weeks visiting. Mr and Mrs Sam Mogler of Whittemore and Mr and Mrs Geo. Bruellman of Ottosen left last week Wednesday for Fort Houston, Texas, where they are visiting with the former's son Robert Mogler, who underwent surgery last week Tuesday. He expects to leave for Korea in the near future. Mr and Mrs Harry Seely of here, accompanied by Mr and Mrs Hugh Raney of Algona, attended the Ice Follies at Sioux City, Friday and visitt'J with Mrs Seljy's brother, Dr. and Mrs Forrest Cairy and family in Sioux City. Mr and Mrs Noah Reisner received a message Monday of the death of Mrs Minnie Reisner, an aunt, in Milwaukee, Wis. Robert Braatz accompanied by his mother. Mi's Louis Braatz. •spent Sunday at the home of Mr and Mrs Robert Waite in Ventura. Wayne Gade and Roger Elbert, are both patients at St. Ann hospital in Algona. A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Frank Smith Jr., Nov. 21, and also a daughter to Mr and Mrs Q. W. Torpin, Nov. 21; Mr and Mrs August Vaudt Jr.. a daughter, Nov. 13: and a daughter to Mr and Mrs Harold Elbert, Nov. IV, all at St. Ann hospital in Algona. M. C. Schwin, district manager of the Wayne Feeds from West Union, will move his family and furniture here Dec. 3. They will occupy the Mrs August Vaudt Sr. home in the west part of town. Due to a fall last summer Mrs Vaudt has been handicapped and hospitalized, and last week moved to the home of her daughter. Mrs Anna Behnke where she will make her future home. Beverly Zumach left last wcvk for Sioux City to resume nurse's training. She had recently returned home from Milwaukee, Wis., where she took up a special course. • R. M. Anderson To So. America , Swea & Eagle- — Richard M. Andefson left Friday, Nov. 18 for Des Moines to join a party of 15 persons on a tour sponsored by The Spokesman, Iowa Farm Bureau publication. The trip, with Jim Charlton as official guide, will cover some 20',000 miles going from Des Moines to Washington, D. C., Houston, Texas and thence to Cuba, Peru and other places of interest in South America. The party will return to Des Moines Dec. 17. Richard, a bachelor farmer in" this community, toured Europe last year and has traveled through most of the stales. His brother and sister-in-law, Mr anrt Mrs Carl Anderson took him to Des Moines to begin the current tour. LoRoy Seller of Ames and his parents, Mr and Mrs A. J. Seiler. joined others of the family at a Thanksgiving dinner in the Dale Swaney home at Britt. Iowa, at the office of the City Clerk. City Hall. Algonn. Iowa, until 7:30 o'clock p.m.. December 28. 1955. for the purchase of filters and circulation system for the municipal swimming pool for the City of Algona. Iowa. The extent of the work shall bo to furnish and install a complete filter system together with pumps, chemical feeders, raw wat^r piping, filtered water piping with all necessary valves, pressure gauges, test cocks, observation glasses, hair and lint catcher and the kinds of materials and methods of construction are to be as shown by general specifications on file in the otficc of the City Clerk where they mav be examined by interested parties or a copy of same may be obtained. The proposals shall be made on forms prepared bv the City of Algona. Iowa, or on exact copies thereof and each bidder shall submit with his proposal the plans and specifications of his product. The successful bidder shall furnish to the city public liability, personal injury and property damage insurance sufficient to save the city. Its officers, agents and servants harmless from all actions for damage or personal injuries that may arise during the construction of said Improvements.
