Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. He was born May 2, 1923, at Fen ton, a son of Henry and Pearl Pousson Harpster. He married Louise Fogler Sept. 19, 1942, at St.

Charles. Mo. She survives. Also surviving are three sons, Ravis of 175 Park City South, Bloomington; Gerald stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany, and Jim Willow Creek Village, Bloomington; six grandchildren; a sister, Mrs.

Viola Frazier, Lake Charles, La. He was a World War II veteran and a member of the Heyworth Christian Church and the Heyworth American Legion. He was a truck driver for Teamsters Local 26. Mrs. Lena Jones HEYWORTH (PNS)-The funeral for Mrs.

Visitation will be from to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. He was born July 30, 1897, in Colfax, a son of Franklin and Emma Lyons Batterton. He married Anna Gaddii April 17, 1917, in Colfax. She died in July, 1946.

He later married Lila Daugberty May 7, 1947, in Iowa. She died March 2, 1977. Surviving are two sons, Vernon Bat- terton, Heyworth, and Leonard Batterton, Atlanta; a daughter, Mrs. Edna Poppe, Colfax; seven grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A son and two brothers preceded him in death.

Mr. Batterton belonged to the Colfax Christian Church. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Charlie Crevvs FAIRBURY (PNS)-The funeral of Charlie H. Crews, 67, a retired farmer who died Tuesday, will be at 4 p.m.

Friday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home. The Rev. Delmar Smith will officiate. Burial will be in Chenoa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Heisel, Pekin, and Mrs. Florence Roehm, St Louis, a sister, Mrs. Frieda Buckley, Pekin; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, two daughters and a brother.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Tabitha Society, the Senior Club of the church, the YWCA and the Pekin Garden Club. Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church. John Rogers GILMAN-John W.

Rogers. 64, a retired Chicago Transit Authority bus driver and a resident of the La mor Campsite, died at 1 p.m. Tuesday at his home as a result of an apparent heart attack. His funeral will be at 9:30 a.m. Friday at St.

Terrance Church, 119th and Karlov streets, Alsip. Burial will be in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Worth. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Beverly Ridge Funeral Home, 10415 S. Kedzie, Chicago.

He was born Sept. 19, 1912, in Chicago, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William M. Rogers.

He married Ann Reif March 17, 1934, in Chicago. Surviving are his wife; two sons, William Wheaton, and John Elmhurst; two daughters, Mrs. Katherine Niemiec, Goose Creek, and Miss Ann Rogers, Chicago; a sister, Mrs. Marguerite Durrant, Calumet Park, and five grandchildren. A son preceded him in death.

Mr. Rogers, a graduate of Morgan Park High School, Chicago, retired from the CTA in 1974. He belonged to St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Crescent City, the AFL-CIO and the Knights of Columbus, Chicago. OPEL GT, 171.

Elmer Scheuer WENONA (PNS)-Elmer Scheuer, 60, of Peoria and formerly of Wenona, died about noon Wednesday while working at River Oaks Dodge, Peoria. His funeral will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Wilton Mortuary, Peoria. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born March 22, 1917, in Wenona, a son of Oliver and Gertrude Scheuer. He and his wife, Evelyn, were married in Peoria. She survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James Dehner, Houston, his father, Lida Home, Minonk; three sisters, Mrs.

Richard McNair Smith, 59, of 604 Normal Normal, died at 9:35 Wednesday at Brokaw Hospital. He had entered the hospital May 31. He had been employed at State Farm Insurance Companies for 24 years. For- merly, he worked for the U.S. Department of Transportation in the Railway Mail Service.

Mr. Smith attended Bent Grade School and Bloomington High School, where he captained the 1933 basketball team. He attended Northwestern University, Evanston, where he played baseball, and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. He played professional baseball for the Cleveland Indians farm team at Thorn-asville, N.C. Mr.

Smith served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and became the commanding officer of the 81st Bomber Squadron, Headquarters 12th Bomber Group in 1945. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Metzler Memorial Home, with Dr. Gordon B.

White officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr.
