ft Si fc XV' 1 SANBU8KY DAILY STAB, MONDAY, OCTOtfEB 2J, 1UOO. IN ONE GRAVE Four Drowned Sons Will Be Buried IN UPPER BAY. Four Boys Lost Their Lives Sunday. THE THEATEtt. A A A A LITTLE BOAT FOULED In Ffsh Pound and Capsized-Three of Seven Occupants Dead, One a Mere Baby-Stricken Family.

A dispatch from Port Clinton says that a quadruple drowning occurred near Plasterbed, on Sandusky bay, eight miles east of Port Clinton Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock. "The drowned are: Douglass Stark, aged three years, George Stark, aged five years. Alfred Stark, aged eight years. Henry Stark 13 years. The rescued are: William Stark, the father, and William and John Stark.

Mr. Stark rented a boat early in the afternoon and took his family for a ride on the bay. On returning to shore the boat became fouled in a fish pound net and the oarsman could neither forge the boat ahead or go back. The children became frightened, and leaning over the side of the small craft it capsized, resulting in the four deaths by drowning. the four drowned and clung to the boat, but it was a round bottomed affair, and kept constantly turning over over, and they lost their hold and sunk into the depths.

John clung to his father's coat and picked up by rescuers just as he was sinking for the last time, was also saved by a rescuing party. The accident occurred but ten rods from shore, but it was very deep water. Mr. Stark came from Toledo to Port Clinton three weeks ago. He th had family of a wh'e and ten children.

week Harvey, aged four, was buried, and the previous waek, Samuel, aged three months, was stricken with fever and died The father, mother, he two boys and a little daughter now alone survive. Mrs. Stark is prostrate over the terrible disaster. The funeral of the four children will takf place Tuesday afternoon. The boflies have all been recovered and will be interred in one grave.

Stark is in the employ of Mrrsh Co. at the large plaster works at Plasterhed 111 luck lias followed him and being out of employment a I Toledo he went TO Port Clinton to better his condition and the happiness of his family. The terrible results of Sunday's have completely unnerved the man. GERMAN COMIC OPERA. "Tante Bemmchen 4n Amerika' (Aunt Phrosy in America), the Gef man-American comic opera will produced at the Nielsen on Thursda evening and probably renew the grea success it has had everywhere.

play is most amusing from the beginning to the end and of highest musical quality. It is a picture of German-American life in the metropolis combining the farcical and the melodramatic element with musical comedy. In the first act we witness realistic scenes of Bohemian life. Aunt Phros arrives from the Fatherland and tumbles into the studio of her nephew, a young painter; where she meets his gay models and friends. Her association with these strange characters proves excrusiatingly funny, as also is the grand finale whose musical numbers will be greeted with thundering applause.

The second act shows realistically the happiness of early matrimonial life which would be without a fault but for the fact that it is founded upon a bogus marriage. The genial nephew of Aunt Phrosy has procured his young wife and little child only for the occasion. He invented this marriage to obtain money from his dear aunt, and now he has to show his happy family life to the worthy spinster from Saxony. It is needless to say that the incidents abound with laughable musical takes. Tne second act also ends with a very brilliant musical finale.

Third and last act includes a series of charming and amusing tableaus, and a very satisfactory solution of. the whole situation. The famous prima donna, Marie von Wegern, plays thJLjtitle role witli tremendous success, and the original east an excellent one. It is certainly expected that the Nielsen will be crowded to its utmost capacity, principally by our German speaking citizens, and we are sure that we shall see many in the audience whom we have never seen there before These expectations are warranted by the fame which the production has attained, not only in New- York, but also by the unprecedented success which it has had everywhere on its present tcur in the United States.
