He was a charter member of the Washburn American Legion post and served as service officer for many years. He was a supervisor of Bell Plain Township in Marshall County for 19 years.

He was supervisor of Cazenovia Township in Woodford County for two terms. He also served as a member of the Washburn High School Board of Education for 21 years. He survives. Also surviving is her mother of Dwight. She was preceded in death by her father and one brother. She was a graduate of Dwight High School and was employed at Baker Furniture Store before her illness. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
