Some women tor off their, clothing in the excitement. The north wing, known as "the annex," was destroyed. Three firemen were Injured, none seriously. It is rumored that a number of patients were left In the burning building, having hidden under beds and other places where thy could not be found by rescuers. When the fires broke out In the north annex soon after 8 o'clock some of the patients escaped, but the asylum authorities systematized the removal of the inmates from the burning wing to another part of the hospital.

Er- H. Camel, superintendent if the Institution, late tonight said, so far as he knew, no lfves were lost. He said female patients did not escape, but were removed to the south annex. The property loss will not be more than 515,000. Masict Without Parallel.
